I've been to this store 3 times in 9 days. I was only able to make a purchase once. I was able to find the coolant and blue def on my own, it took a minute for the cashier to walk away from his phone to help with finding $70+ windshield wipers. The other 2 times they couldn't be bothered. I saw the same behavior with other customers that came in. I have shopped at all O'Reilly's for decades. I will not go back to this one and I am considering returning the unused products that I have. read more

As i was checking out, i provided my phone number so my purchase would be kept under my profile. Miguel asked if i was_______ ( my name,) or if i was ________( Another name).?? This was the first time hearing another name under my phone number. A name i don't recognize. I inquired about it and was rudely told " dont worry about it"... i politely questioned again if someone was using my phone number at thier place of business. And before i could finish my sentence, Miguel rolled his eyes and shook his head and said in a condescending tone "stop worrying,... it's not important to you" And he turned his back and walked away but let me see that he was rolling his eyes once more. I asked " wait...im concerned someone could be using my profile." I was ignored. Cinfused, I looked at the other man behind the counter but he would not look at me.. Went in to purchase windshield wipers and I approached the front desk and the cashier helped me identify the type I needed. I wanted something that would last longer so went with the suggested premium wipers. We initially checked the aisle, but the clerk went to the back to grab some and I was presented and charged for two of the same style wiper based on packaging ($35 each, Napa has them for $27). One of the wipers was opened and looked completely different when I installed them. I came here tonight for new low beam headlight bulbs and the alternative BMX looking guy with piercings helped me (don't know his name). He was suuuper helpful and patient and even offered (and did!) to help me change ("guide me" bc they aren't technically supposed to change them for you) my headlights. He also gave me recommendations on cleaning kits for headlights. He signed me up for the rewards card as well. Also, O'Reilly currently has a $15 manufacturer mail-in rebate on certain brands of headlight bulbs (if anyone is in need). Awesome customer service here and a great attitude! There was another woman working there as well (older Latina woman with a cool funky Halloween manicure) and she was really friendly and helpful as well! I will be back! read more

This is a two-part review for the store. The positive highlight is for a worker at this location named Jimmy, who has fantastic customer service. He is always willing to help,is very humble, and is an overall fun guy to be around. Even when I am standing in line and hearing him talk to other customers, it is a pleasant experience. For Jimmy, I give five stars and two enthusiastic thumbs up. However, there is another worker name Juan who can't seem to be bothered to service customers. I had a gift card that I explained to him he had to enter in the number manually at checkout because the magnetic strip doesn't swipe for some reason. I know this because the last time I went in and used the gift card, that's what happened. Juan seemed super-annoyed that he had to type in the gift card number and the pin manually. In fact, he had a hard time reading the numbers and asked me to read part of it to him. it looks like he tried twice and was unsuccessful and so I had to pay without using the gift card. But I am 100% certain the gift card works fine and I even checked the balance online before I drove in. I think Juan was just too lazy, or couldn't read the numbers without glasses. Whatever the reason, I had a poor customer experience as a result. For Juan, I subtract 3 stars. Maybe I should just buy online (since I know the gift card works), but I hate making the workers pick my items from the shelves when I know exactly where to go and can save them time. Next time I am at this store, I would rather wait for the next available cashier or just come back later than be serves by Juan. read more

My oil light came on while on Hwy , I exited the hwy and looked for the nearest auto parts store and I drove 2 miles to get the oil addressed. Miguel helped me out, was very nice and attentive. Miguel was even nice enough to put the synthetic oil and check to see if one quart was enough. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Thank you Miguel for you great customer service. read more

I went in on Saturday August 31st, and a young man helped replace headlight bulbs that I had purchased at the Scotts Valley location. I thought they were the wrong bulbs because I had replaced them before...but I think I was trying to replace the high beams. I appreciated his help. I wish I had gotten his name. I traveled to Capitola from out of town, and had some issues with my car. They checked for the alternator, starter and battery, to make sure those were not the issue. The manager by the name of Luis helped me today. I walked up to him and asked if he had any special deals on the purchase of motor oil. He said that even if there wasnt, he would work something out anyway for me. It was nice to hear that! Unfortunately, they were sold out of the filter, so I asked if he could call the Scotts Valley location. He said he would be happy too. He called, and while we were patiently waiting, he chatted it up with us and apologized for the wait. When we found out Scotts Valley had it, we were glad to hear as we were driving out of town tomorrow and needed to have our oil changed today. He said he would be happy to honor the sale price for me. Needless to say, I walked out of the store a satisfied customer. Luis has great customer service, I would highly recommend having him help you when you go in. read more

