Just a heads up. Got a quote for an oil change and it was pricey for a 20 year old car. Got it done and read the notes when I got into my vehicle to see if there were and notes or suggestions. I didn't see any so I went back inside and inquired if they check other fluids. Nope. I was a bit stunned. For $116 I would expect it. They don't carry any other fluids I was told. Yikes. read more

This Les Schwab Placerville Ca. location ruined all 4 rims of our new Hyundai! We bought 4 tires for our Tucson to replace the factory tires (that had never been removed), and when they were done, all 4 rims were scratched the same way around the circumference of each wheel. We showed the lead employee and the shop worker what happened and we all took pictures of the damage. The person in charge that day said we would have to wait until the manager, Doug Nunn, came in on Tuesday, since he was unable to do anything about it. I called the manager on Tuesday and sent him pictures and then he told me their shop didn't do that damage, even though his own employees all saw it. He accused me and my wife of lying about the damage and said it was my word against his. We then contacted Les Schwab Corporate Headquarters in Bend, Or., and after their review of the damage and 4 weeks later (and a lot of headache and our time), we got our rims replaced with 4 remanufactured rims. The rims look OK, but are not ideal. And after hours and hours of our time, fuel, phone calls and headache, even their headquarters would not even throw us a bone for our trouble. Not a 10% off coupon towards our next purchase or an apology. NOTHING!! read more

I showed up without an appointment around 11:30am to get a tire repaired. The staff were very polite and told me it would be $20.99, after the repair the technician checked all other tires air pressure installed rim and put the spare back under the truck. He came up to me with the receipt that he had crossed out the $20.99 and changed me $0.00. I asked if this was right and he said yes thank you and have a great day. Had a nail or screw in tire and tire pressure light came on. Walked into Les Schwab and said I could wait or pick up. I was expecting to have to get 2 new tires and worried about funds. To my surprise car was ready in one hour as they said and took out my credit card expecting to pay. Happy to see ZERO on the bill! Unavailable, half the time I call they say "stop doing those an hour ago" just to avoid doing any work as they prep to close 2 hours before the closing time. They tried up-charging my wife an extra $100 for tire change after I was quoted less per tire over the phone recently. Just never had a decent experience here. Went in to have my truck aligned and my tires rotated balanced and aligned. I requested they flip the tire to opposite side because tires have different sidewalls. Employee said he understood I wanted sidewalls to match. When I came to pick it up the sidewalls were still the same as when I dropped it off. I asked to speak to a manager and the employee said he was the manager and I knew he was not. They said I would have to wait several more hours for them to complete the work. Ended up getting a check in the mail for the incomplete work they didn't finish. Employee got violent with me. I won't be returning. read more

Thought I'd write a little review about an experience I had at Les Schwab tire center. I put my faith in them for the last probably 20 years when I moved to Placerville I've always gone to them for tire, rotations and balancing and other automobile circumstances recently I went in for a check up and was told I needed brakes at that time. I also requested to have my tires rotated. They informed me that I needed the wheel alignment because my tires were wearing on the inside. I've always gone here for my rotations and yet I just bought the tires two years ago and I got another opinion that told me I had been going about 20 to 30,000 miles with this problem so nobody has ever checked it until this time. Needless to say I may have needed a front end alignment, but I also needed ball joints which was the main problem. I would think they would've noticed this a long time ago, especially since they notice my brakes were gone and I had to have them replaced! They just didn't check far enough.They just lost my business. I won't go back. DS read more

April : called them because we got a flat on the freeway and after putting spare on we would make it just at close. I called to ask if the would stay to help us they said no. I was shocked so we left the car there overnight. Today. Called ahead and asked if they would remove calipers after visual break inspection. They said yes and it would be $20. Great! I take it in and explain the issue and the request, and a really long story short they wouldn't do the inspection we were paying for. I asked 5x about the calipers and they would not do it. Reason : the tech said it looks okay visually. Great- BUT we wanted a more in-depth inspection and they refused!!! I even made an appt!!!! So a lug nut was cross threaded, the broke it. They wanted $200 to drill it out. They told me I could not drive on it but my husband could? They told me that I would not be allowed to leave with only 3 lug nuts and that the tire could not go back on. Then my husband called and all of a sudden the wheel goes back on and it's drivable. All this drama and wasted time , terrible treatment.... All over a $20 service they said they would do over the phone but refused to do in person, then snapped off a lug nut and caused me more damage/money. So instead of doing the $20 service they wanted to charge me 200.... And even after the 200 the still wouldn't do the $20 inspection Never had issues at Les schwab. Won't ever go back. Response to business: I scheduled a service in advance. I called to confirm they would do it. I showed up on time an on check-in I asked them to do in extra inspection and that I would pay. I asked 3 more times while I was working with the staff if they could please do the extra inspection, they refused. They focused on the broken bolt and told me I could not drive reason : wheel won't go back on. But then when my husband called the wheel went back on and they told him they only advised me not to drive. NO! I was told I could not drive. They wouldn't even do the extra inspection after my husband asked them to. The broken bolt is not my issue. Issue is that I had to ask 5x for a service yet refused and my husband was treated and told different info than I. read more

