It's the first time here. I didn't try any food or drinks. I came for the music . Opening act Love Song was great. This band playing now sounds like they forgot to do a sound check. Strangelove. Turn it up, guys. The band lost the crowd early due to the volume problem. They finally fixed it but Stranglove never got the crowd back I hope Flock of Seagulls sounds better. Wow, A Flock of Seagulls was having sound issues, too. WTF? Does anyone at The Space do sound checks. Whoever was running the soundboard really screwed up the bands. They owe Strangelove an apology. One would expect a place that used to be a movie theater would have a decent sound system. read more

Went to see EIP Show last Night. When we got their looked nice. we found our seats to our surprise they were very tight on top of one and another and your knee's were in the back of the seat in front of you. We decided to stay. The out side temp was about 80 Degrees and the inside temp was no better. It was so hot even Palmer said it was very toasty. We got up after the first two songs and left. we cooled down when we went out side. read more

Beyond the boorish front doors, a path was seen by a non transindentalist mind below the flickering lights that cast tiny shadows across the enterance hall toward the rear bar, through an inadvertant walkway -- so I followed. Jameson poor pours were $14.00 so I slammed it and said "hit me", so he did and "hit me again" I was ready to throw another round -- I wanted a reaction -- another kick at the cat. So after four, I decided that I wanted to look for cobwebby things upon the brick walls between sconces, I hovered like a moth to light -- now believing the main chandelier might have what I'm looking for so I ventured forth. But just then the lights dimmed and I was encouraged to find my seat and three voices began to swell from the stage. A tepid applause as Dave Davies took to the stage, now a man of 70 with a kinky (hence the name) fuschia cloak, blazing with the brilliance of a new star. Songs sung sounded sad, brief bouts of grief perhaps -- with a voice growing stronger with each next pretty ditty from a newly released album. Dave Davies spoke words of love and friendship and their importance to each and everyone of us. His choice of encore was his first song that brother Ray wrote the bridge for. It was a most beautiful and memorable performance -- Death a Clown. Dave held out his guitar and the few of us that approached the stage strummed upon it, he gently touched my hand telling me that we too were friends. read more

Much better experience this time at a Gogol Bordello show. The only problem we had is that people in the balcony were sitting wherever they wanted to sit and the ushers were not on top of the situation. Once we flagged one down he was able to rearrange the messed up seating. In addition the numbers on the seats do not match the ticket numbers and lighting is poor once the show starts. Once we got settled in we saw a high energy, wacky performance by the band led by the wild and crazy Eugene Hutz. He kept cursing out the lighting guys, they must have been roasting on the stage. This got him somewhat agitated and announced a few times "a f'ing middle of the week show in the middle of f'ing nowhere. Anyway with all that he still put on an amazing show and the audience was into it from beginning to end. The first floor is all standing room but there is mid level seating and balcony seats which are very comfortable and all have great views. They have a huge bar on the first level and one by the lobby. Entire venue and bathrooms are clean. Ticket prices are reasonable and you have lot of pre show restaurants to choose from walking distance from the theater. They charge $10 to park near the theater but if you park a couple of blocks away no charge after 6 PM. read more

This is a beautiful venue. I have been to a couple of shows (Patti Smith and Tramps Like Us) here since it opened at the end of 2013 and It has been a great experience each time. The owners did an excellent job in renovating this place. The acoustics of the shows were excellent, the sight-lines and seating first rate. Every aspect about the interior is completely modern, but I also appreciate the look of the exposed brick and wood inside. The area is also very convenient with dining options and plenty of parking close to the venue. It is also not far from the Westbury LIRR station. I believe you have to admire what the owners did here and appreciate how difficult it is to run a performance space. I'm sure it would have been easier to build out a block of storefronts and put some housing on top, but instead they gave the area a first rate venue for shows and events! It's one of my favorite things happening on long island and look forward to seeing many shows here. read more

Really nice venue for a concert. And the drinks aren't crazy overpriced, alà The Paramount in H-ton. I purchased tickets for The Pixies months before the show for hubs birthday and we both kinda forgot the date of the show...we lined everything up for the 29th of September (babysitter, dinner res, etc) to find out it was the 22nd. I was soooooo upset. Luckily, the customer service is great at the Space. We were able to change in our tickets. Looking through the upcoming shows, we decided to take a gamble on Anders Osborne and Jackie Green. They were amazing...happy to have discovered new artists. We are on the lookout for more bands to come here. So much easier than trekking to the city and lots of great restaurants in the area. I also saw Jimmy Eat World here a few years ago.. another great show. Definitely come check it out..venue isn't as big as Paramount but we really liked it a lot. Seats in the balcony are still decent if it's not a GA show. read more

