I have attached the "Welcome to Winter Hill!" email that makes for a great reference point of what…read moreNOT to expect from this "company". I received the welcome email once we signed and completed our contract with Winter Hill GC to take on our building's siding repairs. We then immediately sent the check for the first payment to the office and were excited to move forward with the project. The next form of communication (which I am not sure it would qualify as) was a refund check that we received in the mail 11 days later. There was no notice, explanation or additional context provided, just a check. Thinking there may have been some kind of mistake, I followed up with the individual who we had been working with (for months leading up to this, mind you) and the general email/phone number that was provided via the "Welcome Email". 5 days went by, no call, email, text, nothing. Finally, I was able to get in touch with our main point of contact (only after I was the one to follow up). I was told that they were sorry but they decided they did not want to honor the signed contract and no longer had interest in doing the work. Still no written communication from Winter Hill that this was the case. I am typically not one to write these kind of reviews but wanted others to be aware of this incident and advise to look elsewhere. To summarize, I'll reference the Co-founder & CEO of Winter Hill General Contractor, Claudio's comments in the welcome email - do NOT expect to be treated as "family", do NOT expect to be updated every step of the way, and do NOT expect them to get back to you if you have any questions. DO expect that after you sign the contract/submit the first payment you will receive a refund in the mail 11 days later, with no absolutely no explanation or other communication. THAT is the Winter Hill General Contractor Difference!

We hired Winter Hill to update our home with siding, mason work, and carpentry. The project took…read more6 months. They often did not show as planned. They did not communicate well. No GC visited the site to see the work completed. The initial mason added a bulkhead and repaired a chimney. It took 4 months to get them to hire a new mason to fix the problems. Through those 4 months we had constant water in our basement due to both the chimney and the bulkhead leaking. The gutters were installed yet not attached to the house. They needed to send a different gutter installer to fix the problem since the water was not draining through the gutters but over the edge. They quoted us $1800 to paint two small walls that were fully prepared. They did not reinstall the border on the hardwood floor correctly. Needless to say, I would never recommend using Winter Hill.
