And after 7 years and 234k miles, it wasn't a surprise. John took care of it and I traveled the 5 hours from home to get my car 2 days later. Super nice guy in a busy shop. (He likes classics too so you know he knows what he's doing.) Being NAVY aviation man gave him creds with me too. In my business TRUST is absolutely essential because clients rely on my guidance to avoid the nightmare of probate for their estate after they die. It would have been very helpful to have an accurate quote (which could have been managed by them looking into the manufacturer's recommendations regarding that model's transmission before quoting me a lower price). When they had finished the repair, they caught a crack in the transmission housing (which seems to have been the manufacturer's fault). I am extremely disappointed and alarmed by what happened at GMC legacy in Slidell, La. A former employee of theirs(my ex husband of approximately 7/8 years) was able to purchase a vehicle in my name -including signing all paperwork without my knowledge or consent. I did not authorize this purchase, nor was I present. I have evidence. Despite no longer working there, this individual exploited the dealership's lax identity-verification process to secure a loan under my Social Security number: As a result, I'm facing: - [ ] A fraudulent auto loan on my credit report. - [ ] Emotional distress and hours lost disputing this crime. I have since filed reports with my local police department , DMV, and I met with the owner Mr Adam Bowen(to give his business the opportunity to make it right, however it was unsuccessful) but GMC Legacy must also be held accountable for allowing an ex -staff member to retain document-signing privileges. Do NOT do business here if you value your personal information. Until they overhaul their security and retrain their staff on proper ID checks, any transaction here puts you at risk of Identity theft.
