Dana and Natalie have made my experience so pleasant, the two of them are the gems of de seversky! I hosted my bridal shower here and Dana offered the grand ballroom at a reasonable price. It's stunning inside. We worked together to go over the floor plan, the details of the day and she also provided an excellent tour of the stunning grounds. The food options were excellent! my crowd was obsessing over how delicious and unique all the options were. The service was impeccable during my shower as well. Attended a wedding here on March 9, 2018. Probably one of the best and most elegant wedding I've ever been to. If you are taking uber, the uber maps are taking them the wrong direction so make sure they drop you off at the right mansion and not the private residences. I missed the ceremony but I was able to make cocktail hour and reception. Cocktail hour is in a small room and food on tables and butlers carrying appetizers around. Very elegant and delicious. Reception area was in another room and very cost. Our bartender Joseph was phenomenal and awesome, he got out drinks and Ishmael our server got our food and waters refilled at all times. For food, we had a 2 course plated meal. Started was amazing and I ordered top sirloin for my main meal which was excellent! Dancing was in another room along with cake cutting. Bar was excellent once again and very attentive. Everything was beautiful, fun, and elegant. It was a great wedding party and everyone had so much fun! I would give this 3.5 stars. I went here as a guest for my cousin's wedding. Hidden in the middle of the NYIT campus is this venue rented out for events and celebrations. There is parking to the left of the mansion driving in. The architecture is very nice and has that antique feeling. The out side they had a patio area and a garden that would have looked nice for pictures. We say in a sunroom for the ceremony. I suspect that it was the alternative since the weather was gloomy. The cocktail hour was a little confusing. There was two separate rooms of serving stations. One room had a choice of two pastas, bread, cheeses and vegetables. The other room had a chef prepping small bites and a table of sautéed vegetables, fried calamari and prosciutto. There were also small bites being passed around. One negative is that we didn't feel like there were enough tables for the guests to comfortably eat. The food overall I feel was slightly under par of what I would expect from a catering hall. It was really inconsistent on the quality. The creme brûlée my sister had during cocktail hour was not cooked correctly. The custard was not set enough and the bottom was still liquid. For the entree I had the salmon for the main course which was too dry on top and about average. As an interesting mansion to look at an architectural standpoint it may be interesting. As for the food, there is definitely some improvement that is needed. read more

Originally named White Eagle by the du Ponts, it was later sold to the Guest family (cousin of Winston Churchill) and named Templeton. Later sold to the NY Institute of Technology and renamed yet again afer Russian aviator de Seversky who was a board member and part of the purchase (ie: named after himself) lol. The new name is annoying as is the fact that the beautiful marble floored rooms upstairs imported stone by stone from the Guests fifth avenue mansion are now offices. These gorgeous places never stay in tact, they often become morphed into some practical purpose if they get to remain standing. But the great thing about this old 1916 Gold Coast Mansion is they do events and are open to use as a venue. So they keep it presentable for that purpose. Beautiful rolling green lawn down to a pond, lots of Georgian style brick, limestone etc. Large rooms and high ceilings inside, windows overlooking a rear side yard down to a distant pond. They have a commercial grade kitchen for catering and events. So if throwing your next event, you want a feel of the roaring 20's they are good enough to make it available.. for a fee of course. Some of the memorable images include the columns on the porch, the large gated driveway, and the large chandelier inside. Also the master bedroom gives and idea of years past, what it must have been like to live in that day in a beautiful mansion. So we just had my daughter's wedding here last week. Due to NYS COVID restrictions, we were limited to 50 people. Therefore, we booked consecutive nights with family the first night with the ceremony and friends the next evening. They have 3 different types of celebrations: traditional, European and Gatsby. We did European the opening night where the only time you have assigned seating is in the ballroom for dinner for 90 minutes. Otherwise you have free rein to go to the other rooms. The glass enclosed garden room was for the dancing and for the ceremony since it rained. The second night was Gatsby which was a big cocktail blowout with terrific food stations and no assigned seating. The mansion is amazing with