O'Connell's is a glorious little Irish pub, whose high-partition bar counter makes me reminisce of some of the pubs I have frequented when visiting Ireland. You can easily walk inside the pub and feel like you have walked into a pub located in Galway. Perched on Drayton Street in the heart of downtown Savannah, O'Connell's is smaller than you would think when you enter. Inside is fairly boxy, with the high partition bar to the right where you order drinks and can stand and place your said drinks on the addition counter spacing. To the left you will find a long booth with two tables, and a smaller booth next to the bathrooms. The bar offers an extensive array of Irish whiskeys that aren't usually stocked at other bars such as those in the surrounding area, which I dug. I mean when you can look across the bar and see Spot bottles by Mitchell & Sons, you know this pub means business. The staff behind are incredible efficient and friendly. We went there during the St. Paddy's parade and they had drinks made fast with a smile. Our main bartender even took a picture of us in between making and serving drinks. Pretty cool. If you visiting or living in the Savannah area, O'Connell's is a must-stop for bars to visit.

Best pub in Savannah, one of my favorites in the ENTIRE US. If you want a true Irish pub experience look no further than O'Connell's. As someone who comes to Savannah off and on for work since 2017, O'Connells is my 2nd home where the pints are poured perfectly, bartenders, such as Danno,Dirk, Tyler and Sunday(the lads I have met) will make your experience top notch . Be prepared to show your ID (Savannah rule) and engage with the regulars young and old who will make you feel like a long lost friend if you are feeling social. Last night I brought my brand new fiancé there to celebrate our engagement, that happened only hours prior, and a wonderful lad bought us all a shot of lovely Jameson. Cheers ! O'Connell's is what EVERY pub needs to be ! Don't miss out and support this incredible place !

A very traditional small Irish bar in the heart of Savannah! Very cozy and friendly - ambience is amazing with lots of interesting memorabilia giving it an old world charm. For seating , they have benches with high walls that section off one group for another. They also have quirky stools made of large milk canisters! The bar only serves beverages but they do have a lot of variety ! If you intend to eat something, the staff will recommend some great places nearby . This is one of the places you'll see a lot of regulars and make friends ! The service is excellent as well! Location & Parking : The location is great : it's just off Broughton street on Drayton, a step away from Leopold's and Naan Appetite! However, parking is a challenge on weekends - there are paid parking lots which generally fill up beyond 8:30pm on weekends Covid protocols: The bar and rest rooms are very clean. Since Savannah gets tourists from all over the country and no one is masked, the bar now has a divider made of glass as precautions against COVID-19 .

Solid Irish bar. Cool atmosphere, not a lot of custies, lots of construction out front. Cider and Guinness, don't need much else.

Local spot with good foot traffic. Starts slow but they pour a good imperial punt. Don't pass it by.

No food! Over priced drinks, reviews were good but lies. The place could fit 20 people. Paid 36$ for 3 drinks.

Place is fantastic. Great selection of beer. Good bartenders. The best sriracha pickle back I've ever had.

Even though the kitchen was already closed, she went out of her way to make sure I was able to get something to eat. She didn't have to do that--it was simply an act of genuine kindness. Great bartenders don't just pour drinks; they make people feel welcome, cared for, and seen. Farah did exactly that. Her positive attitude, willingness to help, and exceptional customer service made all the difference. If you're lucky enough to have Farah taking care of you, you're in great hands. This pub was about a 10 minute walk from the Residence Inn so not bad at all. We arrived a little after 9:30pm and the place was busy in the bar area but plenty of seating in the dining area. We were immediately greeted and able to secure a spot within 2-4 minutes of arriving. You can tell this is a place where visitors patronize but there are also locals who were familiar with the bartender and had history. The bartender was lively and said whatever you want to drink if I have the ingredients I can make it. Old speckled hen and tenets on tap but no other English beer options. More of a variety of Irish beers. If you are seeking your traditional fish and chips as my lovely partner was this is not the place as they do not have fries, anything battered or fried on the menu. We ordered a open faced pot roast sandwich to share and it was a generous portion, meat was tender, gravy was tasty but if expecting roast in the sense of carrots, onions, parsnips this was just meat and gravy. However, I truly enjoyed it and the mashed potatoes were not instant and very tasty and filling. We felt welcomed, cozy and they were thorough on ID's which I appreciated. If ever in the area again we would return as they stayed open until midnight.

I definitely do not regret our decision as we had a great meal. The interior ambiance of the restaurant truly transports to another place, it is truly beautiful. Our server was so gentle and gave us many recommendations on things to try and even accommodated some of requests. We started with the Espresso Martini and non-alcoholic French 75 (my first time) and these were both great. For appetizers, we had the crab croquettes (cakes), escargots and caesar salad. Everything was delicious (including the complimentary bread) , and to our surprise the Caesar salad had a nice crunch with the addition of fried frog leg pieces (if I'm not mistaken). The main entrees were the stars of the night, while we were originally inclined to try their Steak & Frites, our server recommended the steak tips sautéed over mushroom sauce with pasta and this was the perfect match instead of the classical French fries pairing. We also had the Supreme Roasted Chicken with caramelized veggies and everything was cooked to perfection. We did not leave without dessert and tried their Créme Brûlée, and while it was runnier than usual, the flavor was there. We thought it needed more time. Overall a great experience while in Savannah!
