Take my review with a grain of salt because I have never been to another hmart before this!…read more I love it here, and they have everything I need for Asian cuisine and then some. My boyfriend is Ecuadorian and they have a pretty loaded Hispanic aisle ironically enough and Tango cookies which are extremely hard to get in the United States, so this is a bonus (no having to wait for abulita to smuggle them back for him, yay!) Prices are average, if anything slightly above average... but I expect this for a specialty store with imported goods. Great location as I'm able to just take the SEPTA to here, works out nice if I wanna make a lil day trip out of it and eat at the food court too. :) Again, I have no other hmarts to compare it to, but it is a tad dirty and run down as far as grocery stores/food markets go. Whole building does smell like fish... but they also *do* have an open fish market thing indoors. Tight aisles. I'm fairly petite and others can squeeze by me, but exactly that: they have to SQUEEZE by me. Nobody with an average height/build could stand comfortably in an aisle with a cart and others get through. Place also isn't huge, but boy, is it packed. As mentioned, it has basically everything you'd need, especially for imported goods. As some other reviews have said, they make you unbag all your stuff and put it back... which is odd, because I'm totally fine with showing my receipt (á la Walmart or any wholesale club like BJs, Sam's Club etc) but it is next level here. High theft area, I presume. Security at front door and I've never had issue bringing my reusable bag in, but I expect to be searched on the way out. Staff is pleasant enough. I don't think in the 10 or so times I've gone to check out they've said hi to me... but I'm also used to shopping at Eastern European markets/have family from that region and they don't do that either so it doesn't bother me lol.

The top floor of this H Mart is actually pretty nice -- there's a cafeteria, a Paris Baguette, and…read moresome small shops for cosmetics and home goods. It's a good spot to grab a bite or browse around casually. However, the actual H Mart experience leaves a lot to be desired. Right at the entrance, you're required to check all your bags -- even reusable shopping bags -- which feels unnecessarily aggressive. The staff at bag check treated me more like a potential thief than a customer. I had a larger wallet (the long kind, not sure what it's called), and even that was questioned. I had to argue just to take it in with me, since clearly you can't steal anything in a wallet. Once inside, the store layout is standard. The produce section near the entrance looked fresh and well-stocked. Seafood was also plentiful and appeared very fresh. The meat section had a solid selection, especially marinated cuts ready for Korean BBQ -- definitely a plus. That said, the snack section was smaller than I expected, especially compared to the ones in Chinatown. I was surprised at the limited variety. The prepared food section (like pre-made kimchi and sides) was practically empty when I went around noon -- not sure if it was bad timing or just poor restocking. Check-out was fast, but the line system was confusing. The worst part? After paying, you have to exit the store, walk back around to the bag check, and then -- get this -- squat on the floor to repack your groceries. No tables or counters provided. It felt disorganized and a bit humiliating. Overall: decent grocery selection, but the experience is soured by unfriendly policies and poor customer service flow. I'd come again for specific items, but I won't be rushing back.

I have found a new go-to takeout/delivery sushi spot! I've been wanting to try this place for a…read morewhile and so glad I did. There are so many options to choose from on the menu. I tried the Philadelphia, spicy crunch salmon, and spicy tuna sandwich rolls. I think that the salmon in the Philly roll was fresh as opposed to the typical smoked and I loved that! The fish was tasty, the sushi rice perfect, and the value for size of roll excellent. Will definitely be back to try different rolls.

Updating my previous review with more sushi options. I bought the Big Mama, Spicy Salmon and…read moreCalifornia Roll. The Big Mama is very tasty and probably my favorite option but it's so hard to choose! This option contains seaweed, sushi rice with vinegar, sesame seeds, 2pcs shrimp tempura, and spicy crab topped with 8pcs shrimp shumai, spicy mayo, and special sauce. The dumpling and sushi combination makes this option very filling! The sushi is very large and the dumplings are about half the size. The flavor of the rice is so good, it really sets the sushi off. I'll definitely get this option again. The spicy salmon was also delicious. It contains seaweed, sushi rice with vinegar, sesame seeds, spicy salmon and cucumber topped with seaweed salad. The seaweed option on top was my favorite. It added such a refreshing flavor. I usually just get seaweed salad on the side but I'll try more seaweed sushi combinations. And lastly, I bought a California Roll with seaweed, sushi rice with vinegar, imitation crab, cucumber, and avocado. That was good too!