a beautiful entrance showcasing a giant chandelier next to a marble staircase. My favorite room was the library complete with speakeasy type secret bookcase door. The patio has plenty of seating with multiple fire pits. We were able to enjoy this the second night when the weather was dry.The food was absolutely amazing all prepared fresh on the premises with many choices available . COVID precautions were all in place including hand sanitizers in all rooms. I cannot tell you enough about the amazing people we dealt with at the Mansion. Dana was our planner and kept us apprised of all important items and deadlines. She accommodated us in every way possible. She even arranged with her own laptop and tripod to do a live feed of the ceremony so my Mom in Florida could see it. Jose was the other person that assisted with the planning. This guy is an absolute SUPERMAN! He is a Jack of all trades and never ceased to amaze me with items big and small that he was a step ahead of all of us. After the first night, my daughter's wedding gown had many dirt spots due to the rain when taking pics outside. He incredibly on his own hand cleaned it with seltzer and other concoctions, hung it up , steamed it and had a giant fan blowing on it and became good as new to wear for the second night. The rest of the staff were all amazing from Melissa to Stacey to Mary Beth to Sam the bartender. What a joy working with these folks. If you've ever wanted to party like Jay Gatsby, the de Seversky Mansion at NYIT might just be the place. I attended my cousin's wedding here last weekend and was blown away by the grandeur and beauty of this place. With its old-world classic architecture, gorgeous grounds, attentive service and terrific food (except for one thing, which I'll get to), this mansion seems like an incredible place to get married (although I'm sure it came at a hefty price tag). What was pretty awesome about this place was the fact that we had the entire mansion to ourselves for the whole day. We pulled up at the front door of the mansion and had a valet take our car from us. We then walked into the grand foyer with its beautiful chandelier and grand staircase and had our coats checked by one of the staff members. From there, you walk left into the bar or right into the grand ballroom (not a bad set of options in my opinion). Throughout the day, we moved from room to room (ceremony in one room, cocktail hour in another, reception in another) and I was impressed with each one. Having cocktail hour in the library with bubbly Champagne was especially cool to me for some reason (they even had some incredibly old books on the shelves, which made for some interesting reading and conversation). When it came to food, everything here was delicious! The wedding we attended was kosher, which of course limits the options, but even with a kosher wedding I enjoyed just about everything I ate (and was stuffed by the end of the day). The only part of the meal I didn't particularly enjoy was the prime rib entree, which was incredibly gamey and lacked flavor. Next time I'd probably opt for a different choice. Otherwise, all the food was great. The staff here (for the most part) was very friendly as well. There were a couple of staff members who I found were a little unfriendly for no reason, but those one or two don't speak for the others who were very attentive, friendly and hospitable. Overall, it was a lot of fun to attend a giant party at this old-world mansion, and I'd certainly recommend looking into it if you're looking for a venue (as long as it doesn't break the bank). read more

The de Seversky Mansion gave me my dream wedding. My friends and family seriously refer to our wedding as the "Wedding of the Century," and that is all due to the unbelievable staff at the de Seversky Mansion. There is so much to write about the de Seversky Mansion so I will just hit some of the ultimate highs. First, everything was so organized the day of the wedding. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing- there was never anything I had to worry about. Second, the Mansion is so well-kept, clean and just stunning. There are very few venues that you get to have all to yourself. We did a European-style wedding and got to really spend time in all different parts of the mansion. While the pictures look incredible, de Seversky is even more speculator in person. Third, the staff is top-notch. Jessica Wontz is a rockstar and bent over backwards to make sure my day was perfect. She would talk to me on weekends and calm me down as I freaked out about wedding prep. Jessica is also extremely organized and professional. She really became a friend throughout the process! We feel so beyond grateful to have her part of our wedding planning process. Also, Jose, our maitre, was the absolute best. He made sure that everything the night of wedding was perfect. He was so professional and really ran the Mansion like a well-oiled machine. Fourth, the FOOD. No words to describe how delicious it was. This is not