I have had fairly positive experiences with the Buffalo Police Department. I remember one time in the middle of the night in the snow they pulled up next to us and asked what the hell we were doing. We told them we were out looking for stiffs - kinkier than it sounds, it means pizzas that people didn't pick up that we could get on the cheap, at pizzeria closing time - and when they heard that I was English they said "off with your heads!" As in, drive away. And then they drove away. Like teens who'd just made a joke and wanted to run away right after making it. Another time I called from England to ask them to go check on my gf because she'd told me a man was coming at her on a payphone, and had run off. And I hadn't heard from her in hours. So I called the cops long distance, and they sent a car to her house. I definitely like the Buffalo police a lot more than I like the suburban Police, that's for sure. And they have a lot more sh*t to deal with if you think about it. Yet unlike a lot of the suburbs they don't have militarized equipment and small town attitudes. And a lower budget. And better professionalism. And lower wages. Can you believe this sh**? If you like - this is where you work in Western New York if you are a real cop LOL. City Of Buffalo. After all, do the real cops work out on Long Island and in Westchester County? Or do they work in NYC? Exactly. Before you get offended - I have friends who are Amherst police and state troopers, so I know that they won't take it personally, and what's more I'm pretty sure they agree with me. In fact I'm pretty sure they're part of the reason why I see Buffalo cops the way I do. In fact they told me to say this. Basically.

I prefer a US Kiss to a USCIS, because after all, American girls are my fave in the world…read more I don't have much bad to say about them because they gave me my citizenship and while the whole process can be a total nightmare in most parts of the country, it's great that Buffalo expedites things and keep things moving and has one of the lowest turnaround times in the whole country, which saved several months and possibly even years of my life. And my personal experience was slightly better than my overall opinion of them. They did a good job processing me, partly thanks to my lawyer, and it was a lot less painless than I thought it would be. It's still not a very professional service and the guards at the border... terrible... however for my actual citizenship process they did a good job and personally I am grateful that it's over.

There aren't many city halls as majestic and beautiful as Buffalo's…read more It has a unique profile and makes the skyline magical. If you have the opportunity, take one of the free guided tours so you can learn more about the history, architecture and building of this masterpiece. There are so many incredible details and so much outstanding art. You can view it on your own (there is some signage about what it is) but you really get a better understanding and experience if you take one of the tours. They are offered on weekdays at noon and are free! The 13th floor houses the council chambers and there is a gorgeous sunburst skylight that is absolutely worth seeing. The thing not to miss is the observation deck. The views from the 28th floor are simply spectacular! You will have to take some stairs to reach the observation level, so keep that in mind if you have difficulty with mobility. Whether you tour the inside or just catch a glimpse from the street of the majestic columns and imposing structure, don't come to Buffalo and miss a visit to City Hall!

One person at the kiosk where you sign in, and by the time they were done, and it was my turn to sign in the party waiting for their number to be called was heading to a window. More like the US Culthouse…read more This towering building in downtown Buffalo is perhaps the newest-looking and most modern structure in the city. It looks more like it was just built in Frankfurt or Hong Kong or any one of the shiny new downtowns full of skyscrapers around the world. As glorious as it looks, I don't like what goes on here. I've only been in and out of here once, but I don't like the way I was treated, not on the way in, not while inside, and not by mail before and after that day. In fact I find the whole system to be a little corrupt, but in Buffalo and NY State in general, the problem is quite deep-rooted. But the building is beautiful, and futuristic, and magnificent, so I'll begrudgingly give it 3 stars. So concludes my review of the US C***house.
