Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. We called the online help number to get our phone fixed. They told us to schedule a time to visit Geek Squad in the store. We did that and went to the store at the appointment time. After being at the store for an hour the Geek Squad member told us that they can't help us with the Geek Squad Protection plan. From there they told us to go online and call a number. We then went back home and called the number. Only to have them try to set us up with an in-store Geek Squad appointment. We explained to them we already did that and the Geek Squad member told us to call the online number. Then the call center proceeded to hang up. We called back, asked for a manager, after more time on hold they hung up on us. So then we called the store, only to find out calling the store just sends you to the call center. Their answer for getting ahold of someone in the store???? Just keep calling the store until it doesn't send you to the call center. What a terrible way to treat your customer. First you waste our time in store, then you waste our time with a call center. There isn't even an option to allow me to just wait for the store team to not be busy. Completely unacceptable way to treat your customer. This holiday season I will be skipping best buy and I suggest you do to. read more

Purchased a TV with my 95 yr old mother. Two nice guys delivered it yo her home and set it up, for a fee. The store sold us a protection plan for the TV ($179.00) so that she could call for in home help if needed. The guys delivering it concurred. A year and another $179.00 later, we called to have someone check on why the sound was going in and out. The person on the phone told us that our protection plan did not cover this TV. Upon inquiring form the stores clerk and showing her what is advertised online she checked with another check and they informed me that the price is actually $399. I also placed a "Pick up ready in as little as 1 hour" order. An entire day passes between the order being placed and me then contacting customer support to inquire why, they say oh it's ready we just contacted the store just go down there and let them know you spoke to us. I went down there and did exactly that the female manager on duty came over and explained due to a payment verification issue I couldn't get the item, I then tell her I had spoke to customer service and they advised me to come down regardless and just tell them my issue and they would take care of it for me. I then told that to the manager and said I had pictures of our text exchange I could show her for proof. Her response "I bet you do, but you still can't get your item." This store does not have the ability to properly keep track of their inventory. So far for the past 5 years they have not been able to fulfill in-store pickups 100% of the time because they simply cannot find their items. The store managers have said that they won't stock items they don't sell or have a demand for, so if they don't stock items then they can't sell them, so they won't stock them, see the cycle there? They might as well just shut down the store if that's their business model. Don't waste your time here. APPLE REPAIR IS POORLY MANAGED at this Best Buy location. Made an appointment three days before on their website to replace a battery in my iPhone. Received text confirmations from them the morning of, for my appointment. I'm driving to my appointment 1/2 mile away from the store and 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment when I received a phone call from them. The caller tells me their one Apple repair person is out today and they also did not have the battery for my iPhone. They suggested I could leave my phone there for 2 to 3 days, which was not an option for me. Very disappointed and will never use them again for Apple repair. *** As I'm writing this review, I'm receiving a text from them right now stating I missed my scheduled appointment today. We live over an hour away but purchased a preowned computer for over $500 which was $300 off from the new price. A good deal but it was gaurenteed to be cleaned and reset to factory settings. First my daughter went down there and placed the online order @ 7:50 pm but it didn't process until 8:08 so they then would not go into the back to get it since they close at 9pm which was super fucking ridiculous saying they didn't have time to package it. So 3 days later I drive over an hour to pick it up and they plop it on the counter with a super dirty mouse, gross keyboard and a tower with a clear glass side FULL of dust. Oh and they wrapped some bubble tape around it and gave me an over sized box after I asked which the bottom wasn't taped all the way and it almost crashed onto the floor. We get it home and see the tower is cover in sticky shit and after plugging it in the original owner is STILL SIGNED IN so we now have a $530 paper weight. We call BB and they tell us that we will have to pay to have it factory reset and the closer West Hartford store which ISN'T happening and then they want to bring it back to Notth Haven for a 8:40 pm appointment to reset it which means we will have to leave it and drive over an hour back for the 4th time to pick it up another day and there was no gaurentee it would be free because we had no way to call the store directly only a central customer service. Worst fucking experience ever! Last time I give my business to BB and I'm returning this POS. Update looking at the label and start up screen this POS is almost 2 years old and that was never disclosed. It was "stated" that it was no more that approx 6-10 months old. read more

