This Oreillys location does not accept used oil for recycling, even though their window says they do. I have tried dropping off used oil here many times over the last couple of years and the employees always say "our tanks are full" so they don't have to help you. I've never had this experience at any other oreillys I've been to over the years. Just trying to save you from wasting your time. read more

They had what I needed. The price was reasonable. The service was fast and friendly. Only problem, none of the staff are observing the covid-19 safety procedures per California state law. this is especially troubling given that almost everyone stopping here today was from out of town stopping in for some sort of last minute or emergency parts. as a first responder, I'm especially sensitive to potentially spreading or catching covid-19 in such a public location. No hand sanitizer in the store. No signage requiring masks. read more

Went in to pick up a set of rear wipers for a rental car, and Matt was very helpful in looking up and finding the cheapest replacement blade available. They also offer to install the blades for you, though this one was a simple clip on as he described. Reasonably priced and excellent service! read more

Very helpful crew. Cody Milne helped me patch a tire in the snow after selling me the repair kit. He pulled a crooked chain link out of the tire and made sure the car was drivable. Went to the repair shop in the morning and they said Cody had it covered. No other patching needed. read more

I was traveling with my kids and 2 lively dogs from the San Diego area and had our car battery died the day before we were suppose to return home. Just thinking about the long miles ahead of us stressed me out and made me anxious thinking about any potential issues, even if we had our van jumped. I was able to get the car jumped by Cal Nevada Towing (awesome review for them), battery tested and it was recommended that I head to O'Reilly's for a battery cause they could install it. JOE, ask for JOE he is amazing! They had multiple batteries available for our Chrysler Pacifica, which was great. However, they couldn't install it cause our car had a part over the battery that needed to be removed to change the battery. Yes, although simple. The store couldn't do it. It was a Friday during the Fourth of July week, where was I going to find someone to install this so we could head home? JOE, was kind enough to call around to shops and find someone that could do install the battery, which saved me time and the search for a reliable shop. It gets better! He looked up my husband's purchase history and found that the battery had a warranty on it, so it was FREE! So what I had planned as a $$$ car repair day got better. There is more. The shop called me cause our van had 2 batteries and the other battery was dead and needed to be replace. It gets BETTER, the shop owner at Truckee Automotive called me with the news, at the start of the call my head went to $$$, time, the logistics of getting back to O'Reily's to pick up the battery and starting to think about an additional night in Truckee. But Joe and Truckee Automative are AMAZING! They were prepared with a solution, the shop called O'Reily's to find out if the additional battery was available, price and delivery to the shop. All I had to do was call JOE. I was able to pay for the additional battery over the phone and it was delivered to the shop, batteries changed, the warranted battery returned for my $280 refund, all before 2:00 p.m. I have so much gratitude for Cal-Nevada Towing, Joe at O'Reily and Truckee Automotive for taking care of me and my family. I was definitely out of my element and they all treated me with patience and didn't make me feel silly for my lack of knowledge, they could have told me in my desperation and stress that this fiasco was over $1000 and I would have went with it. I don't know how these guys do it, but for years they've had a staff that actually knows and loves cars. Their knowledge sometimes surpasses that of the local shops. This is one of the only parts stores I've ever been to, including and EAPECIALLY Napa, that's never asked me what transmission I have when I ask for blinker fluid. I've been coming here for years, they all know me by name, they know my dogs by name and are always happy to have the dogs come say hi, they always go above and beyond for me and any other customers in the store. If they don't have something, they find it. And if they can't get it, they go out of their way to find out where you can get it from. I don't think a day goes by that I don't see these guys out in the parking lot helping with windshield blades, fluids, batteries and light bulbs. Be nice to them, as part stores employees this knowledgeable and friendly are extremely rare these days, amd if you treat them with respect, they will go beyond out of their way to help you. The back room guys (delivery drivers) are super friendly as well, and often come over (I work next door to them) to say hi to the dogs or just shoot the breeze when they have a rare moment of down time Every O'Reilly location should strive to be like these guys. Not only do they set the bar incredibly high; they defy the parts store stereotype. read more

