Also, we called multiple shops and this one was the most reasonable in cost estimates. Out of all the shops we called, John was the most helpful and sincere over the phone. Most importantly, John listened very carefully to our questions, concerns, and ideas. We told John that our car smelled like gasoline and that we needed to find and fix the possible leak. Unlike other shops, John expressed concerned about gasoline-related hazards and our safety. Also, Carlos was nice to us and helped us set an appointment. So after setting an appointment, we brought our car in the morning and met John. John treated us like family from the start. He was very friendly and honest. Right away, he looked under the hood and explained to us what the problem was. He was patient with us and described fully what our issue was and what are options were. We needed to replace the Fuel Regulator. John tried to make it cost-effective for us and gave us a reasonable price. Although they had to order the part from Bridgeport, John got it quickly and worked on our car promptly. Our car issue was resolved and we are extremely happy! For future issues, we now know where to go. We strongly recommend Mike's Auto Clinic.

But failing to give explanations, return my calls, or lock my car overnight (I walked there when I had heard nothing all day and discovered the shop closed and my car unlocked in their parking lot) and then to ask me for cash, is all to add insult to injury. Finally, after having my car towed there for the second time, as arranged the day before, but hearing nothing 24 hours later, I called and was told simply and directly that my car's repair was "not a priority" for them. I understand that this shop has been beloved in Hamden for many years, but unfortunately something or somebody there must have changed. I would never have been disrespected like this at home in Ohio and I am starting to regret moving here.

My husband works at the Mavis Discount Tire shop in New Milford, and the day we got married we arrived home very late because of our wedding celebration. Unfortunately, he had to leave me alone the next morning because he was told he had to open the store. I understand work responsibilities are important, but this was the first day of our marriage, which should have been our honeymoon time together. I believe there were other employees who could have opened the store or switched shifts.