wedding food, it is seriously a gourmet meal. When our friends talk about our wedding they always say, "the food was incredible and there was so much of it!" I could go on and on, but overall the de Seversky was everything I wanted and more. This was the first venue we looked at for our wedding and once we saw the grounds, nothing came close. The staff are really phenomenal and very detail-oriented. The mansion features so many gorgeous antiques and Art Deco era detailing that speak for themselves. We saved a bit of $ by leveraging the items they had in house for cake stand, table numbers, etc. I loved how it was tucked away and the grand entrance and surprise that is revealed when driving up. Also loved that we got to use every single room in the mansion. We got so so so many compliments on the food and let's be real, that's all that matters in a wedding. The staff prepared all three meals for my husband and I and made sure we sat down for dinner. They even packed a doggy bag for us to take home. In addition my bridal attendant was a godsend and even sewed me into my dress after a wardrobe malfunction. Only thing I would recommend is to find a DJ that is used to the "European Style" of ceremony, if you pick it. Ours was clueless and it was kind of annoying explaining the set up/ how many mics he would need, etc. They also have a "preferred vendor" requirement for flowers which I didn't love but ours ended up being amazing ("Petals"). During the venue search, you want someone to damn answer your questions if you're selling out avg persons years salary for one day right!! And Ana is ON POINT with that. Some pointers for brides looking into this: - It's not too hard to drive to but it's confusing because it's actually on the campus. You have to follow signs. -gatsby style is good for a younger more party crowd. -even tho max capacity is about 250, no single room can hold all those guests comfortably. -it's beautiful, extremely unique, but more closed off feeling... Not very "open". Definitely book a tour and see for yourself! read more

The NYIT de Seversky Mansion is a startlingly gorgeous mansion with an intriguing Gold Coast history which we selected for our November 2019 wedding. We chose the de Seversky in August of last year, so it was a real race to the finish line. Fortunately de Seversky team really rose to the occasion to help make our wedding truly special. We worked with Dana Perna and manager Robert Jay Calo as our primary contacts. We had two main requirements: responsiveness and an all-vegetarian wedding. I'll note that on the responsiveness front the first month or so was a bit challenging; I'm used to direct/immediate responses and there was some lag time in communications. However, when the timeline got to under a month and a half a switch was flipped and everything fell into place. It was frankly a little nerve wracking for us during the early going, but a pleasure once we knew we could rely on the de Seversky team. They also worked extremely well with our wedding coordinator. Additionally although we wanted to go off-book with our vendor selections and not simply use the venue's suggestions, the vendors we did use from their lists really were excellent and trustworthy. For the food, we had multiple conversations with the head chef and his sous chef straight through the final tasting. While at first the options presented were a bit pedestrian we were assured that the team would rise to the occasion and proved to be highly collaborative with feedback and suggestions after I sent through an array of potential dishes and recipes. I got the sense that the challenge of an all-vegetarian wedding was fun for the staff and that really shone through. We received many compliments from our guests on the quality of the appetizers and entrees (we actually pushed to have Impossible Burgers which went over like gangbusters). We opted for the dessert cafe and substituted Crepes Suzette for the waffles, which guests adored. In fact, there was so (so) much food that although after-dinner food add-ons are available there was absolutely no need. The day-of Groom and Bridal attendants, whose names I'm embarrassed to say I don't recall in the whirl of the day, were excellent; calming, reassuring and focused on the goals at hand. Really top-notch. The ability to create specialty cocktails, while standard, was another part of the creativity of the experience as the excellent Head Bartender was more than willing to go "off book" from the typically offerings to work on drinks with more creative pizazz. I also requested a beer option like a winter porter that is no longer made...and somehow he was able to find cases OF that out of stock beer! That was a real surprise and delight. There are two relatively minor negatives to report. One is the lack of an elevator to the second floor where the Bride's suite is located. This is unfortunate as it does limit the ability of mobility-challenged guests to participate in some moments. Second is the organization of the mansion