I don't mean to bash Black Diamond Transportation, but I feel like I must point out a few things to help the public make an informed decision for planning their transportation needs. The good: Gene, the owner, was an incredibly nice man. His communication was top-notch, as he contacted me by text within 24-hours before each pick-up to confirm pick-up details, flight schedules, etc. He was consistently prompt and on-time for both trips, so his service was quite reliable in that regard. He did have waters available for us to drink on both trips as well, and he is certainly very social. He also kept a close eye on flight details to stay informed of any changes or possible delays, which showed excellent attention to details. The not-so-good: When I booked the reservation and discussed the details with Gene, he pried a bit about my marital status and my relationship to the travelers. I felt like this was a bit invasive, inappropriate, and unprofessional, as it bears no relevance on transportation to the airport, so it created a bit of an awkward situation from the start. Gene is a very chatty person. Although some people may enjoy the social aspects of his stories and regaling with his anecdotes, it was not on my list of favorites. Our departing flight was extremely early in the morning; I am not a morning person, so I'm really not up for lengthy conversation when the sun has barely risen. The same goes for the evenings after a long, tiresome day of travel....I am pretty pooped and just want to relax. I told Gene on our first trip to O'hare that I was tired and wouldn't be talking much, but he really didn't seem to take the hint, as he talked the whole drive down. The return trip was better as I just used my air buds to eliminate the chatter and just rest. Just before getting onto the interstate, Gene did (unknowingly) blow through a stop sign, which was quite alarming for us. Fortunately there weren't any complications or casualties from this, but it definitely created some uneasiness for us and our safety as passengers. The worst thing of all was that upon our arrival to O'hare, Gene dropped us off at the wrong airport terminal. We were flying JetBlue, and Gene insisted that JetBlue was in terminal 3 of the airport, so we trusted his word. (even though the only airline signs around were American Airlines) We entered the terminal, and much to our distress, we discovered JetBlue was actually in terminal 2. So, we had to take all of our luggage and jump on some stupid train to get over where we needed to be, which really did not start our trip off on a positive note. On the return trip, I asked Gene if we could enjoy an adult beverage or beer on our drive, and the response was, "No. Due to open container laws, you cannot." I was under the impression that Gene was marketing himself as a limousine service, (or maybe some of the other reviews suggested this, so maybe my mistake?) but the reality is it's just a guy and his own personal vehicle. In summary, Gene will communicate well, be on time, and talk your ear off. If you don't mind that, give him a try. (just double-check your actual airport terminal destination) If you're wanting a true limo service, you should keep looking elsewhere.

I mentioned to Saim about having to Uber from airport when I got to town. He said he could beat the price so I booked my airport transfer with him...two rides booked. We had a few hiccups prior to the day... didn't receive the confirmation email and when I did the price wasn't what I was quoted but Saim corrected everything after a few calls. First ride, airport transfer. My flight was delayed 2 hours but Saim told me not to worry my driver will track the flight and will be there whenever I landed. There is a $20 fee for airport transfers between 12am to 4am... still less than the Uber. After landing I had a text from Owais letting me know he was there and where to find him. The vehicle was an Expedition. Second ride, the surprise! There were eleven 10 year old boys that had never been in a limo and to say they were excited is an understatement. Mr. Moe, our driver, arrived on time to the pick up location and handled the excitement of the boys with grace. The ride was smooth and the boys had a blast!! From what I was told a couple of the boys were still talking about the ride a week later. My grandson has had an obsession with limos since he was three years old....I think this limo ride made turning double digits the best year ever. Please don't hesitate to book Crystal Lake Limos!

That morning the car never showed up. I called at 4:05AM because are regular limo service was never late. They first couldn't find reservation. I gave confirmation number and they stated I cancelled 3 days prior to trip. Completely false. They never sent a cancellation email like any other service would have. Will never call them again. After your response today 3/31/20 to my yelp review. I feel the need to say you never sent a cancellation email or called cancelling ahead of time which created a huge problem for us. Our trip was prior to the Stay in Place Order by the State of Illinois, so wouldn't expect a no show from your company. Also, when I called that morning the blame was place on me cancelling not your company taking ownership of your mistake. I do appreciate the delayed honesty.
