Absolutely nasty. The hallways smelled great but the rooms had a sick odor. The maintenance guy was super nice and knew right away what to do as he had some kind of fumigation he just grabbed and put in my room for half an hour, basically just sprays a nice scent for a while. The worst hotel room I've every stayed in. Toilet didn't flush, heavy smoking on no-smoking floor, food and dirt on the floors and walls, holes in the walls, a general fear for my safety, etc. etc. Checked out after one night of a four night stay and was initially told that we would be refunded for the three next nights, only to be charged for the full stay and to be told we need to speak to the manager to process a refund - and then to be told the manager does not have a phone number and that the employees never when the manager will be in. I stayed at the O'Hare Inn and Suites at 4101 Mannheim Rd, Schiller Park, IL 60176 on Friday 5/31/24. I checked in but did not stay the two nights I was scheduled to, leaving within a few hours of checking in. I have a list of complaints about the health and safety problems of the room I was in (Room 215). Some I've listed to show further evidence of how neglected the room has been. The front desk employee did not seem at all surprised that I asked for a refund, even after listing my complaints. * Bit by bed bugs. * Door from outside into the hotel had a security pad that didn't work. Could get in the building without having a key card. * Door into the room had bolts unscrewed and stripped out of the door frame. The frame was not secure in the wall. * Hole that appeared to be punched in the wall, larger than a standard light switch plate. A pipe was exposed. * Broken towel rack that could fall on someone using the toilet. * Hole in bathroom door. * Sink counter wall looked like termites had bit into it. * Sliding door with mirror falling out of frame, potential for glass mirror to break. * 2 lamps that may not have been safe to use * What looked like major water damage that had not been fixed on the window and going down the wall and air conditioner. Wallpaper was coming off the wall and the inside of the wall was exposed in places. * Dirty window ledge with a lot of dirt and grime. * Lock on the window difficult to latch; was unlocked when I arrived. * Curtains falling off curtain rod - could be hazardous to children. * Tub faucet dripping, tub unclean. * Dresser drawer front just fell off when I pulled it out. * Basement level of hotel coming in the door had unfinished flooring and walls. * Several online resources including Expedia and the hotel's own website mention a free shuttle; this was not in service and I had to make different arrangements when I found this out at the airport. read more

This has been one of the worst experiences ever. On November 29/30 2024, My wife and I got the room through Priceline. The description of the hotel was acceptable, saying, designated smoking area, free breakfast, clean rooms, etc. Pictures looked good. Shockingly when we arrived, it was late in the evening, since we drove from Ohio, the cigarette smell was making us sick. We requested a non smoking room, but we were told, that all rooms are the same. We were given a spray for the room, so since we drove for about 7 hrs, we decided to stay. We are older, and were tired. Very dirty carpets, bathroom with broken sink, bedding had holes from cigarettes burns, pillows were filled with some kind of a filler that felt like broken stones. Breakfast, well, would not call that breakfast. A couple of cereal boxes, and some kind of bars. Only Instant coffee, no milk either. This hotel, should be closed and out of business. I'm giving this two stars, because the most redeeming thing about this place is how friendly the staff are (and they were very friendly and accommodating)...and that's it. We walked downstairs and saw that it was a "non smoking" section, which was funny because the place REAKED of smoke. I am pretty convinced that someone lived in my room for quite some time smoking in it, because the room smelled like cigarettes and loneliness. The floor was sticky and not vacuumed. My wife and I were afraid to take anything out of our suitcases because of how dirty our room was. This room is like a 70's porn set where someone squatted in it for years leaving the lingering smell of stale cigarettes and disappointment. The fridge had been damaged, probably from drug and alcohol fueled rage. The shower had cigarette burns in it. I'd like to repeat that because it seems VAGUELY important. The shower, where water flows, had cigarette burns in it! The wallpaper was peeling from the wall. My wife refused to have her bare feet on the floor...I can't really blame her. All in all, while the staff were friendly, and had even offered to allow us to cancel our reservation at no cost to us, the room was below the bare minimum. If this place had been cleaned, it would've been outdated, but habitable. Stay at your own risk, and then get a penicillin shot afterwards. read more

