Once again, I had an incredible experience here. They are usually staffed with just two individuals but a few years ago I remember there being three. That's alright, the customer service was just as good. Sid checked me out as I bought lightbulbs for my vehicle as all of them had burned out. I straight up told him I didn't know how to install them. He said he would assist me -- and that he did. Not only did he install 5 bulbs but he even went back and forth inside the store to get the right tools to undo my light fixtures. Otherwise, prices are high. During a blinding rainstorm my windshield wipers malfunctioned. they basically came apart. And I could barely see to drive. I saw this OReillys on Lamar and Isidro was able to determine the problem and, correct the malfunction and replace the wiper blades. The selection here is limited. They didn't have the parts I was looking for. The pads and rotors had to be called in, took a couple of days. When I went home, I noticed they gave me the wrong pads. It was upsetting to say the least. Usually they have good deals and I usually find them to be super helpful at times. They need to pay more attention to the stuff they order. read more

We stopped into this location tonight after a previous bad experience at a nearby AutoZone trying to get an electrical issue diagnosed. Flavio, the salesperson who helped us, was a really nice guy who ran full diagnostics on the electrical system. He couldn't find any issues with the electrical system, which was a relief despite the car's app sending a warning. More importantly, he took the time to explain why the battery was one their store couldn't replace. His explanation and willingness to help reflects very well on this location. read more

Zero Stars...WORST Customer Service! Called the store to check if they had a particular trailer hitch, I even provided the brand and part number; but the sales rep on the phone refused to walk over and check the shelf. It was a big box he wouldn't have had to look very hard for it, either it was there or it wasn't. Then he gave attitude that I should come to the store and look myself. Horrible customer service. I asked what oil I needed for my oil change and when I asked where it was located they just pointed and said they were labeled. I was the only customer in the store at this moment. Eventually another guy came and asked if I needed help and I asked him what filter I needed. The lady that helped me originally said "hold on" and I went back to the oil aisle just for them to never say anything again. Eventually I just left because I did not know what to get and it seemed like I would have just bothered them further if I asked again. read more

My experience here has been awful, I needed a brake controller for my Taco. It took almost two weeks for them get it in, they spent 3 hrs doing the install, then they realized they didn't order the cable needed. so almost 2 wks later, I go into finally get the job done, after waiting over an hour, they tell me they ordered the wrong cable. Wow they don't know what they are doing. Don't expect professional or knowledgeable service from these folks. I still don't have my job finished. And no estimated date when it will done. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff! Being a woman, going into an auto store can be an intimidating experience, especially when you only partially know what your looking for, so I really appreciated both of the male staff who very kindly helped me find what I was looking for and promptly rang me up. I can't speak for pricing as I don't frequent auto stores, but the store was clean and everything was clearly marked and arranged in an easily navigable manner. Glad I found this place on the fly and would definitely return if I am ever in need of auto-stuffs in the near future! read more

It's pouring rain for the first time this year, I'm absurdly dressed up and my wiper blade is going haywire. It's flopping every which way but right, and I can't see a thing -- not even the cars around me, much less curbs and driveways. I barely manage to pull over to try to fix it, but give up when I realize the clip is broken and I am far too soaked to stand around trying to Jerry-rig it. I take off the faulty blade and manage to navigate the half mile to O'Reilly with one blade on. Drenched to the bone in my little black dress, I explain my problem to the patient clerk, who promptly dives into the nearby trashcan, head-first, looking for a clip to replace my broken one, so I won't have to buy a whole new wiper (thanks to our lack of rain, it's fresh as an unused one). Unfortunately, he pulls out clip after clip, and none of them work, but each one gives him a ray of hope that the next one might just be right. Three trash cans later (including one outside the store, in the rain!) and with a line of people with truly urgent problems building beside me, I say, "I'm really, really grateful, but I don't think you're going to find one. I've got to get to work." There were two #19 blades left in stock, and the fee was $12 well-spent -- to make up for $12 wasted on the previous blade, I guess. So if you want service with a smile and a willingness to bend over backward into a trashcan if necessary (at least if you come in with an easy issue, while wearing an LBD and heels), check out this location. I'll be back next time I need a quick auto part. read more