itself. There are a number of rooms which all flow into each other, making it a very special location and experience - but it becomes very easy for guests (particularly older ones) to get either lost or confused in the layout. We had multiple guests report to us that they weren't aware there WAS a second room serving appetizers, for example; at the end of the night dessert is served in a separate room which means guests wander off and don't return to the dance floor. More signage or just the servers letting guests know about what's available would really help. Altogether we, and our guests, had a delightful and memorable experience at the de Seversky and, keeping in mind the need to be collaborative with the team and to ensure your guests know the layout, would highly recommend for other couples! read more

ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL IN EVERY WAY!!!! My fiancé and I dreamed of a Gatsby-esque mansion style reception and ceremony with a focus on great food and drinks. The NYIT De Seversky mansion turned our vision and ideas into the wedding we dreamed about. Our coordinator Ana Garcia was extremely helpful from the first day we stopped by the mansion. She has not only been very responsive, personable, accommodating, but she was a integral part in making our dream wedding come true. I cannot say enough good things about Ana and the entire staff at De Seversky and they are truly a cut above the rest. When Ana wasn't available Jessica or another staff seamlessly stepped in to help if they were able to. The care, attention to detail, service, quality of food, coordination assistance, and personalization is worth every penny. Ana and the rest of the staff made us feel like family and they went above and beyond at every moment in the journey. During our reception on September, 6th 2015 we felt like rock stars and received service that exceeded any of top restaurants or hotels that we have stayed in. Our Matire D' Jonathon was also more than we could have ever asked or hoped for. He was enthusiastic when needed, calming when needed, and seemed to think of things we never thought of. Not only was the day flawlessly orchestrated, but he also ensured that our every question or request was fulfilled near immediately. I can confidently say that they created the most extravagant and enjoyable day of my life and people have said it's the best wedding they've been to. So I'm getting married here the end of March. The home is beautiful. We had our tasting and the food was actually very good. I would call it restaurant quality, first wedding where I'm really looking forward to the meal. I will update in April after the wedding and let you know if everything lived up to my expectations but so far it's my favorite venue on Long Island. So the Wedding was amazing. Jessica was my coordinator and she was so kind and helpful. Ana was also very nice. The best man actually forgot our rings and Jess ran up and got them from the bridal suite, she saved the day! I came here for a summer wedding and this place is beautiful. As soon as you arrive you are greeted by the valet. They opened the door for me and allowed me to exit as another person directed you towards the other guests and ceremony. The ceremony took place on the lawn and was beautifully decorated. The staff proceeded to direct us to the reception area where staff members approached attendees with champagne glasses and hors d'oeuvres. The hors d'oeuvres consisted of mac and cheese balls, tuna on toast, tomato soup shooters, spicy chicken quesadillas, etc. There was a 3 tables setup on the inside with hot and cold food consisting of 3 types of pasta, cold vegetable/fruit and shrimp and many more food choices. We were then led into a smaller room for the introduction of the bride/groom and bridal party. It was setup in all white and was so sexy. It was filled with high top tables, and different shaped couches. This room was where all the entertainment took place. After the introduction, there were 3 rooms serving food- the library, garden room and the terrace room. Each room had a theme. The dinner selections included lobster tails, steak, burgers, quesadillas, etc. Honestly, I was so full I couldn't really indulge. The party, food and drinks continued flowing. The staff stayed friendly, attentive and extremely competent throughout the evening, bathrooms were kept clean and the valet time to return cars to their owners occurred within a matter of minutes. I'm not sure about pricing because I was only a guest but its an elegant place to have an event in my eyes. read more

