A Refreshing Change to O'Reilly Auto in Pollock Pines After a disappointing visit to NAPA Auto Parts in Placerville, I decided to give O'Reilly Auto in Pollock Pines a try--and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the experience was completely different. I came in for brake pads and had questions about which floor jack and stands would be best for my vehicle. The female manager went above and beyond: not only did she walk me through the options and explain what would work, she also checked to see if any of the tools would be going on sale soon to help me save money. That level of care and attention really stood out. I was so impressed and grateful that I ended up purchasing both the heavier-duty jack and stands right then and there. I was on my way to Lake Tahoe with my daughter and two grandkids. Stopped for breakfast. Started car after and check engine light came on. Along with a bunch of other lights. They scanned my car and found the mass airflow sensor went bad. 79 miles from home. Long story short Chad helped me. They had the part. He installed it and I was back on the road! He got the battery and cashed me out without fanfare THEN he kindly installed it for me! I was back on the toad in time for my second appointment. 5/28/2025 I had trouble with my car driving over the Sierra's, rattling & shaking & knew I could not get to the Bay Area. I pulled into O'Reilly Auto parts & Ted helped me immediately and sent me on to Technician Plus Auto Repair. He said they wouldn't overbill me. I went down there & was immediately greeted by Mike. Mike was wonderful to me even though they had 7 or so cars out there ahead of me. It turned out to be a loose bolt that he tightened and got me back on the road. I was overwhelmed by both Ted's concern and directing me to a mechanic that took me right away, was honest. Truly amazing to me that when the bottom falls out, nice people catch you & take care of me and my car. The attention everyone gave me really blew a fresh wind back in my heart about people helping people. Thank you so much. I was in the Placerville store looking for a part. $168, delivered that afternoon from the Pollock Pines store. I told them I'd go up and get the part from Pollock Pines. So, off I go. I arrive at Pollock Pines and the part is $199. I tell the guy (Rick, or Vic, or Nic ... can't remember but rhymes with ...) it was $168 at Placerville. His reply is that the parts are more, because they have to drive to Placerville to get their parts. I point out that if I had ordered the part from Placerville and had it delivered that afternoon from his store, it would have been $168. He says, "Order it from Placerville." Nope. I was in yesterday only hoping they would have one hose I needed because the other seemed impossible to find at other auto part stores. I had gone to the O'Reilly store in Placerville the day before but they gave me the wrong size and wrong type of hose. Very friendly and patient though. But at this Pollock Pines location, these guys knew EXACTLY what I needed within a few minutes. Jordan helped me yesterday and found the two hoses I needed, the correct size and type vacuum hose and the other hose. Today, I went in for a brake light/blinker and Tyler found it immediately only looking at my car, and he put it in for me. I Was in route from the bay area and developed a sudden transmission issue with my car. I managed to frantically get to O'Reillys and was pleasantly greeted by employee Robert who could not have been more caring and helpful. He definitely went over the call of duty and even provided me with the necessary codes and info needed for the necessary repairs. I would highly recommend this Auto store and Roberts assistance. Prior to the holidays my daughter needed help with her headlights as well as problems within her driver side door panel. Her and I tried our best to fix it on our own but we ended up needing to go to their store in Pollock Pines multiple times over the course of a week. The help we received each visit was phenomenal. The staff even took the time to come out to her car and help us with putting the door panel back in place (no small feat) as well as helped her with installing a head light bulb. A huge 'Way To Go' to O'Reilly's!!! I was on my way to go down the hill with my son, and the car wouldn't start - lots of lights lighting up, but not starting. My husband figured it was the battery, so my son and I had to get out of the car... except that we couldn't open the back of the SUV to get my son's wheelchair out, to get him back in the house!! Finally figured that out, and my husband went up to O'Reilly's to get a new battery. They didn't have what we needed, but the Placerville store did - they'd send it up the next day... OK, no problem. They called the Placerville store, which gave an employee a little time off, so he could deliver the battery we needed to the Pollock Pines store!!! My favorite store was closed and since I only wanted to try some wheel cleaner I went here instead. I avoid anyplace but Napa because they just seem to hire anyone. There was a girl and a kid there. I asked if they had ever used the no scrub wheel cleaner. They both looked at me as if I asked them to explain The Quantum Physics of Atomic Frequency Standards. No, seriously. Is it really no scrub? I have to say that not only is the management wonderful, BUT SO IS THE STAFF!!!!! I have met Robert outside O'Rielly... and he was always professional and friendly...I have also visited this location recently with various car problems. No matter who was working any day, they all upheld a high level of professionalism and integrity. I was especially impressed when I brought in a power steering pump housing completely unassembled, and a worker there helped me walk through the pump disassembly , reassembly and other important info.... I was blown away!!! These people really care about you and want your business! They will go the extra mile, and then some to get your car working at it's best! Miracle story. Let's set the scene, it's Sunday I am driving in the rain to get home to the bay. My battery light turn on swiftly followed by my check engine light. I google what to do, call a buddy who is a mechanic and we need to stop to test the battery and find out if we need a new alternator. We arrive at the store and the Manager Debbie is swiftly out the door with the diagnostic computer. Sure enough we need a new alternator. We can buy one but there are no mechanics to drop it in, it's Sunday. In walks the Hero. Robert Wheatley, instead of taking his lunch break he rolls out the tool tray and stands in the wind and rain and changes out the alternator on the spot. Can we can again, HERO. He got these two woman back in the road in under 45 minutes without batting an eyelash and so so kind. We are so GRATEFUL. Thank you so much. Neither my husband or myself have ever had poor customer service from the folks at this O'Reilly's Auto Parts store. From installing new windshield wipers in the parking lot, loaning out a specialty tool to do a brake job on a Mini Cooper, to rushing out the front door when I pulled in and popped my hood (just this past week). I just needed to see what type of oil I needed for an oil change, but the young lady who came out thought I might be in some trouble with my Jeep. When she found out it was the type of oil I was looking for, she suggested a 5-quart container for around $25.00, instead of selling me 5-quarts individually to the tune of around $35.00. She was so helpful and friendly, that I asked to speak to the Manager to rat her out for providing such fantastic customer service. With having two choices for an auto parts store in Pollock Pines, O'Reilly's and Riebe's are both great choices! Thank you for being such an integral part of our community. read more