My mechanically-talented-and-skillful-at-fixing-cars coworker had recommended getting car batteries tested at O'Reilly or Napa instead of the ubiquitous Auto Zone because a Pflugerville Auto Zone battery testing had been inaccurate for his minivan. O'Reilly is in my Austin stomping grounds so I came here first. There were no other customers on a Monday evening around 7:30 pm. Two employees were at the counter. That was pleasant to see because the Auto Zones I went to in the past were usually very busy and had long lines to check out. The employee who is the young fellow with brown hair grabbed the battery tester and went to my car. I had never had a battery tested before but this time, I had an upcoming roadtrip to the middle of nowhere and wanted to prevent any unhappy surprises. My Corolla's OEM battery test result was "BAD" for the first of the Auto Meter's battery analyses; the other tests were good. However, the first one being bad meant the battery had to be replaced so I went inside to pick a battery. The other employee asked for the model and year of the car to bring up a list of only two choices: a Super Start Extreme or a Super Start Premium. The Extreme cost $15 more than the Premium and seemed to have better specs. If you leave your old battery, they will credit you $15. So my total was $143.71 with tax. I didn't think to pack my toolkit this morning to change the battery in the parking lot. However, the employee who tested my battery in the car was kind and replaced it for me. He did it a lot faster than I would've. It might've taken me over an hour (in addition to the time spent watching YouTube tutorial videos). This O'Reilly's Auto Parts deserves five stars. The car batteries seem expensive but they might be similar prices at other stores--I haven't checked. read more

My experience this time was more positive than last time. During the torrential downpours that we were having in Austin, I realized that my taillight and headlight was out thanks to a friend and I stopped in here to buy replacement bulbs. I walked in and told the gentleman behind the counter what I needed and what kind of a car I had. He asked me which of the tail lights and which of the headlights were out and I told him that I honestly didn't know. Apparently, the car that I had had multiple bulbs for both the taillight and the headlight. He was kind enough to come outside and I turned on my car and hit the brake pedal so, he could see it in operation and sell me the correct parts. He knew which one's I needed after that and I was in and out very quickly! I appreciate that he took the extra measure to check out my car so I wouldn't have to come back and he was correct on what I needed because I was able to swap them out myself and my car lights were operational again! read more

Oh, yes--as much as I play with the car (and consequently, break things on cars), going to buy parts and stuff is not something I enjoy. At. All. Super nice and helpful, I can easily say this is the best, most laid back, yet confident, service I've ever received at an auto parts store. The guy efficiently showed me how to change my wiper blades. (I'd learned from my dad years ago, but this was my first time to do it...and it was a piece of cake). This was great as it beats paying the state inspection place a much higher price. ...only in Austin can you meet a super-helpful gentleman/scholar at the auto parts store. Great customer service! Was trying to find some obscure sized aux belts for an old euro car a couple weeks ago. Went to 2 other auto parts stores before this one, and was met by incompetent workers who had no idea how to match belt sizes without looking up the make and model, and fetching me incorrect sizes. Rather than messing around the guys here just let me come to the back with them and pick out the belts myself. Was able to find them in less than 2 mins! Thanks for the help guys! read more

I went in for a simple part, bought the wrong size but had opened it, went back in and the manager (I assume) helped me find alternate solutions. I bought the new part, and handed him the opened one and said maybe you can just give it to someone who needs one, he said how about a refund, even though I pretty much wrecked the container while opening. I got back from a one-week vacation to find that the battery in my car was totally and completely dead (but that's what you get when you leave your Garmin plugged into the charging port). I made my way to O'Reilly because of how close it was to my sad, dead car to see what I could do, since I, nor any of my available friends, owned any jumper cables. I explained the situation to the guys who were working there and they told me that it could be something that might be fixed by jumper cables, but I also might need an entirely new battery altogether depending on its state of deadness. I then asked if there was any way that I could put down some collateral or a deposit just to borrow jumper cables (thanks for the pro tip, Dad!), and they did me one better -- they gave me some sort of thingamabob that jumped my car independently without it having to be connected to another one (I'm sure there's a name for it, but clearly cars aren't my expertise) in exchange for holding my credit card while I was gone. At the end of the day, I was able to get my car started and didn't have to pay a cent, so that was pretty awesome. I would have given five stars if they had offered that solution without me having to prod around for it, but que sera sera. read more

I needed to get a new battery, so I came to O'Reilly's since Advanced was about $40 more expensive. I was kind of surprised that the guy who sold me the battery did not offer to install it for me. I asked him if he would, and he seemed rather hesitant, saying that he was the only one working even though I could hear people in the back. Another employee came out to watch the front, while he changed my battery for me. He was nice about it besides the initial weird hesitation. read more

