For management's reference specificly, he was not wearing anything that identified him as an employee. His appearance was not the issue. His attitude and the way he handled my appointment were the issue. Between this description, the appointment time, and my service records, management will know exactly who I am referring to. There was no professional introduction, and the interaction felt disrespectful and unprofessional from the beginning. He seemed embarrassed that I was there waiting before he arrived, and it felt like his ego took over from that point forward. When he pulled up my appointment, nearly everything written in the notes was incorrect. By the end of the visit, he presented me with an estimate for more than $800 in supposed repairs. The amount seemed outrageous, and the entire situation made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. I declined the work, asked for my keys back, and paid more than $100 for the oil change they had already completed. I immediately drove across the street to SM Tire and asked them to inspect everything Big Brand Tire claimed was wrong. They checked my vehicle and after a multipoint inspection everything was fine. They rotated my tires, treated me with respect, and handled me like a valued customer. The difference between these two businesses was unbelievable. I left Big Brand Tire feeling frustrated, disrespected, and pressured into repairs I did not need. I left SM Tire feeling respected and confident that I had received an honest assessment. SM Tire was quick, responsible, honest, and reliable. They have earned my trust and all of my future business. Save yourself the frustration, wasted time, and questionable repair estimates. Before a cross-country road trip, I took my diesel truck in for an oil change and paid extra for a general inspection. Since it was a diesel, I specifically asked them to check the fuel filter as well. When they called to let me know the truck was ready, I was told everything looked great. A few days later, while driving about 70 mph near Kingman, Arizona, the engine suddenly died. I had the truck towed to the Chevrolet dealership, where they diagnosed a severely clogged fuel filter as the cause of the breakdown. While inspecting the vehicle, they also showed me the air filter, which was so old it had started to disintegrate. It was packed with leaves and debris and clearly had not been inspected recently. Thankfully, there doesn't appear to be any lasting damage to the truck. However, the breakdown cost me half a day of travel, an unexpected overnight stay in Kingman, a towing bill, and nearly $500 at the Chevrolet dealership to replace the filters and get me back on the road. I understand that one employee's oversight doesn't necessarily reflect an entire business. However, after specifically requesting these items be checked and then experiencing a breakdown caused by something that should have been caught, I've lost confidence in the service. If you use this shop, I would recommend double-checking any maintenance items that are supposed to have been inspected.