My son attended an event at this venue. Unfortunately he forgot his backpack there with some personal items in it , including his wallet. For sure I thought I wouldn't see it back. The owners called me back and said we have your sons backpack. Was shocked ! Nice to see still honest people around. Highly recommend this venue. We went to a concert on Saturday Nov. 11 to see The Outlaws. The warm up band was a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover band. The lead singer was wearing a t-shirt with 1/2 an American flag and 1/2 a CONFEDERATE FLAG. I am disgusted that the venue would allow a depiction of hatred on its stage. I was extremely disappointed and nauseated by this and will not be going back to The Space anytime soon. I am so sorry that I gave money to this establishment. The confederate flag is a representation of hatred and racism and should be offensive to everyone. It is not ok to wear it. read more

My friend had tickets to a comedy show here this past weekend we figured why not give it a try. Once we arrived we sat in the front since of course these are the seats most people don't like when it comes to comedy shows .. no body likes to get picked on loll. Once seated we got some drinks with our tickets we had some Ciroc coconut w pineapple pretty good the bartender made the drinks decent. Once the show stared ahh it was ok I guess 6 comedians in total each was up on stage for 20-25 minutes or so I'd say out of those first guy wasn't bad, last girl & guy were better. As for the venue not bad nice intimate setting for sure not very big plenty of tables to sit, comfy seating my only complain would be that the venue was freezing cold... holy mother of god u could practically see your breath in there way too much. Venue wise decent to catch a show. read more

WARNING -----WARNING ----- WARNING-------- BUYER BEWARE!!!! This place is selling tickets for loge seating yet there were no seats what a friggin ripp off. I came to see ScoMule which is Govt Mule with John Scofield, I thought my tickets with seat numbers would be guaranteed a seat... Not......no seats just standing room only. What a bunch of dicks stealing money from unsuspected buyers. Me and my friend just looked at each other. Their web page advertised Loge seating at a higher price then standing room, yet we had to stand for the whole show. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. The concert I saw was great Warren and the band ripped it up with jazz great John Scofield but can u imagine standing for 3 hours you must be friggin nuts. We didnt even stay in the Loge section its like a cattle pen. You can see better on the floor. The venue is nice great sound but RIPPING PEOPLE OFF IS NOT GOOD!!!! P.S. Steve Windwood is playing there and they are charging $148 for Loge compared to $79 for General admission on floor. read more

Came to see Jim Jefferies last Friday and had a great time. This is a nice venue with plenty of bars and bathrooms. Drinks cost about $8, but they gotta make their money somewhere. Seating is comfortable and clearly labeled. The venue is clean and it just looks really nice overall. They don't have their own lot, you'll have to find street parking. There's a municipal lot a few blocks away. read more

I travel here from Staten Island often for my favorite bands. It's an intimate smaller than usual venue. I especially love the attached lounge area as a pre show hang out. You have to opportunity to even stay there for an entire show and watch it on multiple televisions scattered around. I was there last night for Hot Tuna and was at the lounge prior to show. I was disappointed to find that the bar prices seem to be inconsistent within the bar same amongst the bar tenders. I never in my life was charged $14 for a bottom shelf shot!!! My friend wasn't drinking, yet they refused to give her a glass of water so had to purchase one for $5. When I inquired about the total, the bar tender couldn't justify it. There was discrepancy within a 5 feet bar between both bar tenders. Do you up the price depending upon the band?? It's important to be knowledgable about drink making but bar tenders also need management skills. A bar tender was trying to shoo away a very drunk woman. There are certain strategies to use when dealing with drunks to get them to comply. Clearly the bartenders approach wasn't working so I took it upon myself to get her water and warn her that she may get thrown out by security. I walked her back to her seat. Overall I love the place. It's very informal. You are allowed to stand and dance on the sides. read more

Amazing new venue, great sound, good service and just an overall impressive music hall. Zero complaints from me. The building is decorated in a surprisingly classy way with nice details and style. Staff was professional, bathrooms were clean, drink lines went quickly, plenty of coat checks, nice size outdoor area for taking a break, GA, loge, and balcony choices and most importantly awesome sound - the acoustics are spot on! Gorgeous space right in the center of Westbury! Incredible acoustics! Magnificent venue to see anyone! We had reserved orchestra seats - but they are so well organized I am sure that most GA functions are just as grand! If there is Any flaw it's that the restrooms are downstairs - parking is street and there are tons of municipal lots 1 block away. We saw the Mavericks there last night - incredible!!!! No opening band- 9 piece band that rocked the house for over 3 hours! Cannot wait to go back! A perfectly wonderful intimate venue to see your favorite artists! read more

Very nice venue. It's small enough to feel a good connection to the performers. The seating was comfortable and the sound system was excellent. The parking was awesome- there were people guiding you to municipal parking lots and it was a breeze. It was a very hassle free experience. I would be happy to go back. read more