This is a fantastic wedding venue. One guest after another told us that this was one of the most beautiful wedding venues they had ever seen. It's also incredibly well maintained, so the original glory of the mansion has remained and will for the foreseeable future. The food was also excellent, from the Dim Sum bar at the reception to the short ribs, duck, and butternut squash ravioli at the reception. But really, the highlight of the place is the staff. Even before the day of the wedding, the planning was as hassle-free as could possibly be imagined. Gabrielle, the coordinator, promptly and patiently answered each question I sent her, no matter how silly or trivial. I could tell that everything was being taken care of. On the day, Roger, the maître d', ensured that we were taken care of from start to finish that day. My wife and her family arrived for makeup and brought bagels. Roger made sure they were laid out (literally) on a silver platter. I arrived with my brother later on and kept asking him silly questions. He bore them sagely and reassured me, at each turn, that I needn't worry about anything. He was right. An offhand question about the mini-beef Wellington hors d'oeuvres resulted in a plate of them just a minute later. A subtle comment from Roger that our food was on the table ensured that we had a chance (unusual among brides and grooms) to eat. But what surpassed all of that, even, was when you offered to drive back some of the things we had accidentally left at the mansion. Everything went off without a hitch. It's hard to say what the absolute best part about hosting our wedding with NYIT de Seversky was. The groom's family, who loves historic places and beautiful architecture, would probably tell you it was the gorgeous mansion, well-maintained grounds, and picture-perfect ceremony location options. The guests would probably say the food-- there was so much food and every course was something you'd expect from a restaurant or award-winning caterer. As the bride, though, I think the best part was the endless support and expertise I had access to, and the immense flexibility and capability of the talent in house. I chose not to use a wedding planner, despite having a very busy work schedule and not being physically on Long Island most days of the month, because I got overly ambitious and way over-estimated how long I'd continue to find wedding-planning fun for. The only reason I didn't regret it? De Seversky made every idea I had a dazzling reality. Custom escort card displays... a surprise dragon dance during the cocktail hour (they hid at least a dozen children, two Chinese lion costumes, and at least 2 taiko-sized drums in a back room for me while we exchanged vows. What other venue can pull that off? What other planner?)... baskets of sandals and bathroom amenities and photo frames and candles/bud vase arrangements throughout the entire mansion! An epic take-out donut display. All without batting an eyelash. When I asked whether I should hire a coordinator, they told us "our brides don't typically get day of coordinators... some do, but most don't, and most don't regret it"-- they're 1000% right. Their staff knows their space and timesheets like the backs of their hands. Even better than that? They run a very tight ship in terms of timeline, meetings, responsiveness, simplifying payments. My parents are immigrants and their English is solid, but contract details can get confusing. The planning staff at De Seversky made all of us feel extremely in the loop and in control. Any time my mom wanted to call, drop by with a question, anything, Dana and Robert Jay would quickly get back to her. One thing I really appreciate is that when our headcount came in a little too high, it looked like we would need to use a different floorplan for where we had dinner. My florist had designed the centerpieces to highlight the tables on the edges of the room, however, and if we needed to change rooms, the redesign would have been last-second and very expensive. She was freaking me out, so I called Robert Jay to see if he could make it work, and he first calmed me down, assuring it would work, then had Dana and Jose, both superstars, put together a plan that probably wasn't as ideal spaciousness-wise, but it was what we needed. Dinner was a bit cozy, in the room we envisioned it in, and so so beautiful (and delicious! I still think about that shrimp garganelli pasta. Don't let them take that off the menu!!). I cannot think of a way in which NYIT de Seversky could be trumped. It is delicious. beautiful. authentic. professional. These people know hospitality, and they will take care of you like fairy godparents. It isn't cheap, but it did save me at least $5K in wedding planning/coordinating costs, so that's considerable too. read more

For people who are attending to this venue. PLEASE NOTE. That Yelp, IPhone maps, and google maps may deceive you ! You may end up entering LIU or a random neighborhood. Make sure when you're on Northern BLVD. You hang a right Once you see the sign that says NYIT. Once on this path you'll see the signs that'll lead you to De Seversky Mansion. Drive slow! Since there aren't many lights and the signs were quite small. Now on to the review! I have to say. I enjoyed this venue. For many city folks this would be considered a little secret spot of happiness. I was lucky to have experience such a place. The wedding went smoothly and i love the fact that it had an open dance floor where you can witness an amazing sunset and a starry night. This would be the type of place where you invite close friends and family. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to get married ! I dropped one star due to the fact that my car and my phones GPS did not want to find this place! read more

