We had a dead battery at an adjacent gas station. It was a special battery for a older model Porsche. We called this location and they not only carried the battery but when we went to purchase, they loaned us a socket set. They went the extra mile and Tom offered to carry the battery to our car and remove the dead battery and installed the new one. A employee there (5'7 and red hair) tried to scam me by stating my alternator wasn't working and trying to trick me into believing false car facts so I would go to another car shop to get a 50 dollar alternator test. I did not go through with this test but realized that my car was completely fine and running well after a family member told me that what he told me was completely wrong. read more

Where to begin! As if we landed from another planet... instead of Texas, the staff mainly Brian treated us like we were aliens. I walked in to ask for help on my car battery that had died and was jumped to start up again. We were there to make sure the battery was in good shape and able to make the trek back to Texas the next day. Brian was so uninformed as to how to test by battery but acted as if he did and told me my battery was "NO GOOD" He then proceeded to tell me he could not help me even if he did have a new battery for me because he didn't know how to change it and from then on made our whole situation his funny joke of the day. He gave me ZERO help and really was having such a great time at our expense. Very condescending and sarcastic. He actually even seemed a little high! Worst customer service at an O' Reillys I have ever come across. Thx to the knowledgeable staff at Big O down the street, they tested my battery the right way and found NOTHING wrong with my car or battery. Asst Mgr this morning was VERY helpful with tips and letting me take his wrenches out to my Jeep to see what sizes I needed. Found me some inexpensive sets and gave some tips on changing them. Fred is amazing! we are in from out of town and noticed our car was acting weird, I called and Fred said I could borrow a couple tools to find the issue. I couldn't find it, he came out and helped look and noticed a bolt had sheered off my coil packs. he gave me a couple quick fixes and pointed me in the direction of a couple shops that could still the piece out. Thursday afternoon I was in Sedona getting gas when my car started shaking and died. I immediately turned it back on to try and charge the battery and took the car to O'reilly auto parts in Sedona. I was pretty freaked out because there were forest fires on the highway and I knew I couldn't get stuck sitting in traffic in this 120 degree heat. Panicked, I walked into O'reilly auto parts and asked if they could help figure out what was wrong with my car. Brian happily came out into the heat with me and checked my battery. Turns out it wasn't the battery, my alternator had failed. I immediately panicked and didn't know what to do. Brian was super helpful and pro active and immediately checked stock on the part I needed. When his store didn't have it he called the local Cottonwood store and put a hold on it for me. He then helped me find a local shop who would install the part for me after hours and even spoke on the phone with my husband to explain what was going on. read more

We went over to O'Reilly to buy a "California Car Duster," something that we've had in other cars and we wanted one for our new Honda. The fellow in the store pointed them out and I bought it. Upon getting it home, I found that it was a very inferior quality and not really what I was looking for . . . It was a knockoff, called a "Pacific Car Duster" or some such ripoff of the big brand. So, back to the store we went, and unfortunately they would not refund it even though it was brand new, in their package. We showed them our Visa bill which clearly showed the purchase with tax, in that exact amount, from their store. But the woman at the counter said that they wouldn't take it back without the receipt. Nor would they give us a store credit. Just really, really bad customer service and we'll avoid this store in the future and just stick with Walmart. read more

i have been to this store many times with my car concerns and they have always helped me but on this particular day, i should've went to the Cottonwood store. i had a piece of small black hose that was cracked and I just needed to replace it. I explained to the guy in store and he just looked at me like i was invisible! So he puts his phone down as I led him to my car outside and I opened the hood and showed him the problem and he just stood there and looked at it. He told me that he didn't know how to go about helping me. I said "Really?" I said nevermind..I will go somewhere else. I still will continue to go to this store but not when this guy is working.. guy with all kinds of tattoos and playing on his phone as you walk in.. beware! read more