Wow! I just had the worst experience here and would never go back! I took a battery in to get a replacement b/c it was under a "72 month warranty". They told me I had to leave it for 2 hours to decide if it was bad. When I returned, it was actually bad... Easy, right? Swap it out, give me a prorated discount, etc. After 45 minutes of searching through phone numbers, names, addresses of multiple people and year's of home, business and cell numbers w/ the employee, the REGIONAL MANAGER walked by and picked the battery up and told him to search by the data on the battery. (I think he was embarrassed listening to this.) After another 15 minutes of him not being able to find it, and racking my brain trying to figure out why I would even come here in the first place, I realized I got my battery replace w/ a tuneup (by Groovy Lube down the road - great place!!) I drove back home went through all of my receipts and found the actual Groovy Lube invoice... drove back to OReilly, 15 minutes more they gave me a discount and I was back to install in my truck. The thing that prompted the negative review is that Brandon (manager) could have stepped in at anytime and solved the problem. We actually said we needed TWO of the exact same batteries for the EXACT same trucks. We'd like this one under warranty and will purchase the 2nd for full price HOW HARD IS THIS? Their prices are 20% higher than either Sears or WalMart, so you would expect you are paying for either service or warranty. In the meantime I called Sears and got the price on the same battery ($89 vs. $129). The replacement battery I got today does not come w/ the 72 month warranty as it did a few years ago, they have dropped that, and just do 48 months now... and it cost $38 more! After about 4 hours (b/c I had to leave it 2 hours) I have reinstalled the battery and am on my way to Sears to buy the duplicate for truck #2. I right 1 negative review a year - at most... but this just seemed so over the top. The reality is that there are SO MANY PLACES that would love your business... skip someplace that doesn't. You can excuse an hourly employee that just doesn't care... but the regional manager should be able to step in and solve a problem ASAP. PS: The only reason it's getting 2 stars vs. 1 is that they did eventually give me 40% off of the replacement battery that was 40% through it's warranty... I spent more in wasted time than that, but it became the principle of the matter to honor their warranty. read more

I just wanted to do a shout out for this auto parts store. I am so impressed with the staff there! I walked in with two light bulbs out on my Toyota. I'm a girl, so I guess they saw the "doe in the headlights" look in my eyes. Not only were they able to locate my parts (total of $6.95), but it wasn't very busy so they also replaced them for me! Great customer service! This place is awesome. Every time I go to another big name auto store (which I will not name but should be pretty obvious) I encounter the most unhelpful people. I went to O'Reilly's in search of windshield wipers and have had an ongoing issue with the ones I've been buying. The guy was super helpful, knew exactly why the wipers I had been told were "the best" were not the best for my car, and installed them on the spot. They install them for free for everyone, so it wasn't because I was special, they are just very helpful. Thanks for helping me find wipers that don't suck! read more

Tell me why I walk in and there are 3 guys standing around talking & one is smoking a vape pen.I ask for a freon check. Nice guy Mario shows me where to buy a freon guage,and then offers to let me use theirs for free. As I'm popping my hood, he runs out(obviously after talking to the lazy ones) and hooks it up and says now all you do is run your AC. Then he says to go next door for a free check.Why not just finish, if the guage was already screwed on. Mind you, it's 104 degress outside and all I needed was a freon check,and it's not like they were busy. For some reason they didn't want to exercise good customer service. Anyway, I went to Auto Zone, they did a complimentary check and got my $10 for freon. read more

Just went there to purchase mount for front license plate. I selected wrong item and the sales associate helped me find an alternative that costed a fraction of the original purchased item. Even though it wasn't a great deal of money to begin with, this type of help is not common but very much appreciated. He even let me borrow a screwdriver to mount the plate on the spot. I waited my turn, but, the customer service staff (there's a joke) didn't give a damn. They helped someone that clearly walked in after me. His excuse? That I was not right in front of him. Since there we only two staff members present and they were at opposite ends of the counter I stopped just past the first one, where I could easily see and be seen. Still, I am apparently not a valuable enoigh customer for him to care that he skipped me, that I deserved a real apology, or that I intend to tell everyone I know about their poor service as a means of impacting their bottom line. Perhaps I am not important, but my willingness to purchase, which today would have been in the hundreds, and over time has been in the thousands, has ended for good. Don't judge a book by it's cover or a customer by your own prejudice. read more
