This mansion museum was a great way to spend a slow afternoon in Puyallup…read more It is currently a $15 fee for adults to do a self tour of the home. You are welcome to take photos, and please, take your time! There is plenty to read either on the pamphlet given to you at the entrance, or on the walls beside all the beautiful furniture, paintings, and artifacts. It's hard not to imagine yourself at the turn of the century, living in wealth in this fancy home, like the Meekers did. Ezra and Eliza Meeker were a fascinating couple who did so much with their lives, even into their last years. Traveling the Oregon Trail, hitting success with a hop business, Ezra being the mayor twice, Eliza founding the town's public library and strongly supporting the suffrage movement. I also can't help but to respect Eliza even more for her strength in character even though she was of small stature (4'8")! Especially for those who live in the area, I highly recommend you learn about this historic Puyallup family with a visit to the Meeker Mansion Museum!

"Ezra was an American pioneer who traveled the Oregon Trail migrated from Iowa to the Pacific Coast. Once known as the Hop King of the World." A lot of good history of Puyallup. I didn't have time for the tour, but I appreciated seeing the mansion and getting a glimpse of this city's history. Next time, I'll have to do the tour. Thank you again, Diane, for being so nice and friendly!

I enjoy this little park! The park is close to the FootHills Trail East Puyallup Trailhead, Farm 12…read moreand Cafe Fika. The park has amazing views of Mt Rainier! A great place for all things photography, simply take a relaxing peaceful walk on the paved trail painted with yellow flowers (so cute) to enjoy the scenic view of Mt Rainier. During the spring, you can witness the beautiful blooms of the flowers in the field. I've seen other Yelper's beautiful pictures. I missed this last spring due to my frequent travels out of state. I hope to capture it this spring. The park is well kept. A children's playground was recently completed last year 2025 I believe around October/November. Pet friendly. I bring my grandpups Havanna and Kuba here to enjoy as well. Potty bags and trash receptacles also available. Porta potty on site. There are benches throughout the park. A swinging bench located at mid section the loop which faces Mt Rainier. It's a perfect spot to enjoy the entire view of the park and Mt Rainier.

I wanted to wait until the hype died down a little bit - it still does have plenty of hype, but not too much at dusk in January. We took advantage of the rather warm, dry January day this week and headed to check out the playground after my kids were out of school. It's conveniently located right next to Farm 12, so there's plenty of parking in front of the park and next to the park. The playground is so much bigger than I expected! Huge! There are multiple play structures for a wide span of ages. My kids had a BLAST here. Even my toddler was able to get around pretty easily on the bigger structure (always anxiety inducing for me). My older two also really loved the rock climbing structures too. This park is about a 20 minute drive for us but it's entirely worth it. I see lots of trips here this summer happening!

Ahhhhh the Liberty! Such history for Puyallup here…read more Growing up we went to so many movies I can't even begin to count them. The tradition of the owner, and then the owner's son years later, introducing the movie by doing his 'don't do drugs & turn in a pusher' speech. Do you remember that? Hmmmm if not, you missed out. The floor was often sticky and eventually the chairs were so worn out you sat carefully hoping it wasn't going to break. The popcorn and snacks were always a super deal. But the climb upstairs to the bathrooms was a bit creepy and only one toilet per man/woman's side to accommodate a theater full of people, made for awkward situations. *sigh* reminiscing can be bittersweet sometimes. Now on to its current use. It was bought out from the family who owned it and converted into an events venue. From everyone I know who has since been to one, I am told they did an excellent job with the place and its a great place to reserve for your wedding, conference, etc. My baby sister even hosted a local bands showcase for all ages which worked really well here.