Our flight didn't arrive until 1am, so we wanted to just stay close to the airport and go into the city in the morning. The room REAKED and there were cigarette burns in the comforter. We threw it off the bed and went to sleep. Once we woke up and saw the room in day light, I was in total shock. There were dark splatters all over the wall and literal dried URINE dripping from the wall. I went and informed the owner as soon as I saw it. Her response was, "that is not urine." YES IT IS!!! The worst motel I have ever stayed in! I had horrible desk staff checking me in ( rude, didn't want to help me with my heavy bags up the stairs and was put out when I asked for a room on the first floor). Once in the room ( with the heater broken and unbearably hot... The room was dirty! It smelled of a musty, foul smell! Blood on one of the towels.. Toilet had been used and unflushed. A few people of unhealthy life style, "lived"in the unit next to my room and started screaming profanities and slamming his door about 15 times. Maybe my worst decision to book this place when I compare it to the craptacular hostel I stayed at in Rome, Italy where they would kick you out for 8 hours and you couldn't go back until 5 pm, that's an issue and pretty ghetto. Positives the TV was updated and worked but I was only there to sleep and then hop a bus to Madison which I missed because the alarm, phone, and lights didn't work. I had to call the desk they said they'd come by and didn't I think the guy had short term memory because in the morning I had to remind him of this. So when I confirm my flights for the night and you say no extra charge for the shuttle, well, ironically I call when I land confirm my pickup, then get my bags, when I call you say the last shuttle was at 11:45 pm, I look at my phone it's 11:52, then you tell me I have to haul a taxi now. The guy must really not listen or just sucks at listening. So I check in and observe how long it takes him to not acknowledge me. He answers the call about a customer and a toilet needing to plunge it. The lady ends up coming into the office to get a plunger since she couldn't get anyone to plunge it that works there. When I'm getting my key, I ask about a wake up call, he tells me the system is down and he will "try" to remember, doesn't even matter since the phone was broke! I would have had a better time at a hostel than this sh!thole. I missed my early bus to Madison that equalled me missing the first part of my conference, I ended up Ubering because they have specified times to take you to O'Hare airport so I Ubered and made the next bus less than 5 min before they where leaving. At least the hotel in Madison turned my negative from this craptastic ghetto place into positive actually getting customer service. I wouldn't be surprised if this sh!thole keeps open for business much longer and when I compare this place to that crappy hostel in Rome, yep, pretty bad. First, DO NOT USE THEIR ACTUAL WEBSITE TO MAKE A RESERVATION! Despite a 'confirmation number' and even an email with your itinerary, the hotel doesn't know anything about it. Thank goodness I called 6 hours after making my "reservation" to make a change and found this out in time! It's an old hotel with old furnishings and their was debris left in some drawers. On the positive side, they have smoking rooms AND they have a pleasant, light scent for these rooms. The window opens and I like that too. Everything worked in the room. Little fridge, ironing board, microwave, hair dryer. I missed though, most of all, a little coffee maker. Had to go to the reception area for this. Continental breakfast is cereal and breakfast bars. Would have liked bagels, muffins, croissants, maybe some boiled eggs for a bit of protien. They also allow pets, 2 Chihuahuas for 2 nights cost $80. Kinda steep, but not abnormally so. We left our room aired out and immaculate and I hope those who like bringing pets and/or to smoke, will do the same. Otherwise hotels will stop offering these perks. They also pick up and drop off at Ohare, good if you take the E train in and out of the city. Or of course, flown in. It's decent for the price. We'd go back again. I was in Chicago overnight due to flight complications and I was so happy I chose this hotel to stay at. Everything about it was amazing for the price. First, I called late and they sent their free shuttle van to pick me up from the airport so quickly. Second, they gave me a price slightly cheaper than online for a nice king sized bed in a room with a mini fridge, microwave, tv, and free WiFi. They were even nice enough to extend my check out time by an hour since my next day's flight was so late. There's a little complimentary breakfast, too. The bed wasn't 5 star comfort, but I didn't pay for that either. Cable channels were extensive and WiFi worked great. The room was outdated, but clean. Also, I felt completely safe in this area and there is a convenient store literally right next door with any food or drink you could want, including a Subway and another fast food joint. read more

