We had several sessions with the providers who were excellent. Things were finished up and we received my daughter's evaluation. That is where their professionalism and - quite frankly - competence ended. We received a medical bill from the facility for our portion not covered by insurance. I called in to clarify a couple items on the invoice and was satisfied with the answers so I paid the bill. I also asked specifically if that would take care of everything. The woman on the telephone assured me that yes, it would. About a month and a half later, we received what appeared to be the exact same bill. Now having already paid it and having already called the center, I naturally assumed that this was simply a duplicate, so I paid it no mind. The very next piece of correspondence I received from Rosenberg was the most amateur and legally non-compliant collection letter that I have seen in years (I work on credit and collection compliance for a law firm in town - so this is literally what I see every day and represent clients on against collectors who violate he law). The notice was sent in a non standard envelope, with specific account, medical details and collection details visible from outside the envelope and through the envelope window for all to see. This was both an FDCPA violation and a HIPAA violation. I contacted Rosenberg's billing department on an attempt to clarify the situation. (Oh Rosenberg, side note - we digitally recorded our calls, so I have those. That will prove fun for you). I spoke with their billing representative who was hostile from the word hello. She refused to allow me to talk to anyone else and kept making excuses for why they were in the right. After a NUMBER of derogatory statements from her, she finally told me a supervisor or partner - she kept switching what she was calling them - would be calling me within days. I never received the call. Fast forward to today. I receive a letter from rodenburg stating that they are terminating us as patients for being "disrespectful to staff" and will no longer be helping our autistic child. I have recordings of the calls. I was planning to provide them to the supervisor but now I intend to provide them to the courts as I intend to sue these people to make an example of them for treating a family o a child with special needs this way. I find this disappointing but there is big money in fleecing the disabled - and it seems Rosenberg just wanted a piece of the action. Quacks and cons don't belong in the same circles of Autistic special needs children. The sad thing is this, it wasn't about money. It was like a hundred dollars - less than my Chinese takeout last night. I have no issue paying a bill. It is about the crazy incompetence in their billing and their disrespect for their vulnerable patients. We decided to give family counseling another go although our youngest teen I mentioned was against it. The counselor "N"was almost 15 minutes late and provided neither an apology or excuse. My other teen said she was probably reviewing our file and prepping for our session but when we finally got started N was clueless as to why we were there. Wouldn't they ask these questions before the first session? It's not so much what she said but her attitude that made us feel we were not clients but instead an inconvenience or an annoyance. She kept looking at a clock and seemed to be in a hurry to wrap up the session well before our hour was up even though we started late. N was dressed like she just came from a 90's grunge rock fest and wasn't what I would have considered proper attire for a professional counselor. If N was great at her job I wouldn't have minded though. She made things worse, not better. She set my wife and I back a long way with our troubled teen. N jumped to conclusions without bothering to find out all the facts. For example, she accused me of being a "bully" with my youngest. She stated I needed to try other approaches to parenting but never offered any suggestions. Okay, I realize I'm not Ward Cleaver, I make parenting mistakes but I do the best I can and I have tried many different methods when it comes to parenting my troubled teen. The issue I have with this is N didn't bother to find out what types of emotional issues my youngest is dealing with nor what kinds of different "approaches" we have tried with her in the past before rendering her "bully" verdict. This will truly undermine what authority my wife and I have left with our youngest as she now thinks disobeying our house rules is akin to standing up to bullies. Maybe N was just having a bad day I don't know but she certainly needs to reassess her career choice if our family session her norm. N asked us at the end of the session if we wanted to come back. Thanks, but we will look elsewhere for help or try to sort it out ourselves.

Finding available therapists and sometimes scheduling can be difficult, but that is only due to the high demand right now. A good sign that people are seeking help but not so easy for businesses who are trying their hardest to help everyone they can. My kids' therapist has even made emergency appointments if needed and genuinely CARES about their wellbeing. After years of ineffective therapy with other counselors, I feel absolutely blessed that we found Solutions. On the "technical" side for those of you considering this company, I feel I must mention that they actually have specialists in certain areas - this is not common for some conditions and has literally saved lives. Not that our previous therapists weren't great people who truly wanted to help, but sometimes you need someone who has an area of expertise in order to thoroughly address a problem. If you feel you are being under-served by your current counselor, don't be afraid to reach out and see if they can help you. Additional Notes: 1) The new building has an area just for kids that is stocked with books and a TV. Great for me to be able to keep my littlest ones occupied - none of our previous offices had this and I had to wrangle them in the car for 2 hours or chase them down halls bothering other sessions -- not fun!! 2) There is no front office staff on-site at the moment (June 2018) but I'm not sure if that's only at certain hours or if it's permanent. I personally don't mind at all and love that I can carry on a conversation without worrying about disrupting phone calls. 3) If you're an exhausted parent like me, they have a real, working coffee maker, woo!! Again, not available at previous offices. 4) Now, I'm a realist and I know all offices carry bugs from all the people in and out, but this place is CLEAN. Like, eat off the floor clean. They don't cancel appointments on me as I am travelling to said appointment and they seem to do a pretty good job of communicating my needs to chemists/pharmacists (I have some pretty odd allergies). Dr. Lori and her team have done more for my whole-body/life health in the last 6 months than Nystrom and others did in a combination of 14+years. I only wish I had switched sooner! I love their flexibility and non-guilt-trip attitude when the rare occasion does occur such as you were called in to work and will be unable to make an appointment. My single gripe is that scheduling appointments can take a little longer than you'd want. You can spend quite a while standing there. I don't know what a receptionist job there entails, but I feel like there's probably a way to streamline that. Yay FLMHC! I love your no-nonsense approach to helping others!
