I found this place because I was looking for a new, local place to try for Valentines Day. The menu looked good, had food my significant other would eat, was local to me, and the prices seemed reasonable. The location and lack of parking should have given me a cue as to what to expect inside. We went to the dining room entrance door, which was locked. A sign on that door directed you to use the bar entrance around the side. (Side note: we went at lunch time.) Upon entering, my first impression was, wow, it's dark and smoky in here. Because the transition lenses in my glasses were as dark as possible, I took them off to see and was hit by the low lighting and the incredible stench of a bar that clearly allows smoking. I'm pretty sure not one of the 4 people (2 patrons at the bar and 2 working) even looked at us, let alone offered a greeting. After maybe a minute or two, we turned around and left. The friendliest person we saw was the guy outside sitting on the bench by the bar entrance. He had watched us park, walk in, and walk back out. He simply said to us, "Too bad the place isn't what it used to be." He also said that they probably would have served us if we had walked back to the dining room, but they mostly do take-out now. O'Hallorans is a national treasure. I have never found wings the likes the their Charlie Wings anywhere else in the country. There are variations in the local area, but. these are THE BEST. I live across the country and still dream about these wings. Also it's a wonderful pub, and they got Yuengling. read more

Yes, It's a dive. Yes, there is smoking inside. Yes, the clientele isn't the most clean cut. But those are things I don't care about when I visit an establishment. I want friendly service, good food, and decent priced drinks. I get all of that at O'Hallorans. There isn't many dive bars in Lancaster that deliver on all the good things of a dive bar on a consistent basis. The food is really good and some of the best wings in the city. The drafts are always under $2 for a special and there is a juke box ! Did you leave your house or pretentious shithole bar yet ? Because you should. The wings were excellent! I had bbq/hot wings and the spice grew as I worked my way through -perfect. No fake smoke flavoring in the sauce. The wings were meaty and crisp on the outside, just right. My friend had garlic and parmesan wings which were outstanding - the garlic tasted like fine garlic butter with none of the chemically aftertaste associated with pre-chopped, jarred garlic. The price was fine. I plan on heading back on a Tuesday for wing and beer special. The bar was very smokey, which I didn't think was still legal... I spent two weeks in Lancaster two years ago for training. It was Monday evening and I was looking for a place to get a good bar sandwich and a beer. I went here based on positive reviews. As other reviewers have said, this is a dive in every sense of the word and not the kind of place I would want to be late on a Friday night, but it's definitely worth a visit if you have an appreciation for good pub food. I pulled up a seat at the bar and immediately noticed the smoke and the conversation taking place to my left where every other word was F***. I thought "what in the world did I get myself into?" What I got myself into was one of the best "bar meals" I ever had before or since. I ordered a Reuben and fries and to this day it might the best Reuben I've ever had in my life and I've had many over the years. Many people have good Reuben's, but I can only think of one other place who's Reuben is on the same level as what you get at O'Halloran's. The fries were fresh cut and seemed to have been cooked in fresh grease, which I appreciated. I told the bartender how amazing the food was and she informed me that everything on their menu is homemade and that when they put out their menu consisting of Irish specialties, you can't get a table without reservations. read more

Nope. So much nope. If you do find yourself here, don't get the wings. The wings were soggy and flavour was horrible. Big and fatty. None of the people in my party were remotely satisfied, yet even impressed with their meals. A good dive is a good dive, but this is diving in the shallow end. read more

This place was horrible.. we had a male bartender who did a outstanding job and I hate typing this because he also works there. But the owner/ girl bartender. Only served her regulars damn near the whole time. My husband and I sat at the bar and waiting almost 40 minutes before we were even greeted. She kept serving all her regulars over and over again. Finally my husband had to track her down to get us a drink and she half assed out my orange crush and threw it in front of me. She treated her employee like absolute shit . He asked if she need anything before he left and with attitude she said "if you think everything is good you can leave but if not I'll be sure to let you know" meanwhile he's working 45 minutes his schedule time. She was absolutely rude to him. I wouldn't recommend giving her business any money. She also shows up in a short skirt with her butt hanging out and her tummy. Super unprofessional . read more

This place has CHEAP DRINKS!! You can get loaded here for less then you would spend almost anywhere else. Very blue collar place, don't expect to get into a conversation about world events or history here (unless your talking NASCAR). I don't think you would want to see the place with the lights up, but if your looking for a cheap place for last call check it out. read more

Total dive, perfect in every way. I've never been to the bar side, but the restaurant is super cozy if not fancy, and the food is fantastic for the price. My husband loves the wings, I usually order corned beef or fish and chips. Seems like a nice warm place to get a drink on a fall evening. read more

Had the Shepard's Pie yesterday and it was awful! Just a pile of cooked ground beef with a pile of mashed potatos thrown on top. It was not baked at all just two foods thrown on top of each other. No vegetables or anything not even onions or salt and pepper! I gagged and threw it away. Not the first time that I got inedible food from here so DO NOT eat here. I've read some of the snotty reviews of this place and laughed. Those types of people will not be found here, which is one of the reasons for a four star rating. It's a neighborhood bar people, if you feel like you'll get beat up there then you are probably a tool. This place has some of the best bar food. With a big menu, nothing ever tastes frozen. The boneless chicken wings are great, tons of flavors to choose from and they are cheap. This is what we want in a neighborhood bar. Good cheap food, NO PRETENTIOUS JERKS, the bar allows smoking and you can order food at the bar(restaurant is no smoking), friendly staff and long hours. The Shepherd's Pie and daily desserts are unusually good, even for an Irish Pub. You can feel comfortable bringing a family to the restaurant side, it's completely separate from the bar. Even on weeknights the bar side is pretty active with a big variety of people. Everyone (unless you are the special kind of person that thinks when you visit an urban bar you'll get your car broken into) can fit in here. I live a block from this bar and one, I have never got my car broken into, two, I have never been beat up. The only odd thing is that they don't take credit cards but they do have an ATM in the bar. read more
