Boom-Boom Shrimpin' I told y'all in my first review of Walk-On's that I'd be back especially for the "Boom-Boom shrimp". I loved them so well, I ordered two (2) to go along with the red beans and rice. The shrimp, as it was on our first visit, I described it as, "the mini-mountain of creamy goodness was fresh, hot and delicious." This is now, my "Go-To" appetizer. Following a Louisiana tradition on Monday's (Nola), I ordered a cup of the red beans and rice. Hearty, savory and absolutely delicious. Well seasoned with tender beans and lots of sausage. The only drawback is that I should have ordered the bowl! This is my 2nd go round and I can already see their consistency and quality coming through. We'll be back! read more

Walk-Ons has not been my favorite place but I recently started trying the burgers and their sliders, these are really yummy! Of course you have to have the beignets-which now include chocolate syrup, a big plus!! I also have not been crazy about their cocktails but the raspberry lemonade was good, a little sweet and the Death Valley were pretty good. read more

10/10 RECOMMEND My partner and I visited for lunch for the first time over the weekend. He'd seen it passing by and wanted to try it out. I expected the usual sports bar/grill but it turned out to be so much better. Atmosphere, service, food and drinks were fantastic. Atmosphere Hostesses were attentive, greeted us right as we walked in, and promptly escorted us to a booth near the bar. There was plenty of seating and booths were very roomy to fit large groups. TVs everywhere with various sports channels playing. They were all big and the channels seemed to be set so that no matter where you sit, you could watch what you want without having to twist around or sit awkwardly. Table and bench were clean and menus weren't sticky. Service Our server was covering the bar/bar top guests but still came around in good time to greet us. She was friendly, accommodating, and efficient with our orders. Her rotation seemed to be timed perfectly; We never felt rushed or ignored, and she'd come around right in time for water refills. Our bar drinks and the food came in good time. It appeared that both the manager and chef(?) were helping run food. The manager was on the floor, circulating and checking in on guests. We told him how great everything turned out to be, and he thanked us with dessert on the house!! Food and Drinks Bring your DD if you want to try Death Valley and bring your taste buds if you want to try the Mad Mary. When I say she HOOKED US UP... Death Valley tasted good. The fruit juices aren't overwhelming, and you know what you're drinking when you sip it. It's a large drink and it sneaks up on you quicker than you might expect. Mad Mary is the way a Bloody Mary drink should be done in other places that offer it. (The garnish is an integral part of the drink... it's disappointing to see BM offered at some places where it turns out to be just a naked mix of V8 and Smirnoff with a dash of pepper) Mad Mary did not disappoint. It was a spicy, salty, tangy blend with the perfect amount of Tito's, topped with pickled green beans, olive, tajin rim, a lime wedge, and a mini bottle of Tabasco clipped to a stir stick. Disclaimer: the drinks might have played a part in how good the food was ‍ He ordered the Redfish Tacos and Hickory Burger, I ordered the Havarti Turkey Burger. The Redfish Tacos were delicious. They were drizzled with the aioli, as they should be, instead of swimming in it. The slaw was crisp and wasn't falling out of the end on each bite. As someone who doesn't really eat fish tacos....I would order and eat these fish tacos. The burgers here are a handful and big bite; You can tell they are assembled well and not just slapped together. Some bbq burgers go too hard on the barbecue sauce and you end up with a messy plate, saturated dressings, and no other flavors past the bbq. Not so with the Hickory. You can taste the bbq, but you can actually taste the cheddar, you can taste the pickle, you can taste the bun, you can taste the burger. The Havarti Turkey Burger was layers of goodness in both taste and aesthetics. Every part was delicious, and the flavors of the caramelized onion and the aioli and the dressed greens played together so nicely. It was like a warm hug and I haven't tasted a bun that good since the Honeybee Ham & Deli days. The bread pudding was nice and thick, made with Krispy Kreme donuts, and served with a dollop of whipped cream. It wasn't soggy, it wasn't dry, it was just right, and the serving is generous. Be sure to leave room if you want to order it. We were already stuffed, so we struggled to finish it! read more

All Walk-On's have Happy Hour and this location doesn't even have a single special. Was wondering when to take a large party for it but I would much rather take my business elsewhere. Steak was so fatty and just awful. Green beans were raw. Mashed potatoes were good. Expensive and not worth it. Last time for me.

Been here a few of times. The place is set up nicely. TV screens all over the place. Food has always been great. No complaints about the food. We had slow service on one occasion. Management came out to apologize but we were patient and understanding that we came during a busy time. Not a big deal. We were talking and enjoying the football games. read more

Amazing! My husband and I came on a Friday about 2:00. We were seated right away. He ordered the catfish platter and I had the boom boom tacos. It was a hard choice because everything looked delicious. The food was amazing. The wait staff was attentive. Beer was cold. The service here was great. I went to dinner with a friend and her family. The food was amazing! I ended up choosing pasta with chicken as my entrée. The restaurant in general is very clean. Although, it did take a little while to get service and drinks, it was still great service. Everyone else enjoyed the meal. The employees are very friendly and professional. After waiting 25 minutes for a Coke Zero and water, I asked if the server could check on the drinks. Our table remained empty until we finally left. No food. No drinks. I did make a trip to the restroom. The path was difficult to manage with the foot traffic for to go boxes and personnel attempting to leave the kitchen. A server nearly ran into me while carrying a tray of drinks because there's no way for the server to see if the path is clear when exiting the kitchen. We've anxiously waited for this restaurant to open and hoped the food was great. With service this poor when a chain restaurant should have established norms, better training should happen to eliminate wait times as we observed our server carrying one drink at a time to other tables. read more

No smile, no warmth. just attitude. i ordered a beer. she poured it and the walked away from it. it would have sat there (it sat there for four minutes) if hadn't got the other bartender to get it for me. Nice atmosphere with plenty of booths, ink, and TVs. I liked the large bar in the center of the room. Didn't notice any daily specials or Happy Hours. Our table had lots of crumbs against the wall. Food was mediocre. Shrimp's only flavor was a kick of cayenne. Gumbo wasn't what I was hoping for in a Cajun establishment. Gumbo was a bit too greasy and again cayenne was the only flavor I could taste. I thought everything was overpriced, but hey, if you like paying high prices for average spicy food, then this is your place. We might try it again. read more