Once again have been to a show at the Space, and I have to say, it is a great venue, the sound is great, both GA floor and seats are very good. But once again was disappointed with beer selection. Every other venue I have visited far surpasses. Great sound, cool venue, (though parking sometimes a problem), but bad beer. read more

This space was booked for a the HALL OF FAME dance competition this weekend. There were hundreds of people crammed into this venue. The air conditioning was broken and we were told NO ONE was able to get in touch with the owner to fix it because he was observing Shabbat. The venue was way too small to accommodate. The MC of the event almost passed out on stage as other as asthmatic children were coming off saying they couldn't breath. Makeshift dressing rooms in the lower area had 20-30+ kids an and parents shoved inside with NO AIR. This was a health violation, a fire hazard and lets not forget a covid super spreader. I would definitely be cautious when attending any event in this space during a weekend knowing on site staff has no access to anyone that can fix a problem. read more

The poor rating is based on abusive pricing. The room itself is quite nice. A number of the artists such as Galactic and Robert Randolf pack NYC venues, but out in the burbs they don't draw as well so fans have an opportunity to see some major acts in a nice room with low crowd density. Many shows are general admission but for some acts such as Pat Metheny, they bring out chairs and it's assigned seating, which I prefer. Now the rub. Parking, drinks, food and coat checks are abusively priced rip offs. $10 for parking. It used to be free and if it filled up you parked 3, 4, 5, 6 blocks away. Now that they charge, all the side street residential parking in any reasonable distance is gone quickly. Drinks. A measured shot (the little plastic medicine cups) for $12. A cocktail is one of those over ice with a mixer. Don't plan to catch a buzz there unless you want to drop $50-70 a person. A can of Pabst Blue Ribbon is $6. Food. A fairly lame hot dog for $5. A pretzel for the same and a bags of chips. Eat before you go. Coat check. LEAVE YOUR OUTERWEAR IN YOUR CAR!!! $3 per item!! So, if you want value, eat and drink elsewhere, get there very early and park in the street and don't go in harsh weather so you don't need to bring your outerwear. read more

Came here for the John Mulaney and the Tracy Morgan show a few months back. Both sets were really fun and I really like this venue. I'm absolutely obsessed with the chandeliers that they have in the performance hall. All the renovations to the place were done in great taste! The first balcony seats are great if you can get seats in the front row. We had these for Tracy Morgan. We sat in the 3rd row on the floor for John Mulaney and had a spectacular view. Hint on the seats, though, if you're in the front row on the very ends, you're literally staring at a wall. Really shitty seats. Take seats a row or two back in the middle over these! All the staff here is very helpful although bar service is a little slow. Great hall, can't wait to come back! read more

This is one of the nicer music venues I've been to, and I've been to a lot. The front lobby is so lush and cozy, perfect for grabbing a beverage and meeting up with friends before the show. There are a few bars to choose from so it's not a madhouse to get a drink. Perfect size, the sound was great and the GA floor was a good view from any angle. The show I saw wasn't sold out so I got right up to the stage. Staff was very polite and the bathrooms were super clean. Free parking right across the street was nice. Only problem I can foresee is the inside bar getting pretty loud during sold out shows. I prefer when the bars are separated from the performance space, but overall, great place to see a show. read more

The outside doesn't look like much but the place inside is absolutely gorgeous!! Great space to see any type of show. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. Great lighting, great decor, great sound system. Long bar in the show room, with another bar in the lobby, bathrooms upstairs as well as downstairs. Comfortable seating although the space between the chair infront of you is not much. Very clean venue. Everyone was really friendly. We don't live in the area but if we did we'd go back to that venue to see another show. We were in town to see Sway from Dance With Me. read more

I came here for the Miguel concert and the venue was really nice but in comparison to The Paramount - The Paramount is a lot better. The Paramount has a newer feel to it, the sounds was much better and the drinks aren't that expensive. I order Jameson on the rocks and it was $11 and it took me two sips to finish it - what are we in NYC?! At least venues in the city provide a reasonable amount of alcohol. The bartenders were nice. Overall, an okay experience and I will probably pregame next time. Haha! read more

so here i am at the space to see a johnny lang and buddy guy show. my tickets are for the orchestra, within the first 5 rows. When i arrive they have removed all the seats and turned the entire floor section into general admission. Bait and switch. No compensation or apology. I can't see much, not really tall enough. Just left the Shining Stars and Beginning's Band. Was completely blown away. This is the first time I had been there since the 1970's. Yes the 1970's when the venue was a movie theater. The bands were off the charts. It was a great evening and I can't wait to go back. The energy was electrifying. I knew I would love the Shining Star band but had no idea I would be totally in love with Begging's band. Great fun night. Thanks The Space. Keep signing on great entertainment. read more

