He did not check the charge on the battery before giving it to me. I get the battery home and install it into my UPS and the unit shows no charge in the battery. I call the store and speak with Megan. I tell her I am going to charge the battery and she says the UPS itself may be faulty. I agree. I charge the battery for 16 hours overnight with little hope. I turn it on, and lo and behold the UPS is showing a full battery charge. When I call to tell them they sold me an uncharged battery Megan tells me that this was "impossible" because all their batteries are sold fully charged. She speaks with Chris the manager, and comes back again with the same lame excuse "We only sell fully charged batteries." Well, pretty obvious that was not my experience. The arrogance is unreal. I am not offered a discount for my inconvenience, or at the very least, a longer warranty (they offer 1 year with battery purchases). Not even an apology. I doubt they care, but I will not return to this store.

He told us it was $65 for a battery if we brought in the old battery. So, we stopped in today to make our purchase. We saw Darius & he seemed to have a better attitude. He wasn't short or rude like he was yesterday. We got the battery & he told us there's a 6 month warranty on it for 6 months. If we lose the receipt, the warranty is voided. There's no information on our receipt (ie. customer name or detailed battery information). So, I will be sure not to lose it. I recommend this place if you need a battery for the low, but that's about it.

A friend recommended Batteries Plus on Atlantic Ave, so before I ventured to the dealership and paying the premium prices they charge for everything, I decided to give them a try. They told me after examining the key fob, that the circuit board was the problem, and that it was going to malfunction and drain any battery I tried to put in. It was time to replace the key fob. Batteries Plus was able to offer me a significant savings and were able to order the fob from a nearby location, cut me a new key and reprogram it, and I was back on the road!!

Ed quickly diagnosed the issue and found the exact grommet I needed--problem solved, or so I thought. When I went to leave, my own car wouldn't start. Jumping the battery didn't work, and Ed suggested it might be a faulty starter (which turned out to be exactly right). At that point I was pretty frazzled with two cars out of commission, but Ed stayed calm, kind, and incredibly helpful. He let me leave my car overnight and even suggested options for getting home. Thanks to him, I was able to Uber home, fix my husband's car, and deal with my own car the next day (which was indeed diagnosed with a bad starter). I called the store, and that's when Ed became our hero of the night. Without hesitation, he walked across the street with a jumper and got our car running again. And he didn't stop there! We headed over to the shop, bought a new battery, and Ed even installed it for us right then and there. Ed was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind--exactly the kind of person you hope to run into when your car dies and you're stuck with your plans derailed. I can't thank him enough.