Been without use of our refrigerator for 17 days. 1st repair appt stated they were unable to repair without ordering part. 11 days later they replaced the mother board. Unit is still not cooling. Best Buy has to send out another 3rd party company to confirm the replacement was done and the unit is not working. Appointment has yet to be made. Followed protocol given by representative to have the unit repaired and if unable to be repaired they would replace unit. Now I'm told there are additional processes in the protocol. I've spent over five hours on the phone with representatives with most referring to them approving the $300 spoilage claim has a consolation, this claim didn't even cover everything lost. If I could give negative stars I would. I would never buy from Best Buy again, and hope you read this all in it's entirety and use this as a cautionary tale and seek a different company to buy your appliances from. read more

Hi there... Due to the dreaded, "OMG this computer is soooooo slow" statement, more than once. I had to call up the guys and girls in Black and Orange. They are so methodical in response, "if we can make an appointment for you to bring the device to the store, it will take about 20 minutes", we can tell you more. Well I made the appointment and again expected to wait... I waited about 5, yes 5, minutes. The technician advised that I would need to leave it for a few days to be diagnosed. I got a call, a few days later, to advise it was ready for pickup. I waited 5 minutes, again and was pleasantly surprised that there was NO CHARGE. Oh because I forgot about the service contract. I have experienced Best Buy decline for a while now. After spending over $5,000 on electronics they gave misinformation to sell protection plans that don't protect. Then they keep passing you off from one person to another with a promise that your issue is valid and can be approved by the next higher up. When you get no resolution, it is by a rude person with no people skills telling you we screwed up, but too bad. I also notice that all their reviews over the years go without a response. They clearly do not give a d@£n. I wonder if any of them will care when the company goes under along with their jobs. I will never buy one more item from Best Buy. Most employees at the various stores had minimal knowledge and less personality. We decided to travel to North Haven and were promptly greeted by Joseph. What a tremendous salesperson with great knowledge! We decided to make our purchase but the store was sold out. Joseph told us it would be shipped. Came in yesterday for a few items. As far as cell phone screen protectors go, them must have some sort of contract with Zagg as those are the only brand they carry for any phone. Not a fan. Their variety of headphones, well.....was eh. We did get a sweet new laptop though. I made sure to check online to make sure this store had it in stock first. Of course when we sent a Best Buy worker in search of it, he said he couldn't find it and he didn't think they had any. (Same thing happened a while ago with my boyfriend in search of a tv they had there) Low and behold, I insisted they had it and to go search again for that particular one.... they had it. I will never shop at Best Buy again. Their tech support or "Geek Squad" is incompetent, and the store associates seem to go out of their way to create problems rather than solve them. My relationship with this retailer spans the course of several years, and includes paying for, but not receiving adequate computer repairs, purchasing and returning home security cameras which were promptly hacked, and altered, and most recently, an "assistant manager's" refusal to honor a warranty on a Blink security camera. These people appear to be more interested in gaslighting, and abusing customers rather than providing honest, accountable, gracious service. The management is pathetic...the district or regional should perform oversight on this location....when you enter, there are always 3 or 4 kids at the door...if they greet you, and I say if, no one offer a to help. I asked for a cart...the kid (I say kid because most hire are like 16 and clueless); he shrugs his shoulders and says they are a battered in the parking lot...so...getboff your ass and return them to the store! This review is for the cell phone department in North Haven. I've been there twice in the last couple of days and received excellent service. (It sure beats going to Verizon down the street or the awful Best Buy in Meriden.) Joel was extremely help in setting up my new phone that I had purchased online through BB, along with the screen protector, also purchased online through BB. First, he put the screen protector on for me, which I never attempt to do for fear of messing it up. He also helped with setting up the phone, which should've been easy, but he took the time to work everything out. Great service! Thanks, Joel! And then yesterday we went through the same process with another gentleman working in the same dept putting on the screen protector for my daughter's phone. No issues at all - same great service! Thank you to the man without a nametag!!! And to the guy at the Best Buy in Meriden, you will get no thanks for telling me it would cost me $7.99 to put my screen protector on, regardless of the fact that both were purchased at Best Buy. I made the mistake of going into PC Richard (next plaza over) and making an impulse purchase of 2 cameras (like a sucker)! So when I wanted to just check the prices at Best Buy, not only were their prices cheaper, but their advertised price was the same price that the guy at PC Richard said he was giving a "hook up" for! Thank my lucky stars I was able to return my ridiculous purchase of over $700 at PC Richard, and buy the most awesome Nikon that did everything I wanted for just over $400. And in that price I purchased a 1 year warranty (which I had to use already because I dropped my camera!), a camera case, and I received a free shutterfly photo book coupon!
