He agreed to come first thing in the morning. The next day he showed up around 8 a.m. He took a look and said he needed to get replacement parts, he would come back later. Needless to say we were in Bellingham when it happened. We were given Ray's name by another plumber who lived in Burnaby and who was not keen to take on this job in Richmond. Ray came over to see me at 10PM on Tuesday evening (I heard about the bad new from my gardener Tuesday around 1PM). Wednesday morning Ray temporarily restored our water supply by borrowing our good hearted neighbor's water supply (with her permission of course), all that he needed to do was hook together our garden water hose outlets. That allowed us to stay in our home, saved us a bunch of money in hotel charges. Ray gave us a reasonable estimate and immediately started work on Wednesday, by tunneling the new water line under a 6 feet section of concrete aggregate, he saved us the expense of cutting and rebuilding that section of concrete, by Saturday afternoon he managed to completely restore our water supply. We now have an all new "indestructible" water line into the Richmond house. While the house is not all that old, the buried water lines in the area we live in are much older than the house itself and are prone to bursting as they continue to age over time. Ray is the best, he worked hard and he worked smart, I don't believe we could have found a better man for the job regardless of price.