This place is the worse to see a show. We were seated in the middle section and couldn't see anything. I stood for the majority of the show. I paid $87 for tickets to the So You Think You Can Dance tour so I expected to have decent seats. Especially since we weren't in the back. read more

The venue is visually beautiful. The set up to go in is another story. "Doors open at 10pm"...we didnt enter venue until almost 11pm. Most places have signs that tell you where your seating area is. Attended Kenny Wayne Shepherd and paid for loge seats$95 and could not see a thing. Had to leave my seats after opening act and go down to the floor which would have been much cheaper. Everyone other than the tall people in the front complained and left their seats. Acoustics terrible and even though I have been there before will not go back. This is twice disappointed was there Wednesday for Lang and Buddy Guy and had the same problem. Hope KWS considers another venue. read more

Cool music venue! The interior of the theater is really awesome in a raw sort of way. Tall exposed brick walls that pick up the lights perfectly and create a warm ambiance. The bar in the front is amazingly decorated, an old timey film vibe with so many hidden pieces of decoration you keep finding new things every surface you look at! When we were there (to see Gogol Bordello and Man Man) the main floor was empty of seats allowing for a fun concert standing section with a bar off to the right for drink refreshments without having to leave the music. There is also a seated section in the back if you're into that sort of thing. Parking was free and right across the street. Can't wait for another act I want to see to tour through so I can make another trip out. read more

I love this venue. Pbr's are only $6. What other concert venue has beer that cheap? You can often find ticket deals through Groupon for some of the shows. Head to Friars tavern on the next corner before or after the show for drinks. Sometimes the band will show up there after the concert. read more

I was here twice this weekend. The place is beautiful. The room has a very live sound which requires a better sound person. First, the volume level was rediculous. The bass was too much. You can tell that the sound system is very good, but the mixing needs work. Joe Rock and the all stars opened for Southside Johnny. They can play but the volume was stupid loud. ( I do like music loud, but this was beyond rediculous). Southside the mix was just a little better. The sound gets muddled and really takes away from what the band is putting out there. Southside and the Jukes are a great band and I think that they and the audience were short changed by the sound mix. Hopefully the sound will be resolved because it is a very nice venue. Municipal parking is close by and free. read more

Horrifying. Was there last night for what should have been an intimate performance (two singers with guitars. No drums, no bass, etc.) but couldn't hear a thing because a group of 15-20 drunk women were screeching at the bar. They were repeatedly asked to be quiet but were obstinate in their refusal screaming sloppily, "it's a concert!" Staff and security were asked to address this multiple times but did nothing. A couple of guys showed up for the last two songs to harass the people standing in the aisle who were actually trying to listen to the music but did nothing about the screeching drunk sorority. The performers even commented on it but the drunk group was too busy being basic to care. I've emailed and asked for a refund since my seats were so close to the bar that I literally couldn't hear anything. read more

Great venue. Beautiful space and excellent acoustics. And in a great area surrounded by shops and restaurants.

This is a gorgeous venue! It is well conceived, unique, comfortable and has everything to be the area's premier concert space, BUT... the audio mixer should be fired. The room is very live with lots of natural room reverb and my ears and head were ringing and hurting in the first 10 minutes of the show. Way too much overall volume and too much reverb on the vocals, which were either too far out front or buried, but mostly the entire mix was a mess due to a complete misuse of vocal effects and lack of proper balance. The pain to my head and ears was caused by a mix that has far too much mid-range and treble. The other thing that was surprising was the amount of time it took for him to respond to adjustments to music cues, such as changes in vocalists or musical solos. I heard people commenting about the poor performance, when, in fact, the musicians were doing a great job....it was the sound may have costs the artists new fans and that is unfortunate. It was also interesting to note the number of times the engineer was using headphones to mix. He was fiddling with the board the entire time and never seemed to realize what was happening. Thank goodness, this is not hard to fix...just find a better sound person! Of all possible problems in a live entertainment venue, this is the easiest to fix!!! I note many other comments include "great sound system"....I don't believe the system is a problem, just this particular operator. Wasn't excited that it stated "doors open at 7PM. Starts at 8PM" but the bar opened at 7pm and seating started at 8PM. But, that's a minor point. read more

I remember attending movies (titanic) here in 6th grade with my fellow classmates so to see this iconic spot develop into such a wonderful event space makes me so happy. My family and I went here to see Preservantion Hall for a late Father's Day gift and we were BLOWN AWAY at the space (no pun intended), acoustics led the room, the thought process of how they can manipulate the room to be used for different events (I.e would be a really funky wedding space), etc. I have been keeping my eye on who's coming so I can get back there asap. Definitely check it out!! read more
