Examples: The guardian engaged a psychologist for my alienated children. I found out through the guardian's invoice. I found out that mediation talks were progressing through my invoice. I found out that a second mediation was in the works through an invoice 3 months later, even though another is not required. Mediated agreement was never submitted as an order of the court. When the mother refused to follow the agreement we signed, she could not be held in contempt of court. I had to get a temporary hearing with a new lawyer, where I was finally able to get temporary custody and have this submitted as an order. 5 months of violations were not acted upon, and no longer qualified as an emergency. I had to wait for additional violations to get a temporary hearing. When I changed lawyers, I also discovered that most of the new evidence was never added to my case file. The discovery period expired without filing for records, so the opposing counsel was able to block all attempts to get official school and medical records. There was no movement in this case for months, but once I changed attorneys, I got a lot of traction, was able to get in front of a judge, and gain temporary custody until a final hearing could be set.

He agreed to give me the house outright and she put in the papers he was to get 30%. She never went over the papers, I had to proofread and catch it myself. She never went over any of the papers, I had to read it and try and interpret it myself. She stayed busy during our whole appointment and never once sat down with us. I caught the part about the house and questioned her about it, she said since he didn't have an attorney, it would look fishy to the judge and she "had to protect her name." She also had me making more than I do and my ex husband making less on the child support sheet. I pointed it out, and had to fight her to change that as well. Originally I was to get less than $200 for 2 kids, and I had to FIGHT my attorney for more, even though he was there and willing to sign corrected documents. My divorce was completely uncontested and they charged me thousands. I spent over a thousand just to fight her to fight for me, yes I was charged for that too. She stayed on the phone longer trying to give me personal advice, charged for that. I even had problems selling the house because of Lolita's failure to care about her clients. I got so screwed over in the divorce by my OWN attorney. Complaining won't do you any good, they'll say your divorce is complete "and we wish you the very best." I used to deliver to this office for years and had a good working relationship with these people, that means nothing. Please do yourself a favor and keep looking for an attorney that will actually have your best interests at heart.