BEWARE!! If you are having them test your battery or alternator.. they will tell you it doesn't work just so you can buy a new one even if does work.. they told me mine didnt work and tried sticking me with a $300 alternator.. i then went to autozone on water st, guy checked it and said it works!!.. so wtf O'Reilly on 41st was just trying to take my money which is bs.. im having an electrical problem so someone said the alternator wires might had melted, when i removed the alternator which was a pita everything looked fine but wanted to test the alternator just in case before I installed it back on.. glad i got a 2nd opinion... you should too!! 2 out of 3 times the staff is not helpful. I needed wipers. They have a sign they put them on for you. After waiting a few minutes another staff member came up. He helped her first and made me wait longer. I left. Service is bad. They might be understaffed but they did not say this. read more

I didn't know O'Reilly had a free service for checking why the check engine light was on in my car. What a relief! The assistant manager, Luis was so friendly and helpful and treated me like I was important. Very refreshing. He gave me a # of a mechanic to call that will be fair. I called a couple of mechanics and only one was available for the next morning and told me I can buy the part and bring it to him. It will definitely save me money! I called Luis back and he ordered the part I needed and it came in the following morning!! When I picked it up the following morning, the manager, Augustine, was so helpful and pleasant. He patiently explained and answered my questions so I would understand why this part is so important for the car! No one does that anymore, and I truly appreciated their patience and kindness. My car battery died on me for some reason. I'd purchased it from O'Reilly a few months back, but hadn't kept the receipt and they could find no record of me in their system. Despite all that, Rodrigo worked through the system and was able to replace the battery for free under warranty. I really appreciated his customer service. On our vacation to New Brighton State Beach, the refrigerator in our trailer decided it needed a new battery. Thanks to my smart phone (what did we do before their creation??) I googled O'Reilly Auto Part which was near the state beach. When we got there, they had the exact battery we needed, and the young gal working impressed my husband when she carried the heavy battery and slinged it up on the counter. Called these guys looking for paint, said they had it in stock. When i arrive no paint to be found. Ask the person i talked to over the phone. Tells me he didn't bother to look, just assured me that it was in stock. (because he was to lazy to walk the 10 feet and check?) Oh well not the end of the world, ill just call the downtown store, The sales associate at the May street location says he has 3 cans in stock. I ask him to physically put 2 of the 3 can aside because i am coming to pick them up now. When i arrive he franticly looks for the paint that he didn't bother putting aside. He told me the computer said he had 3 and didn't bother to actually look. I wasted about an hour driving from store to store and waiting for piss poor service. These guys are a joke and i wont be shopping at either location again. read more

As my car had to be jumped to start my friend suggested the connection was bad. "Giovanni" was so helpfu! He checked out the battery in question (wearing a mask) and showed me where the part was and suggested I watch a video that showed me the details and showed me it could be done if the situation was right! Awesome people here!! Super helpful. Pouring rain loaned me tools and even assisted a Marine Vet from another Vet. Super super super! My battery died on a trip to Family Cycle just down the street, get a jump and drove to O'Reilly Auto Parts. Purchased a new battery and ask for a military discount. The guy helping me Eric happened to be a Marine like myself. Gave me the discount an offered to loan me tools a hand. It was pouring down rain. We get the battery swapped out very quickly. Aeric was an incredible sales person. I arrived with a dead battery. He quickly checked and showed me how the battery was on its last legs. He noted that I have a 6 year warranty and that my existing battery may be replaced for free if its within the warranty period. He wasn't trying to upsell me which was amazing. I opted to replace the battery and he lent me tools to do it. It was quick, easy, and I was off and running in no time. I came by to buy some oil as my car was low, I had some in the back but I wasn't sure I had enough. I asked to buy a funnel and let the guy working behind the counter that I had my own oil and was going to fill it up right now, he asked if I wanted a hand and came out with his funnel and filled up my oil. He explained to me the different kinds of oils I can use (I've always wanted to understand this and no one had ever explained it) and rechecked my oil several times while filling to get it to the right place. I didn't end up spending a penny but my car is happy and I am definitely coming back here anytime I have any auto needs. Very helpful! read more