My boyfriend and I wanted a rest stop before continuing our 20 hour journey back from Asia. We booked the hotel on Expedia, believing the 3-4 star user rating we saw on the internet. Sadly our experience was nothing near 3 stars. The shuttles set off every hour from the hotel after 12pm, and for a return shuttle from ohare, you need to call the reception and then wait 10 to 15 minutes for it to arrive at the shuttle center. It was really inconvenient for us as our shuttle didn't arrive till half hour from our first call, we had to call a second time before a shuttle was sent out... Definitely not a place to stay if you are planning to go into downtown. The hotel was shady, old and there are no elevators. We had to carry our luggages up and down the stairs!!! :( There was a weird smell in the corridor and room. The only comforting thing was that there were no bugs in the room... In addition, I've never experienced this before.... You have to pay $15 to hold your luggage at the reception!!!! This will definitely be the last time I'm staying at Ohare Inn and Suites. read more

My wife, daughter and I booked this hotel to drive in to Chicago for a concert coming from STL. We arrived and got our room around 3 in the afternoon, dropped off our bags, changed and left within 10 minutes to catch the train into the city. We got back to the hotel around 2:15 AM after the concert, food and a train ride back. When we got there our room key would not work. No big deal, we went and asked for a new one, well the 2nd one did not work either, went back and asked for another, 3rd key did not work either, went back to office and the guy on duty, who was too preoccupied with his phone, finally got up and went to try it. He 1st walked the wrong way to our room, after I directed him to our room, he could not get the door either. All we wanted was to get our stuff and leave at this point. His solution was to put us in another room until the morning and deal with it then. I was livid at this point and demanded that we get in our room to get our stuff so we could leave. He must have called somebody else after I raised my voice because he came back out and told us the room was open. We ran to our room to get our things and get them in the car. I went back to the office to ask for a refund seeing as we had not used the room and he was basically holding our things hostage for an hour at this point. He said he would not. I argued with him and he said he called a manager who would be there in 10 minutes. While we were waiting, we saw 2 cop cars roll up. Ol' boy had called the cops on us and told them we were trying to fight him. The police told him we were right and he owed us a refund but they couldn't make him. We ended up leaving without a refund and drove back to STL that night/morning. NEVER will I go there again. I am not a picky traveler, and because I spend very little time in my hotel room, I have a pretty low bar for accommodations. This is one place, however I would warn others away from. The front desk clerk was polite, but not friendly or helpful. And he was soooo slow. We reserved one sort of room but were given another, and he made us swear we had not disturbed anything in the first room before he would switch us to the room we has actually reserved. He was not apologetic and did not seem to care at all that we had to lug our bags up and down flights of stairs. The rooms are outdated and not very clean. There seemed to be one clothes iron that travels between rooms, because when I asked for one at the front desk the clerk said the one the clerk said she had given out the one he had. It was hard to get extra towels, and one day housekeeping did not even enter our room. Overall, if the staff had been friendly or concerned at all about our questions and requests I would have been able to roll with my experience here, but because they could not have cared less, I would pass on this hotel. read more

We had booked two rooms for a few nights and the moment we checked in I realized that this was not a place I was going to be comfortable. The room was dirty- every surface was sticky. The curtains had what appeared to be mucus smeared on them that had dried and blood in the sink. The linens were soiled and the floor had not been vacuumed. When we called the front desk to complain it took 2 min for someone to answer the phone and then 40 min for someone to come and 'clean' the room. When a gentleman who claimed he was from the laundry and doesn't know how to clean came eventually the 'cleaning option' was to sparsely wipe down visible spots with a dirty rag and ask if that was 'good'. The second room had a different set of issues than the first. It smelled musty and had pubic hair in the tub and along the toilet. The lines looked used and unclean, and the floor was dirty. Needless to say when we were finally able to speak with a 'manager' to check out, she refused to refund us saying that we had been there for almost two hours before we wanted to leave and she would have to pay for the room to be cleaned. This is laughable considering the reason we wanted to leave was due to the abhorrent conditions. With witnesses she yelled at me for requesting money back, she refused to even provide me with her name or the owners name. I can't expect the highest quality hotel room for that price, but the manager who was so rude and refused to communicate or even address the issues made the whole experience awful. read more

