This is the bar / restaurant inside the Holiday Inn. The bar is great. Great bartender and service. Decent beer list. You should absolutely come have a few drinks here. The food and table service... Meh. Now, granted, we had a large group. And I'm sure that wasn't exactly easy for our server. None of us liked what we ordered. And that was even if you received what you ordered. I never even got my food. Poor quality and poor experience.

Went for my birthday dinner while in town for a convention and everything was great! Happy hour pricing is fantastic so make sure to come during happy hour! I can't find yuca fries a lot of places but they had them here and they were perfect!! Definitely a great place for a casual meal or a celebration!

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got a breaded buffalo chicken sandwich instead. It as ok.

Slow service and average food was my experience. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and got a breaded buffalo chicken sandwich. Was just okay. Nothing special about the place. Unless you're staying in the hotel, I don't recommend it.

In the name of "research" and "building my list" of Irish bars (please visualize me making the Chandler from Friends hand quotes here) I checked this place out. It is right in Crystal City down the street from the Sheraton and not too far from Legal and Ruth Chris. If you having dinner at either of those places or one of the other tasty spots close by, I would recommend this place for drinks beforehand or after wards. O'Malley's is your typical Irish pub type place. They serve American food, not Irish. Bummer. Big cheese factor- on the menu the items are listed with corny names like "Leprechaun Wings" which are just chicken wings. This is a great spot to watch a sports game, especially if is NBA or NCAA hoops (which the crowd leans towards). They have high def televisions, dudes.

Inside the Holiday Inn. Staff is friendly but not very fast. Place was pretty slow even during opening game of the World Series. Limited selection of draft beer although they do have nice glassware. Interestingly, 1/3 of the people at the bar as customers were actually Irish but none of the staff were. Seven bucks for a 12 ounce Sam Adams. It is not bad but I wouldn't enthusiastically recommend this spot for people not staying in the hotel.

We ordered the "Potomac Social Tavern Burger", this is what we got, lol

After a long day of travel we decided to just stay at the hotel and eat. Not the best decision! The menu sounded appetizing, but when the food came out, it was anything but. The food that came out was not as described on the menu. We ordered a burger that was supposed to have swiss cheese, crispy onions, truffle butter, and all the fixings. We got a plain ol' burger with cheddar, lettuce, onion, tomato. We also ordered nachos and paid six dollars extra for chicken-not much chicken. But on top of that, what little cheese there was, was not melted and they left off the aioli that was supposed to be on it. The cook came out and said the burger was how we ordered it. And we said we ordered what was on the menu with no subs/changes. She blamed it on the waitress. She was trying to push the issue and press us to order more/different food. The reason for the 2 stars was because the waitress was really sweet and accommodating-even after being blamed-by the cook-for the bad food. I would stay away from this place.

It doesn't matter if it's a dreary Tuesday night or you're at the bar debating whether the Commanders should become the Redskins again--it's always a great place to be. Where else do you find yourself sharing your fries because someone says, "That crab cake looks so good," and you casually cut it in half? That's the kind of place this is. The patrons are among the friendliest I've encountered anywhere (a special thanks to the regulars). On one packed football night, there wasn't a seat available in the house. Guess what happened? A group of loud, hungry, football-loving fans squeezed me in at their table like we'd known each other for years. Okay, let's get to the food. Did I mention the crab cakes? Remember, I'm a native Washingtonian from blue crab country. They're not the best crab cakes between Baltimore, DC and Annapolis (competition is fierce) --but they are the best $21 crab cake sandwich I've foun, served on a brioche bun with fries and coleslaw. Ever been to Bourbon Street? The Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp brings those flavors to your table, with blackened chicken and shrimp drizzled in a sweet bourbon glaze over creamy mashed potatoes. Now for the cholesterol... those huge, crispy onion rings are fried to perfection. Love pasta? Try the Chicken Alfredo. It's generously portioned with grilled chicken, broccoli, and a rich Alfredo sauce that's perfectly balanced with the pasta. (I hate when pasta is swimming in sauce.) Believe me, I've only scratched the surface. If you see me there (I'm the guy in the hat in the photo), stop by and say hello. The first beer is on me!

For under $70 two people can have crab cakes benedict, fried brussels, crispy French toast... I don't even remember. Like ten different things! I didn't have to eat again until 9pm. Let's start with the unexpected hero of this story... the chicken sandwich. This thing had absolutely no business being as good as it was. The breaded chicken slapped, the pickle had that perfect crisp snap, and the brioche bun came strolling in like it knew it was the prettiest person at the party. Seriously, that bun deserves recognition for its supporting role. Even the fries were really good, and I'm not a fries guy. Usually fries are just the edible packing material keeping my sandwich from sliding around the plate, but I actually found myself eating these voluntarily. Unfortunately, my margarita was aggressively mid. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. It was technically a margarita and successfully completed all contractual obligations associated with being one. The atmosphere was... a restaurant. There were tables. There were chairs. People ate food at them. No particular vibe or energy jumped out at me. Service was similarly pure, uncut service. We ordered things. Those things arrived. Transactions occurred. Mission accomplished. Would I go back? Absolutely if someone suggested it. Would I cross state lines and embark on a pilgrimage? Probably not. But I'd order that chicken sandwich again without hesitation... and maybe ask if they'll put my margarita on a brioche bun too.

The only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of the beer. I mean, how can you go wrong w/ a Boston Lager, Cherry Wheat, Nobel Pils, or Summer Ale?