Did you know that the name "Amanda" means "love"? I walked in a few days ago and Amanda greeted me. I told her, motioning to my neck, that I needed "a thing for my thing" and she knew EXACTLY what I was talking about. She quickly found me a "thing" that was furry and soft. Seriously, I didn't even have to speak in syllables and Amanda took care of me. I can be non-verbal and Amanda will know exactly what I want. Great customer service! I had to awesome easy experiences here. The last one involved windshield wipers. One of the workers explain to me that they more expensive brand was actually a lower-quality. I totally dug his honesty. The worker was friendly over the phone when I called and promised he would gladly help me install my windshield wipers which he did when I arrived and he knew who I was. The time I came here before when people were super helpful I don't remember exactly what it was but I do remember that it was easy and Breezy. So I dig this place. read more

What a bunch of idiots and thugs this place employed. So today I went in for a 4way trailer wire harness. When asking the young Hispanic guy where to find the proper one for my sprinter. As they are slight different he walked me to the correct area but then sat there looking dumbfounded as I explained to him what I was looking for. After awkward serval minuets I decided he was incompetent and I should find another store. As I walked out I patted him on the back and said "you sure you should be working at a auto parts store " at that point he got pretty upset. But I was just being honest. As I was backing out I noticed he was speaking to what looked to be a manager so I decided to go back in and mention my thoughts. Anyway this guy and his buddy decided his best course of action was to take their shirts off and want to fight. I seriously laughed my ass off as I walked out and got into my vehicle. They of course followed trying to entice me into a good ol fashioned 2 on 1. Anyway. So a few minuets later I called and asked to speak with a manager and the lady gets in the phone and in complete disbelief tells me her employee were in the right to react like that and I should take my business else where. Witch is exactly what I'm doing. Any how. If you wanna go fight some Mexican thugs. (No problem with Mexicans I'm actually moving to Mexico in a week and need lights on my trailer ) Then go over to O Riley's on 41st in Santa Cruz. Excellent customer service. They had the exact match for the Toyota headlights my son and I needed, and Andrew came out to make sure the headlight bulbs were the right ones. He also stayed with us to show us how to take out the old bulbs and install the new ones. I didn't think places like this existed any more where customer service is really emphasized. I've gone here for years to get minor maintenance things like fluids, air cleaners, etc. The staff has been pretty good. My main complaint was the often messed-up inventory: online says they have it in-store, get down there, nope. Recently I bought 8 Champion spark plugs, 4 per box, $2.19 each. Went to put them in today, noticed 2 plugs were missing out of one of boxes. Go down with my receipt and the box. Waited at the counter for about a minute and didn't see anyone. Girl came from back, said just a minute. Waited. She came back and I explained what happened. She said all the computers were down and I'd either have to come back later or go to Santa Cruz to get them. I said can you just give me the plugs and make a copy of my receipt and when computers come back up you can sort it out then? She said no, she had to check her inventory to make sure there were actually 2 missing out of the box. I said really, they are a couple of bucks each and what am I gonna do with 2 extra spark plugs anyway, like I'm gonna steal them? And their inventory is always wrong anyway, what's that gonna prove? She said there was nothing she could do but I could call the district manager. So I did, he called her and told her to give me the plugs. I said to her, wouldn't it have been easier to do that in the first place? All she said was, you have a good day sir, sarcastically. No apology ever for the first inconvenience of missing plugs, or the hassle in getting them replaced. I called the manager back, told him thanks for handling it, all he said was sure. No apology from him either. I'd give a 3 star if they apologized, but since neither did and she seemed irritated he gave me the plugs anyway, I give 2. I'd honestly give only 1 now except the other staff there is nice enough so they get a star. Needless to say it'll be Winchester or Mid County from now on; if they don't have it, AutoZone. Lost a decent customer over less than $5 in plugs, too bad. read more

Knowing that there is an aftermarket for a Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor on for a 01 Ford Taurus, I went into this store looking for price and availability. A older guy named Matt was at the parts counter trying to find the part I requested. I had to repeat myself numerous times because he seemed to have trouble remembering the part and the vehicle application because he did not take notes or write it down. After we are both getting frustrated with one another, I ask to see his computer screen to see if I can see anything that resembles the part description. I noticed that Matt was spelling fuel "fule." I told him no, he started clicking random button links with his mouse on the computer screen. I told him to forget it, I'll go somewhere else. Matt then called over another employee named Adam, who is also another know not I had to deal with in the past (see my Kragen, Capitola review.). THIS PLACE IS SHOT. read more