I had a blow out on my 40 foot fifth wheel trailer up on I50. I pulled off the freeway and across the street from a less schwab. I needed a little help getting the trailer up higher then my Jack could do. Everyone at this store was so helpful and assisted me in changing my tire in record time. If I could give them no stars I would. This was the only place I would go for tires like 15years ago. I don't know what happened, but this place has turn into a joke. They say they can't do any because I had a little more wear on the inside edge than the outside, so they couldn't even mount them on my car. They also sold the guy I bought the car from a factory bad rim, and he had no idea, when I got it, I had to go back to them 6 times in two weeks, and they kept saying it was just out of balance. I had to to another tire shop for them to tell me that the rim had a factory defect that could not be fixed. And since it changed ownership les swab said there is nothing they can do to help. Do not buy your tires here, they will not have your back. read more

Sorry but, I am disappointed about this place. I have recently noticed that my 2013 Dodge Ram had a slight vibration when moving at 70 mph. So, as a retired Teamster truck driver (37yrs), I figured it's a tire balance. Les Schwab's tires tells me, that two of the tires are "out of round". Not good. The tires are Bfgoodrich all terrain, no warranty, American made. I thought damn, spend more money. So, I then call the company that I purchased them. Bring it in and we'll see what's up. So I did. 30 minutes later and NO CHARGES, done. No more vibrations. The issue was the tires WERE "out of balance" and now are back to normal. As I was paying, the employee at Les Schwab's tried to talk me into buying NEW tires. I wasn't born yesterday. All this makes me wonder about these big conglomerates, by feeding the people B.S.. I stopped in for a tire rotation and brake check on 11/22 and informed them of a sound my car was making. They found that the bearings in my wheel hub were bad so they replaced the hub assembly. Unfortunately, the hub they used had a bad ABS connection which opened up a can of worms (loss of 4WD, other systems affected). They tried to fix the issue but advised me to have the dealer diagnose the problems. After doing some research on my own and seeing the potential costs involved (and after being turned away from another LS location who basically made zero effort to help me) I called the Placerville location back and asked them to try a different hub before I wasted money elsewhere. Aaron ordered the new hub assembly yesterday and Paul installed it first thing this morning for me. I would have given 5 stars but I feel like this could have been resolved more quickly if they just tried swapping out the hub sooner rather than send me elsewhere to deal with it on my own. Thank you Aaron and Paul for getting me back on the road! read more

Paul from Les Schwab saved me big time. My family and I were returning from Tahoe and I needed to remove the chains from my truck. I messed up and got one of them wrapped around my wheel. I walked over to Les Schwab hoping someone could help me out and Paul not only got the chains off, he refused to take any money! They told me my strut was leaking and quoted me for struts and shocks replacement for $1,388. They tried to convince me to do it ASAP. I took it to Robinson's auto for second opinion and they reinspected for me for $63 and the mechanic brought me to show me where were the problem were located on my car and their were no issues. Ok so I am a huge FAN of les Schabb . My store has always been in West Sac off west capital, GREAT store by the way. Go check it out. I have come accustomed to there GREAT ATTITUDES and ability to function and operate professionally with great workmanship in a timely manner ... I moved to placerville about two months ago. and have had the complete opposite experience thus far. I had to push and ask many questions to get the info needed. It's like there overwhelmed and just want to get u done and gone. They don't want to take the time to show options or try to be accommodating at all .. I do believe there under staffed the two times I've been here , but it's not the les Schabb experience I know. The manager was grumpy and not very friendly both times I've been here . Steve , jeremy and another gal that was here we're competent and tried to do what they could for me and I appreciate that. Made an appointment for 11:00am and it's now 11:40 and my vehicle is still not in the bay. Why make an appointment. The women behind the main desk was a snot and rolled her eyes when I asked about how long it was going to take. She said my truck was next up when I checked in and just told me that again. I can't stand liars and businesses that make appointments they can't keep. I'm going someplace else if this does not change. Tires were finally put on by 12:30. The woman behind the counter, Amanda, did not say thank you for our business nor did she tender an apology for getting my truck in an hour and 10 minutes late. I took my car to this place on Friday, 2/18 to have the tires rotated and rebalanced as required by their warranty. Looking back I can now say that I have never been treated as rudely and insultingly by any automotive shop. To make matters worse they did nothing to my car and then lied about it. Rest assured I will never set foot in a Les Schwab store again and I encourage you to stay away from these liars and rip-off artists. read more

I bought a tire size up for my car and went here to try to get them installed and aligned. after getting all the paper work done and waiting there for about an hour, the service writer tells me that the new tires I bought won't fit the car, then he tries to convince me by showing me by putting the new tires next to the old ones. I've done my research so I was 100% confident that they would fit. It was obvious he didn't know wtf he was talking about.. New to the area and took my daughters car to a local tire shop for a slow leak in one tire. They immediately said it needed new tires instead of checking the tire for the cause of the leak. I called Lea Schwab to order tires and make an appointment for install. Incredibly helpful and amazing customer service explaining the options and costs of each option. My daughter took her car in to have the tires replaced and not only did they say she didn't need new tires they offered to fix the slow leak for free. on our way to tahoe from san fran, about 45 mins away and blew a tire. called Schwab to make sure they could help me, backtracked about 10 miles on a run-flat, had one customer ahead of me, and hoped it was a fix instead of buying 4 new tires. they took a look, got it fixed and that was it. asked what i owed, front desk guy said 'nothing, you're good to go'. last time i remember getting that kind of outcome was around 1976. give these guys your business, they deserve it read more

On a long drive recently, I got notification that my tire pressure was low. Went to a service station to put in air - having either a blonde or senior moment (I am neither), I ended up taking air out. :forehead slap:. Fortunately, I had seen Les Schwab on my way to Shoestring, so I circled back and announced my incompetence. I was met with friendly staff who were more than happy to let me pull up to a bay where they checked all four tires. Saved the day and it was safe to drive back home.