The outdoor area for the ceremony is naturally beautiful and there was plenty of seating indoors for the cocktail hour amongst the various rooms. The grounds and interior of the mansion are gorgeous. There is an outside garden with a lake in the far distance, quite serene and relaxing. The inside of the mansion include a ballroom with high ceiling, molding all around and old fashion drapery, several individual rooms that host cocktail hour along with a well stocked library and bar area. While the asthetics are ideal, the service provided at the recent wedding I attended was mediocre. The timing between courses was awkward and after requesting more dinner rolls half way through dinner, both the waiter and another lady told us it was being baked. About 45 minutes later, the lady told us that batch got burnt. Really?? Like I am supposed to believe that, I would've gladly accepted the truth over the old burnt bread excuse. Other than this minor fact, it is a great venue to host an event, the food at cocktail hour was delicous-especially the steak! Eat your steaks' worth at cocktail and forget about the entree, it was way too tough and chewy, flavor was not as good either. I got the black cod, it was very bland and did not come with much else. In my opinion, applebees would be a better option than the dinner here. read more

We chose the deSeversky mansion at NYIT as the venue to host our wedding more than a year prior to our actual date of September, 19 2015. From day one, Ana, Jessica, Candece and every staff member we dealt with were calming and professional. Our main contact was Ana, she helped steer us in the right direction and was very knowledgable with every decision. Even decisions that didn't involve the venue! She is a true asset. Not only is the mansion beautiful, they executed our wedding with military precision. They honored every wish of ours without hesitation. The food options where plentiful and delicious. They accommodated any changes or requests we asked for. Our guests are still sending us texts, emails and Facebook posts about the food and selections. Everyone LOVED the duck meatballs, crepe station and of course the "Gold Coast" seafood table during the cocktail hour. The entrees warrant their own special mention. After the guests saying they couldn't possibly eat another thing after cocktail hour, the entrees came out and they were too good to pass up. Guests raved about every choice and some even ordered seconds of the truffle mashed potato side! My personal favorite was the miso glazed black cod, amazing! There was honestly nothing this venue could do wrong. We are so happy we chose the NYIT deSeversky mansion. We could not have pulled this all together and so perfectly without them. read more

If I could give it 10 stars I would. My wife and I got married here March of 2017 and loved everything about it. The staff was absolutely incredible! Everyone from the people setting up tables and chairs all the way up to Gina our "event specialist". Our maitre d' and bridal attendant (Jackie and Joan) were also incredible. Through your entire experience with them anytime we needed something we barely got two words out before someone was handing it too us. A wedding can be quite stressful for the bride and groom... the staff at this venue managed to bring down our stress level over and over again... the beauty of the venue speaks for itself so I won't even touch on that I just really want to tell everyone how great our experience was with every employee of de seversky. read more

Our wedding was Saturday May 12th, 2018 at the de Seversky Mansion, and it was truly everything we ever could have wanted and beyond! My husband and I had never heard of this venue before starting our research, but when we pulled up to visit in March 2017, we knew right away this was a very special place. This was the first venue we toured and the only one we truly seriously considered. The class, grace, and elegance of the mansion itself, the grounds, and the staff is unmatched. We worked closely with Rocio from start to finish - she is the definition of a patient, organized, and knowledgable sales and event professional! She was incredibly responsive to us, along with our families, and was extremely timely and thorough in all communication. We were so pleased to work with her and we also had the good fortune to communicate with other members of the deSeversky staff throughout our planning process and on the day of the wedding - all of whom were just as awesome (the chef, the amazing maitre'Ds - Jose and Jackie, my lovely bridal attendant Kim, among several others). This made all the difference on our big day, and during the months and days