YOU WILL WANT TO READ THIS REVIEW! I used this company because I wanted to use a local company. I was going to get two jeeps sprayed but reduced it to one just in case. Good thing I did. I asked if they would be able to remove certain items and screws instead of spraying over them. I was told not an issue at all. I brought my jeep in and showed them exactly what I wanted done. I left feeling they had a good understanding.. That was not the case! When I came to pick up my jeep I was told that they had broke one of my bolts "due to rust" and they were too scared to take the rest out. The bolt they broke was the door bolt nut. I have taken these off and on several times throughout the year and never had any issues at all with them. Then I was directed to some side mirror mounts where the worker said he could not get them undone at all. So instead of calling me and asking... he just line X'd the whole thing. He did not even try and remove any screws or tape over any screw or bolt heads.. pretty much did a lazy get it done LineX job. Only reason this is not a 1 star is due to the actual lineX itself. It looks decent but I am sure I am going to have issues down the road. I would avoid this location at all cost! After my issues my neighbor and some of my 4 wheel buddies said they had the same issues there. (thanks for telling me after). read more

I thought since there were many positive Yelp reviews that it would be a fine place. No, the reviews must be from people who caught the owner on a good day or people that she knows. I received uninformative and condescending customer service the two times I spoke to her on the phone and during the appointment. She was very rude and acted like I was taking her precious time by asking questions about the length of the appointment on the phone. During the appointment she was rude, as well, because I was supposed to know about the process myself through clairvoyance. I am rating it a 1 for overall customer service failing because I had to drive quite a way and rearrange my schedule to get sideways comments and condescension. I think she has so much business (because the next Line-X provider is in Rancho Cordova) that she feels entitled to act however she feels. I am a woman so I can say this: she demonstrates typical woman "bitchy" behavior that has no place in an auto shop and no place in business, period. read more

I bought a Shell for my new truck in December, Had a bed liner installed, some electrical work to the truck So the tailgate and shell door lock with my key. Recently ordered a rack for the shell and truck . Had a toolbox sprayed with line-x and some work done to my dump trailer. Had our pickup bed and a rack I made for a fuel tank sprayed here at PV line x and I can't say enough about the quality job they did. Everybody that has seen it loves it and I know they will get at least 1 more job from someone who has seen it. Horrible customer service. I purchased a product through Thompson's GMC. I never got a receipt for warranty from GMC so I asked Lisa for one . She was rude and condescending and told me I wasn't her customer that GMC was. I explained that they couldn't find the receipt and to send it to me. She wouldn't do it. I asked her to send it to them and she gave me resistance. Finally she said she would and hung up on me. Last year she over bid a fifth wheel hitch for me by $700. In a world where customer service that meets expectations seems to be less than the norm, service that exceeds expectations is truly rare territory. Rare territory is exactly what I experienced with Line-X of Placerville. My story starts in Rancho Cordova with the only other authorized Line-X dealer in the Sac area. I called to inquire about having the swim deck on my boat done and was told that they were very busy and that it would be two weeks before they could get to it, but that if I wanted to bring it in that they might squeeze it in sooner. I confirmed the limited business hours of 9-5 Wednesday through Friday and stated that I would need to leave work early in order to drop it off by 5. When I showed up at 4:30 the business was closed and there was no answer on the phone either. Having already left work early and with the swim deck in the back of the truck, I found Line-X of Placerville and called to inquire about their closing time. As one would expect, it was at that point 20 minutes until their normal closing time. To my great surprise the owner of the Placerville location told me that she would wait for me as long as it took to get there, knowing that I was at least 45 minutes to an hour away. At a $350 charge, it's not as if this was a big sale or a lot profit, but this lady understood good business. I was surprised once again when I was told that I could pick the swim deck back up the following Monday if I wanted it that quickly. I explained that the following Friday would be the soonest I could make it back. The owner then offered that if she needed to stay late in order give me enough time to make it there after work again that she would gladly do so. Again, an offer that was far and above anything that I would expect. With this kind of service I would have gladly paid a premium, but instead Line-X of Placerville wanted to know what their competitor had quoted so they could make sure their price wasn't more. Yet another positive to the Placerville location is that you can have the Line-X done in any of the available color options. The place in Rancho told me they would only do standard black because it was "too much trouble" to mix up a color. I would normally be anti most things that entailed a drive to Placerville, but this one was absolutely worth the extra drive. I don't think you could possibly ask for any better service. read more

