After fixing the leaks and a few other issues that were found, I ended getting the truck back a few days later. unfortunately I was pretty disappointed in how little the technicians cared to properly secure both front wheel well liners and a unsecured catalytic converter, as well as a flashing low engine oil pressure light on my dash. I took the truck back and told consultant Morgan Hargen that my truck was not fixed, he was very quick to take the truck back and fix any issues I was having. After paying over $25,000…read morefor the truck, within 8 days, the truck was in their shop for approximately 3-4 months due to complete mechanical failure (including throttle control and fuel system components). Completely inoperable. Supposedly there was an "extensive inspection" on this truck, even though it broke down completely 8 days after I bought it, and it had to be trailed back to Kendall Ford of Eugene. While in the shop for nearly 4 months, numerous parts were replaced to include the high pressure fuel pump, the air filter, the air intake, and turbo flanges. But they never corrected the original issue and it had to be sent to multiple dealerships to even become functional again. 8 days after I bought it. Less than 2 years later, the same issue is still prevalent and worsening (electronic throttle control + DPF failure). I contacted the dealership to resolve this directly, and the only solution offered was to trade the vehicle in at a significantly reduced value (worth almost nothing, as it is once again, not functional) with no acknowledgment of the recurring issue despite numerous service records. I will never go back here for any reason. They value their dollar over you, and aren't shy about it. Even knowing I was a veteran coming off a serious car accident didn't stop them from selling me a vehicle that broke within 8 day of purchase. Do you really think they care more about you? Transmission issues resolved!…read more While driving from Seattle to Los Angeles, our 2016 Forester's Check Engine and ATL Oil Temp lights came on. After getting towed 70 miles back to Kendall Subaru, the problem was diagnosed (along with a thorough overview of some other, less critical issues) on Saturday. The tech stayed late, and came in early on Monday to get us back on the road. I rented one of Kendall's cars for use while ours was in the shop, so we got to enjoy Eugene's restaurants and nearby hiking trails. Dylan, the service writer, was clear and concise on the issue, accepted my deferral of the other issues, and kept me up to date on progress. Nice! Costs for the transmission repair came out precisely on estimate. The diagnostic cost was folded in to the overall charge. While wandering around the showroom, Matt came out, recognized that I had a car being serviced, and showed me a 2025 hybrid Forester - snazzy! Matt was patient, explained Kendall's sales process, and took me out on a test drive. Calm, professional, informative. If we were to contemplate a new car purchase, we'd seriously consider buying from Matt at Kendall, flying up, spending a nice weekend, and driving back.

I notified the clerk that the price on the tag was considerable less, to which she explained "they've had some price increases, and there use to be a sign on the door". I told her it was very deceiving, and that this was quite the price increase, and she had adjusted the price. Later I had realized that the pad wasn't the right size for my polisher, and wanted to exchange it, and get some polishing compound instead. The listed price on the Mcguires polishing compound $17.99. The gentleman who rang it up this time, rang it up for $41.62. Again I mentioned how this was considerably more that the price tag had stated, to which he had replied "We use to have a sign on the door". I asked the man "would you go grocery shopping at a store that has a sign on the door stating their prices may be considerably more than posted?", To which he was silent. Fortunately this man honored the listed price after tearing off the price tag from the shelf. I don't normally write complaints, but this seems like a very shady business practice to me. Based on the reviews we made an appointment at Oakmont to get our truck serviced. The truck has not been serviced in 14 years! Oakmont was terrific, when we picked it up we were very confident that they had gone through it with a fine toothcomb and fixed all the issues. However, they are also practical, if it wasn't needing service, they didn't fix it, so rare in these times when garages try to push a total rebuild on you. Their prices are also very fair, no gouging here! The only problem is that they are so good that it can be difficult to get an appointment, but they always try to get you in if at all possible. Feeling blessed, so great to have a good mechanic you can trust!

I own a 1949 Chevy, and like many classic car owners, I rely heavily on trusted recommendations. Skilled mechanics who truly understand vintage vehicles are rare in our area, especially since the retirement of one of the most respected classic specialists Eugene has ever had. Oakmont Service Center came recommended by a respected transmission expert, and my first interaction with Jerremy, the manager, was positive. My initial visit--radiator exchange, exhaust leak repair, and a minor carburetor adjustment--went smoothly, and meeting the two mechanics who handle classics gave me confidence in the referral. That confidence didn't last. A Breakdown and a Missed Diagnosis During a casual weekend drive, my Chevy wouldn't start after a coffee stop. After checking the usual suspects with no luck, I called Jerremy. The car was towed in, and it took two days before Eric looked at it. Because I'd had a starter issue in the past, he removed and reinstalled the starter without performing a full diagnostic. A professional approach would have been to verify the actual cause rather than rely on history. The real issue was the distributor. I chose to upgrade to an electronic module and coil. Eric removed the distributor and sent it to a shop in Cottage Grove for the upgrade. When it returned, I made it clear--in front of Eric, Jerremy, and Mike (the owner)--that if there were any questions, they should call the builder directly. No call was ever made. Critical Steps Missed The builder later informed me that Oakmont suggested they "needed to get into the engine," which was unnecessary and incorrect. The distributor had been installed improperly, and a firewall-mounted module was still running six volts--something any experienced classic mechanic would have caught immediately. The car would never have started without correcting that. To suggest engine work without completing basic diagnostic steps was a bad call. Lack of Accountability When I stopped by to speak with Mike about the missed steps, he was "too busy" to talk. Jerremy took my number, but no one followed up. When I reached out again, I was offered a $100 refund--an acknowledgment that mistakes were made, but not a meaningful resolution. I was also disappointed to walk in and see Eric working on my classic without a fender mat. That alone speaks volumes about attention to detail and respect for the vehicle. A Referral That Didn't Hold Up This referral fell short. As another reviewer, Von Sellz, pointed out--we don't all have dash cams to monitor what happens behind the shop doors. Some shops, like Joe's Garage, take thorough check-in photos and run a professional, accountable operation. They've been doing it right since 1952. Oakmont Service Center had an opportunity to live up to their reputation and the trust placed in them through referrals. Instead, they missed critical steps, failed to communicate, and didn't take ownership of their mistakes.