leading up to the wedding, as we knew we could count on them to answer any questions quickly and thoroughly. All of our vendors, including and especially our coordinator, Kelli Teglas, were delighted to work with the staff at this venue. The planning and vendor resources provided to us by the venue were priceless. Note that it's highly recommended and financially optimal to choose from the list of preferred florists - we worked with Diana and her team at Petals Floral and Party Design in Locust Valley. Look no further than them - Diana is amazing to work with, sweet, and so talented, and our flowers were to die for! We also opted for one of the recommended cake bakers - Wonderful Wedding Cakes in Locust Valley. Kristan was awesome to work with and accommodated every request we had for our cake, even those requests (Nutella, fresh raspberries) that other bakeries could not. If you can, be sure to attend the Bridal Show at the venue - this was our first time sampling the venue's food and we were blown away. This is not typical wedding food! It was clear from everything we tried at the Bridal Show and from our tasting, which we did in January 2018, that the level of technique, expertise, and sophistication the chef brings to the table is well beyond anything we could have asked for. The same chef who prepared our tasting worked with us to assemble our menu, and he was the same chef present on our wedding day. The quality and beauty of the food didn't waiver one bit. The food at our wedding was abundant and varied, but there weren't piles of it, like you might see elsewhere. It didn't look or feel cheap or ridiculous in it's volume. It was presented in the most beautiful way possible. Our many special requests related to food and drink (royal wedding inspired welcome drinks, customized cuts of meat, specific flavor profiles for our desserts) were graciously accommodated. This goes without saying that virtually ALL of our requests for specifics were met and exceeded. Everything from the bridal suite, to the enclosed glass room for indoor ceremonies, to the grand piano, to the fountains, to the incredible landscaping, to the proximity to the city and our other vendors made this the perfect place to hold our wedding. My husband & I attended a wedding here yesterday and the food was alright ( the food was cold because the doors were open in 45 degree weather), but the ambience was beautiful. We were freezing during the entire outdoor ceremony. But it was beautiful so we didn't mind being cold. But the bottom line is, there wasn't enough room for the guests. We stood the entire time squished against a hallway for cocktail hour (which was over 2 hours long), we were able to sit for the main course but we were freezing in a glass room away from the main area where the bride & groom were. We ( us & 5 other tables) couldn't see anything Bc there was a brick wall separating us from the rest of the party. I think they just really couldn't accommodate the number of guests that were present. We were then corralled out of the greenhouse where we ate our dinner. Next we went to the ballroom where, again, we had to stand against a wall as the bride & groom entered the room. It was very poorly executed as there were not enough tables & chairs for the masses. This all may have been lees noticeable if the cocktail hour wasn't so long or if there was dancing this entire time. The only time dancing took place was in the ballroom where everyone squished in as the final room we went to. I'm guessing the bride & groom booked with them, then kept inviting guests. There were at least 200- 250 guests. This venue should have limited the guests total to 150 guests. This place would have been perfect for 150 guests. It was very beautiful, but just not able to accommodate that size party. read more

I must say that I am surprised at the wonderful ratings this place received. First off, there should be clear signs for you to follow, since it is right on the NYIT campus. The invitations only gave the address , and both phone and car gps took us to the wrong campus. After we circled around for about 20 minutes, I said to my husband, "one more try, and my check is going in the mail!" When we finally arrived, it looked more like we were visiting someone's home, which was nice. What I disliked most was that there were only a few tables to sit at for the cocktail hour. If you enjoy standing up to eat, then you'll be fine. I also didn't like that the food was scattered into 2 different rooms, and the bar was yet in another room. After cocktail hour, we sat in the main room for dinner. After dinner we were told we had to move again to another area for cake and coffee. Once again, not enough tables to sit. By this time I was ready to leave. The food was really tasteless, but I was still willing to give the desert a fair chance. Again, it was a disappointment. To sum it up, the place is cute for a very small gathering, food is nothing to rave about. Find yourself a better place for a wedding. read more
