This was for the store in Santa Maria. I needed new wiper blades and really needed someone to put them on for me. I didn't buy them because he said no one could help me. Went in to grab lightbulbs for my rear license plate lights. The guy at the counter was very helpful, looking up which bulb it was. The other older employee was amazing. He went to grab the lightbulbs for me and explained to me about the coloring on the inside; it gets so hot that it burns the plastic, so I needed to get grease to help with it. Absolute great customer service. I might just drive to this O'Reily's instead of going to SLO. read more

It's a very stormy day in sunny California, my wiper blades shred to pieces 35 miles from home. I arrive in Grover Beach and stop desperate to buy new wipers. They were pricey, but necessary. The part that made my day is Anthony (who sold me the wipers) asks me if I need them installed. I could not believe this - someone to offer help! I held the umbrella, he installed both wipers, I went away relieved and will go back to this store for all my auto needs! read more

They are open late, the place is clean, and the staff was helpful and polite. I came in mid-week around 8:00pm after looking online to confirm they had the struts I wanted for my car. I drove up and walked in, was greeted warmly and asked what I needed. I offered the part numbers I was interested in and the employee went off to go look. He came back with a shopping cart loaded with all I had asked for! I paid, loaded my car and was on my way. I don't know that I could have asked for things to go any smoother or simply. OK, I usually do not give 5 stars for any one BUT. O'reilly just saved me $500. My 2000 ford Ranger Check Engine Light came on. I took it to an independent shop. They charged me $150 for the computer diagnosis. The error code said it was a failed Mass Air Flow Sensor and they quoted me $500 plus $140 labor to replace it. I went on line and found the Mass Air Flow Sensor from as cheap as $50 to up to $500 from the Ford Dealer. O'reilly had M.A.F.'s for $100 to $160. The best part is that they will read the cars error code for free in the parking lot!!!. They just saved me $540 and they would have saved me another $150 if I had gone to them first. The lesson was before you take it to a mechanic, check it out to see if you could do it yourself. I changed it in 15 min., cleared the error code and was up and running. They were very helpful at the Grand ave. O'reilly Auto Parts Store. read more

I had a bad experience at this store today and I won't be going back. I bought a steering wheel cover and tried putting it on in the parking lot. It was very hard to get it on properly so I went back in and asked an employee if someone could help me put it on. He said that nobody was available. Now mind you, there was one other person shopping in the store and I could see 4 employees doing next to nothing. He said to go talk to the manager, Roger. I did, and he basically told me the same thing. I told him that I was just going to return it and he rudely said that was just fine. As I was getting the cover, a younger gentleman came over and asked me if he could put it on for me. (He was the person in there shopping and witnessed how rude I was treated.) He had it put on in less than 5 minutes. I will never set foot in an O'Reilley's again. So I hope that your lack of customer service was worth losing a customer and people reading this bad review. From now on I will go to Auto Zone across the street where I usually go and am treated respectfully. read more

The unforgiving return policy earns this place my lowest score. Granted I didn't have my receipt but in this day and age, come on. If it wasn't printed on an antique carbon paper form maybe I would have kept it. It was their brand of gear oil so I'm pretty sure they knew I got it there. I went in to buy detailing supplies. Wax, polishes, rags, microfiber towels ... I walked in and was promptly greeted and asked if I need help locating anything. I was shown what I was in need of. I then spent a half hour trying to figure out what polish and wax to buy. I was ready to check out and Richard rung me up. We started talking about detailing and then told me the great results he got from a different product they carry. We went back to the isle and gave me a full breakdown on the best products to use after I had already been rung up. Being female and having to deal with anything related to auto repairs can be frustrating for some. I always have to give kudos to those employed in the auto repair industry (Auto Parts Stores included) who have not adapted the "Old School" notion that "all women are stupid when it comes to anything automotive". The gentleman who helped me at this O'Reilly gets my kudos and my thanks for assisting me with my issues, and he not once ever treated me like I had no idea what I was talking about. (personally, I have gotten my hands dirty and have done some minor repairs on my vehicles--I happen to enjoy the challenge!) read more