Reception attenders are either family members or illegals (Immigration please note), have very little understanding of American customer service. The attitude is you pay for cheap shit - we sit behind the desk and collect the money. The shuttle from airport took 50 minutes. They just kept saying it's coming, while the shuttle was sitting at the hotel for first 30 minutes after I called. TV was cracked. I called the reception and the attendant was scared as hell and mumbled smth about prior guest breaking it. Called during the day next day to request fixing it, got to hotel at night - the crack still there, and the owner accused me of breaking it! Very mean, uncivilized family. I've had better, even at cheap roadside motels in the middle of nowhere. This is very no frills, but with the standard shuttle/ cable/ wifi/ breakfast/ etc. For the price in Chicago, we probably would stay here again if needed. There are rooms with inside halls, and some with doors opening to the parking lot. Most would think the rooms on the inside hall would be safer, but you do not need a key card in order to get into the hall. The hotel is associated with another down the road, and they said they were overbooked (this was for the Chicago Marathon) and would we mind going over to the other hotel. After my husband looked up the other hotel online and its ratings, it was a resounding "NO". We had our then 17 month old with us, and needed the suite we reserved. The staff was kinda nice about it - Meh. The room itself was "ok". It was out-dated and needed a make-over. Not just aesthetics, but some of the fixtures were showing wear and tear. Even though we had a suite it was cramped with all the furniture, and the pack-in-play took up half the room. The neighborhood doesn't seem bad, just sad looking. You are near the airport, and the street looks very industrial based. There are not really any food places in walking distance, which may be an issue for a stranded traveler getting dropped off by shuttle or taxi. We had to drive a bit in order to find a store for milk (again traveling with a baby) and acceptable dinner options. read more

Probably one of the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Pros: Near the airport, free shuttle to and from the airport, friendly morning shuttle driver that gives you a lot of information about transportation in the area and places to see. If not for the driver, I would've given this a 1-star review rating. Cons: be prepared to be nickled and dimed at this place. Check in is at 4:00 pm not 3 pm as stated in their website. Early check-in will cost you around $20-30 depending on who you get at the front desk. It's $10 for every hour you extend your stay for late check-out. $15 if you decide to have the hotel hold your luggage while you explore the town or wait for your flight to come in as you pass the time. Internet worked fine on the first day, after that it died and never got fixed. I reserved a King Suite Room and got booked for a Single Queens Room. Went back to the front desk to complain which they tried to remedy and they gave me a Handicapped Suite. I was going to complain again but I'm too tired and just took the room. Continental breakfast are two different cereals, coffee, milk, and crackers. Anyway you get the idea. Unless you're really in a tight budget and planning to stay near the O'Hare airport then by all means try it out yourself. If I could give this no stars I would. I think our bad experience might have started at check in. I was in such a great mood. Pleasant and smiling I explained I had two small dogs and a third person with me would would be leaving soon and the dogs would be left alone only as long as it would take us to eat a special dinner out. The woman at the desk was like a robot. Now I had stayed with these dogs at other motels before. On the other websites pet prices are listed. She goes I have to tell you cost s higher. It should have been sixty dollars for the night but my cost was 114. Well I wasn't going to bicker and said that's great for a good nights sleep. We are checking out in the morning looking at a six hundred mile drive. She tells me room 127. We drive around, husband unloads dog cages and food our suitcase and beauty items. He leaves to take his brother to his other brothers house. I'm in room 127 and hear this drip drip drip. I walk into the bathroom and see a shower stall that's totally wet from the fixed head wetting the entire floor and starting to wet the hall carpet. The sink in the hall is dripping too. So while I leash the dogs to wait for my husband to change rooms I look up and see a few bed bugs on the ceiling. Nope I wait outside for him. We pack back up and go to the office. It's a different person. I really kindly tell him what I saw and ask him if anyone before me complained about the problem. No answer to that he just picked up the phone and tries to down sell why I want to change rooms. I guess his supervisor was giving him a hard time and she just hung up on him. So I look at my new room it's big free and slightly cleaner than the first room but the furniture is all cigarette burned and the sink is stained and the wood is rotten, but still I think a good nights sleep is worth it. Eight pm we decided to turn out the lights and settle in . Nine o'clock some starts banging on our metal door making my dogs go nuts. He proceeded to knock on everyone's door screaming about his brother in a car in the rooms we are trying to sleep in. This went on for a good hour. Then at two o'clock probably the local weed dealer knocked on my next door neighbor's door yelling a name and smoking very funky weed for an hour yelling random things . I don't know if just because it was a Saturday night but it was party time in the parking lot till about five am. This place is a scary nightmare. A few times during the night I truly felt I would loose my life. Thank god for my dogs. Please don't ever check in here read more
