My barber that has been cutting my hair for two years had to move away. I went to three different barber shops before I read to reviews for Najib. My first time into his shop I wa cut by one of his assistants and the hair cut was great. I had taken in pictures of what I was looking for because the other barber shops didn't understand what a high fade was. My second visit Najib cut my hair and he was AWESOME. really great guy nice to talk to and cut my hair just the way I wanted it. He even made a few adjustments and said "we're going to grow this out so we can make it more angular" - which is exactly what I want someone who makes me look good! They don't answer phone calls. After arriving, I asked if they were walk-in or appointment only. The gentleman in the first chair said they were appointment only today. When I asked how I could set up an appointment, he said it was "just for today," but I wanted to know for future reference, in case this happens again. Since they don't answer their phone, there's no way for a potential customer to find that out -- and there's no online platform stating it either. I know this review will not hurt their business, but customer service is lacking. read more

Sadly I never got a chance to use his services... I walked in and seeing only a couple people waiting I asked how long the wait was. The young man closest to me replied "15-20 minutes" So I said I'll run to the library and be back in 15, can you take my name? To which the older gentleman responded loudly "we can't hold your spot! " Talk about rejection! Someone offers to patronize your business and you begin the relationship by telling them what you won't do for them?!? Nice. I said I would be back in time and really did not ask for anyone to save my spot... Just wanted to get my name in line. I guess I am glad that they are so busy that they can reject new customers! I prefer to patronize local small businesses, but am stuck with Supercuts today! Not my first choice, but so be it. We used to frequent this shop years ago when a lady ran it. We live almost a across the street so very close. We brought the whole family here monthly for years. Then she moved to the location off of 51st and we went there. When she closed we tried coming back here (different ownership?) but the wait was always really long so we've been using another barber on bell and 51st for several years. Her schedule is now packed and she can only take us all at 7:30 on Saturday mornings. Not being an early riser on the weekends I decided to once again try this location as we frequent the mailbox and dry cleaning stores. Once we find someone we like we stick with them for years. I have been to many barbershops. I had a barber for 20years and he had to quit. After looking at others I found this guys. They made me feel welcomed and attentive to my needs. They give great service and they pay attention to detail. I have recommended many others and they all are very happy with the service and quality they provide. Najib and company run a great business. Warm, welcoming and accommodating in any way possible. I brought my 3 year old son in for his first haircut, and he it went way better than expected. No fighting, no tears just Najib charming him, and doing a fantastic job. I honestly was surprised it went so well. We both look great and his prices can't be beat. Support the local guy. I had Junior cut my hair on today. I came in knowing what I wanted, but didn't know how to exactly say it. So, I described it to him, and he knew exactly what I was talking about. Before finding NYCe Cuts, I had extreme anxiety with people cutting my hair because I would never be satisfied or confident with how it looked. I should of made this review earlier but it has been hectic since the holidays began! Ifound this barbershop through yelp. After reading many different reviews for different barber shop's in the area, I found great and consistent reviews for this barber shop. After walking in and watching the barbers work, I knew my cousin and me made the right choice coming here. The owner (Najib) could not of been more hospitable and welcoming to us. I came in for a beard trim, shave, and clean up of sides. My cousin received a major hair cut since he was trying to go for a newer style. I went with one of Najibs other barbers, while my cousin went with Najib himself. I have to say, I have received shaves, cuts, and trims from barber shops ranging from NY , DC, LA, SD, and now AZ. I have never experienced such care for detail like I did at NYCe. They took there time trimming and lining up my beard and loose hairs, while my cousin was beyond happy with his haircut after he was done with Najib. Najib is such a caring owner, that he even brought us drinks from next door just because we waited and he wanted to be hospitable towards us. This gentleman deserves all the recognition from his hard work and hope his business only continues to grow for the better! By the way his son was training with him, which I think is awesome.
