Denied access into the building due to my service dog, even after showing documentation. Legal action will be followed.

Dirty with poor staff. Bring your money elsewhere. Anywhere. There are far better places for drinks and entertainment in the area.

It's a dive bar. That really sums it up. No food, limited seating, darts, etc. Drinks were surprisingly good and well priced. No complaints.

Instead, I opted for the crab cakes appetizer which they touted as a signature dish. I was disappointed to find that the cakes were mostly filler and harbored no lumps of crab at all. They were very much like the ones you get frozen at the store. For $18, I expected more. The fried shrimp were okay but not exceptional. The potatos were mashed red skin. This was a very average experience and okay for a fast bute but wouldnt go out of my way to eat there.

Curds were so undercooked, they came to the table flat. Pimento was flavorful, but soupy - how on absolute earth do you make watery pimento cheese? Entrees were good. There is a lot of seating here - good for large groups. Waitress spilled a lot of my martini on the way to delivering & as she placed it on the table. She was very pleasant, but shouldn't the spilled half of my drink be replaced? Don't use the QR code to pay!!!! I used it, received "pending" confirmation from my credit card, & manager asked me to let them run it manually because she wasn't "sure if it went through" because their system doesn't tell them. She wasn't polite, but i wasn't really given an option: I had to pay twice because they don't know their own system. I now have two Dugan's charges still pending .... Time will only tell if I'm going to have to take my time to call the restaurant to get them to fix it.

I dropped by one afternoon to check out this new pub in North Raleigh and I was delighted to find…read morehow cozy it was and how hospitable and sweet the owners, Kevin and Stephanie, are. The decor in The Winchester Pub is unique in the fact that they don't have all the stereotypical, tacky beer signage that others have and the bar is completely handmade by Kevin himself (it's gorgeous). Their selection of beers on tap is primo -- you won't see any of the over-served blah beers of other bars. Instead, you'll find a finely curated selection that boasts a variety of tastes. If you're not into beer, there are also a few bottles of wine you can choose to have a glass of. There's a small selection of canned brews you can purchase from the display case in the front of the pub, back of the pub, and in the refrigerated unit in the rear, as well as cider, spiked coffee malt beverages, alcoholic seltzers, and beer kegs. Surprisingly, there's even some bagged coffee! If you fancy bringing some pub merch home, there are branded mugs for sale. Above the bar, there are mounted TV screens, perfect for enjoying local sports games (especially European soccer matches on the weekends). Plenty of backed barstools surround the bar, and there's a line of round, leather-topped stools along the back wall. If stools aren't your cup of tea, there are two cozy leather couches you can lounge on: one in the front (by the entrance) and one in the back (next to a pool table)! If you're not craving any booze, there's a water cooler in the front of the pub and canned sodas in the fridge (Sprite and Coke). If you're feeling playful, there are couple of board games on the one of the beer display shelves by the entrance (beneath the framed red jersey). I'm more of a cider kind of girl, so Kevin suggested a fantastic, locally-owned cider out of Pittsboro, NC: "Chatham Cider Works Highway 64". It was sweet, light, bubbly, and strong, especially at 10% ABV (so, watch out!). My husband and I both sampled the "Fullsteam Igor Cake" Pastry Stout (9% ABV), which was super sweet. Hubby ended up ordering the "Casita Home Sweet Home" Imperial Stout (10% ABV), which had a cake-like flavor, was super smooth, and not too sweet. No foods are currently served here, but there are some snacks for sale behind the bar and you are more than welcome to bring in your own noms to accompany any drinks your order. From the cooler, I bought and tried: - Brown Bomber Mocha Hard Latte - flavored malt beverage (5% ABV) made with 100% Arabica coffee and milk. It's recommended to shake well and serve over ice. It was soooo creamy, chocolatey, and delicious -- you can't even tell that there is alcohol in it! - Brown Bomber Vanilla Hard Latte - same as the previous, but vanilla-flavored - Sound Craft Rosé Seltzer (5% ABV) - super smooth and tasting of freshly pressed blackberries, I could not tell that there was alcohol in it! If you're looking for a cozy spot to throw back a pint as you unwind from work, you've found the perfect place!

Despite arriving over an hour before the match started, every seat at the bar was already taken. And there are no tables so if you aren't fortunate enough to get a bar seat, you're SOL. I saw one or two bar patrons eyeing me weirdly, like I was invading their home space. So I decided to just leave. Per the online menu, they do have over a dozen drafts available, but I didn't get to try any of them. So disappointing.

I was so intrigued I looked up the history of the building, and the automotive companies that inhabited the building before the restaurant. Were you around when the Pontiac show room always had a white Christanas tree in the main window for Christmas? The food was upscale pub food. The Onion rings were delicious. The Sloppy Joes were memerable and I loved my chicken salad. Most importantly, the drinks were great. I would love to stop by again.

We went to Five Points Public house for a weekday lunch and only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The food was good, the interior architecture is nice to look at, and we will be back. The restaurant is a mix of booths and tables with chairs. You can tell the building is old, but had been tastefully worked into a restaurant by the age on the exposed brick within. The whole front of the restaurant faces one of the main roads for downtown, and has large windows that bring in tons of natural light. This place is good for a date night, a group gathering, or anything in between. There's even some bar seating if that's your thing. Our table got the French dip and a make-your-own burger. The French dip was easily shared by my little and me, as the portion size was large. The build-your-own-burger comes exactly as you want it, cooked to your temperature preference, but I will say the patty could have had more seasoning on it. The onion rings are amazing, and the onion adheres perfectly to the batter. One thing I hope to be able to use in the future is the Pontiac Room, which is their second story event space. They have a nice sign that gives details about the space, and I truly believe it would be good for wedding receptions, large parties, or large group gatherings. I don't know if there is an elevator to this space, so you'd need to check on that should your group have mobility concerns. Overall, this is a place that we will bring the whole crew to in the future.