He found some cracked hoses while he was installing and walked me through what errors I might get and how to fix them if they occurred while we tried to make it home. He got me back on the road! I got stuck in Truckee this past weekend due to a cylinder misfire, which seemed to be due to a faulty spark plug or coil. I've never changed spark plugs in my life and would've much rather had a pro do it (especially since they're very hard to access on my Subaru), but this was a Saturday night and we weren't having any luck finding an emergency mechanic. I ended up pulling over at this O'Reilly and doing the job myself, but I probably would have given up and paid for a very expensive tow without the help from two of the employees here, Cody and Taylor (90% sure that was her name). I had to pop in and out of the store a bunch of times looking for the right tools to work inside a really tight space, and they patiently helped me find what I needed every time (plugs, weird socket adapters, ignition coil thingy), even when I wasn't sure what it was called. Haven't written a review in a while, but wanted to call these two out for going the extra mile. Thanks guys! read more

First of all I would like to thank Jeff, the associate working the night I visited the store. I was driving for Amazon and my international truck broke down in Donner pass. I was barely able to be make it to this store. If you are not familiar with this area it is very difficult to be in especially when it's snow and ice outside. This guy Jeff made a horrible experience for me turn into one of those moments that you say God put me here for a reason. If I would have went anywhere else at that time of night no one would have helped us like Jeff did. This is a great store do to his patience and willingness to help. My headlight burned out and I tried replacing it myself... Nope. I'm a fish out of water with this stuff. I went to O'Reilly's and the man behind the counter made sure I got the right bulb (the computer was wrong) and came outside and helped me replace the bulb. Love that they have tools you can use on the spot. Probably saved me hours trying to figure out how to get behind the battery with limited tools at home. Went in to get motor oil, it's on sale for 24.99. Went to the register,3 employees are in the back, one guy at the register and 4 people in line. I get charged 32.99 for the oil, I leave frustrated and get in my car and see the sales sign, same oil for the sales price I saw on the tag. Turns out if you add a filter the oil is $8 cheaper....and that was the signs I was reading, and the guy couldnt be bothered to mention any of it. I won't be coming here again. read more

Concern is with how I've been to this store twice within the same week and I have not seen a single employee wear a mask and some of them are working in very close proximity with customers, i.e. when changing a car battery. Great place to but accessories and parts when in need. Truckee has always suffered from the lack of corporate business because they want to keep the small town feel. I myself am happy they allowed an O'Reilly here. It's very convenient, prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. Was rollin into Truckee to eat at the pizza place that is in the same parking lot as Oreilly. As I go to use my blinker it starts acting like it is on crack and going a million times a minute. Crap, light bulb is out. So I hopped into this place. Super friendly! Got the bulb I needed. They offered assistance to help me but I gots this. Ten minutes later bulb fixed. These guys are life-savers! We had a little 'accident' with one of our windshield wipers in the middle of the storm this weekend, and basically the wiper no longer touched the windshield. We dropped in to this store hoping for a miracle and were greeted warmly. They didn't have a replacement part for the broken piece, but the gentleman helping us out dove into the back, pulled out some random metal parts and starting cutting and bending it to shape to fix our wiper. They lent us their own tools to fix the wiper in the parking lot and didn't ask for anything in return for helping us for ~30 minutes. Wonderful service, thanks again guys! read more

They tried to extort $88 for a set of windshield wipers that the napa down the street was selling for $61. Online they cost $45. They did match price but the attitude "I know they cost $45 but I'm selling them for $88 because I know you need to have them now" is just obnoxious. read more

Our motor home blew a couple cooling system parts coming up Donners Pass from Sacramento. We kept it at a friends place while we went ahead to home (Utah). I ordered a new radiator online, but for all the incidental parts I relied on O'Reilly. Normally I don't much care for the knowledge or selection of most O'Reilly stores, but this location was fantastic. Ted and Matthew in particular went out of their way to really help me figure some "redneck fixes" to accommodate a slightly not stock radiator. I'll be very appreciative of their help every time I think back on this ordeal, as long as I live. Great job guys, I'll even be giving the O'Reilly store I don't like at home another go because of y'all! read more

I'm writing this review to express my sincere gratitude for the help we received this last weekend! We purchased correctly sized chains here but found it impossible to make them fit our tires tightly enough (even with bungee cords, they kept smacking the sides of the wheel wells). After trying for an hour in the freezing cold, we had to head back to town again through traffic and arrived shortly after the store had closed... A man whom I assume was the manager happened to still be outside; he actually reopened the building for us and exchanged our chains for a different model, despite the fact that his shift was long over and the chains were covered in snow and mud at that point. I was too exhausted and stressed to say much beyond repeating "thank you" at the time, but what I really wanted to say is this: we wouldn't have made it home without your kindness, which was _truly_ selfless as you had nothing to gain by helping us. Wherever you are, I hope you're having a lovely holiday- you deserve it! :) read more
