But no, second opinion time because well...let's just say I have trust issues where car dealerships are concerned. Off I go to my trusty Auto one because they've always taken good care of me. Honestly I wasn't sure if my current battery was still under warranty so it was worth checking that first. The nice guy at auto zone checked and my battery was out of warranty so he tested it, replaced it, and I was on my way in record time. These guys know what they are doing and in spite of being short staffed that day he did not rush me and was super friendly to deal with. They will remain my go-to!

AAA came out and got it started, and after making some phone calls, my wife found the battery we could afford. We headed for the Auto Zone, and a very nice, pleasant young man (an Air Force veteran) came out in the bitter cold, and quickly installed that battery for us. My wife had had a previous experience with them when I was in the hospital about 12 years ago, and remembered having such a positive experience, she took them some homemade brownies. And apparently, so we could (barely) afford the battery, they had come up with a number of discounts for us. When we need auto parts services from now on, we'll go visit the nice, professional people at that AutoZone. I suggest you should too!

I brought with me a part I had designed to test fit - which I had done before, and I planned to buy a car console. This time they said no external parts come in because of theft. They used to just mark them. I had clearly made my part and it had my markings on it. Oh well. The staff were nice enough. The real benefit of this particular yard is that they have a pretty large selection. Just bring tools and don't tear stuff up, leave the rest in good condition. I found what I was looking for and ended up buying two items.

For the trim even the ity bitty small pieces they wanted to charge $7 a piece which added up to around $200 in trim, for the trunk they said that in order for the trunk to cost what it costs on the website it has to be a bare metal trunk, I've been to countless junkyards and for the trunk they charge it as just the trunk, for the trim they give you a bulk number usually around $10-$15. All those parts almost nobody needs, the car I came in for was never touched after being in there for a month, in the end they will probably just be thrown out or scrapped for nothing which is pretty sad because I could've used them just not for what they want and their attitude, the place is very understaffed and had a line of 10 people when trying to figure out why it costed so much. I went to Eurobahn and was told everyone was busy and I'd have to make an appt for another day. It's a 30 second fix. I had just spoken with someone in sales over the previous weekend and was told that I should just bring it in and it would be a quick reset. The woman managing the flow said there was nothing she could do for me. Everyone was occupied. I couldn't even wait for a technician to be freed up. I felt disrespected by her attitude and response. I went immediately to the BMW dealer on Wendover who addressed it quickly, he also was able to determine exactly what issues were currently due. My car is now having a $300 routine maintenance issue taken care of them. I will not be going back to Eurobahn. I'd rather give my money to a provider who listened and was responsive. Eurobahn couldn't be counted on for a simple ( non repair) fix, so I don't trust them with more complicated maintenance. Nancy