I've used Lisa for two jobs now on my truck, and in both cases the service and treatment was excellent. I first had her do a Line-X bed liner and a 5th wheel hitch installation. We coordinated the job (I was out of the area, and took 3 hours to get there) so that the parts were ready when I arrived, the work quality was outstanding. Truck was ready when promised, they even installed my in-bed tool box I brought with me for no additional cost. It was worth the time to go to Placerville, as I saved $400 from what it would have cost to have the job done in San Jose, where I am from. A few weeks later, I took the truck back to Lisa to have a set of air bags installed. Same result, work was done well, truck was ready when promised, and I saved $200 over what I would have paid in San Jose. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lisa again to anyone willing to go to Placerville. Todd read more

Easily my BEST U-Haul experience EVER! This place was great. The customer service was amazing. Super Helpful, very efficient and quick, and definitely seemed like they cared about their customers. If I ever need a U-Haul again I will definitely be going to Line-X in Placerville and would recommend this place to anyone who is in need of truck rentals for their next move or just a truck rental in general. Besides the U-Haul rentals this place also has many other great items for sale and I have heard several people from around town comment how amazing the staff is at this place and how they really care, it doesn't get better than this place. Had side steps placed on my husbands brand new Tundra Truck. When we picked up... there was mud everywhere on the drivers side and on the clothe floor mats. When I called, I was being nice at first...just. to mention that they should have place some kind of papers down to prevent this from happening again. Lisa then got a real bad attitude with me. The people were friendly and cordial but I had to call them to see if my shell was there and schedule an appointment. Not only that but once I got it installed the shell was not what they showed me in the pictures and it is not what I thought it would look like. The shell was not flush with my tailgate and the pictures they showed me were not for FORD but for a Chevy and GMC. After I got home the windows were dirty and not cleaned even thought they said they cleaned it and on the inside there were spider webs, dirt, and dead bugs all over. Also they said it would be done within 1-2 hours but when I came back to the place after two hours it took them another hour until I got my truck. This deserves one star because although the people were cordial their service is crappy. I would not recommend this place if you want to get anything for your vehicle. read more

I asked the local Toyota dealer if they could install a tonneau cover on my Tacoma. They couldn't, but referred me to LINE-X and said that Lisa (the owner) does good work. So I walked in and Lisa immediately jumped up and asked how she could help. They had small models of the covers I was interested in set up in the store so I could see what they were like, which was very helpful. I was very impressed by how much stuff they had and what they could do -- just about anything you'd want for beefing up your vehicle or towing. I think of trucks and towing as "guy stuff" but Lisa really knew what she was talking about. Her prices were the same as the internet prices I'd been looking at, and she made me a good deal on the installation. I also had some tool boxes installed. The items arrived in a couple of days and they installed them the next day. The day after they were installed we got some heavy rain, so I was interested to see if water got in: none at all, bone dry. There was one small glitch, where a small tray in one of the toolboxes was missing. It hadn't come with the toolbox and that was overlooked in the installation, but Lisa gave me one from another box so I wouldn't have to wait while she got another from the supplier. Overall, I was very impressed with the friendliness and service, and all the stuff they could do there (they even make specialty trailers.) A great place to browse for "guy stuff" for your truck! read more

I went in to this place for the first time looking for help with a broken remote key fob for a Snug Top Tonneau cover which this place is an authorized dealer. Not only couldn't the old man tell me about how to replace the battery or where to get them, as he didn't carry them, he couldn't tell me how to fix the cracked key fob. While I was talking to him, he got a phone call and instead of putting them on hold to finish helping me, he continued to talk with them while ignoring me. When, I interrupted him to remind him I was still there waiting, he got all spastic and yelled "I can't do two things at once" and slammed down the phone. I had also asked him about service for my cover as one of the hinges needs adjustment, but he never even brought that up again. It was like he was too busy and had more important things to do. I drove the twenty miles home and called CampWorld who is the other authorized dealer about my issues with the fob. Dave, if I remember correctly, not only took the time to tell me where to get replacement batteries as they didn't carry them. But, he also told me about a work around for the cracked key fob so I could get a replacement key made that wouldn't crack. It's an old Dodge truck key style apparently. I will always take my business to CampWorld and I would never, ever give this LINE-X of Placerville place my business based on the old guy in the green sweatshirt's attitude. I think he was the owner, at least he acted like it. People in Placerville and surrounds want people from down in El Dorado Hills to shop up the hill to support their businesses.
