This is a great business. We took our very tired 1991 Sea Ray there to do some major fiberglass work (stringer replacement). Ryan did an initial inspection and quickly told us that the repairs would cost more than the boat was worth, and recommended selling it and buying a new boat. We took our boat into O'Ryan marine in June, dropped off after hours. We did not receive a phone call about our boat for weeks. I called but received nothing but voicemail. Finally we received a call basically stating that they didn't know why our boat was there. I explained that I had a conversation with the owner about the trouble we were having. A very long story but in short, they had our boat until August. Stated they did and tried many things to get it going, replaced, repaired, swapped out parts etc. Nothing worked. We picked up our boat in exactly the same condition as when we dropped it off. Only with an lovely invoice for over 1000.00. When I took the boat in to another mechanic, they stated that the parts that were "replaced" were original parts. None of them had been replaced. I know that mechanics say these things to make themselves look better, but they showed us the parts! They were original, old and very dirty. SO not sure exactly what O'Ryan Marine did to my boat. This shop was referred to us by an ex-coworker, so very sorry I ever asked. Ryan O'Neal actually reduced the invoice because I complained so much, but it was still extremely high and absolutely not worth it. To have the boat that long and not communicate, I had to call and call just to get an update. I tell every boat owner I know to steer clear of this place. read more

My family purchased a brand-new sea doo recently and the first day we had it out on the water it broke! I was extremely disappointed, called around many places only to be told that it would be several weeks before someone could take a look at it. I will NEVER use these use these guys again for detailing a boat. I have always done my own annual detailing, but thought I'd give myself a treat and have someone else do it. I selected O'Ryan for the job, even though they were one of the most expensive. I did NOT get what I paid for! They did a reasonable job of polishing up the gelcoat, but nothing else. The upholstery was wiped down but not cleaned. The trailer wasn't touched after they told me it would be (and touted that as one of the reasons for their higher price), there was still dirt in the corners and polishing grit everywhere. They said they don't do ski locker or engine bay cleaning because of "environmental" issues, but never mentioned that beforehand. I took it back to them twice and to their credit, they worked on some of the things I pointed out (and made excuses for the rest) and in the end, I got a mediocre job at best, certainly not what you'd expect for $700+. What was more upsetting is that they got all testy when I called them out for the poor job and showed them what they'd missed. I've never seen a guy try so hard to make excuses to cover his behind when the evidence was right in front of him. Definitely wasn't trying to satisfy a customer. read more

I had our boat in for a trailer "inspection" soon after we purchased it. O'Ryan assured me everything was just great. After having my trusted auto mechanic look at it on a whim, I'm fairly confident O'Ryan did nothing in their inspection. My auto mechanic quickly saw lots of corrosion in the hubs and we've had them replaced. Our boat needed some electrical work also at the time, so O'Ryan did the work. Spent over $700 and nothing worked as promised. I hired another marine electrical guy do all the work, at half the cost. The new guy not only found several "hot" wires, but quickly diagnosed the issues and fixed everything in 3 hours. Also cleaned up the mess O'Ryan made. I don't like to write bad reviews, but in this case, I don't want others to go through the expensive mistake I made. Nice people, but very sub-par work. read more

Just had O'Ryan come out and sevice our boat lift. He had two very nice guys with 20 years of experience come out and they correctly diagnosed the problem, fitted what they could and then said they would come back with a part next week and finish up. This was the second person to come out. The first one from another company associated with the lift, missed the problem, recommended replacing the wrong part, and didn't even get into the water to see what really was going on. We have been using O'Ryan Marine for our boat winterization, oil changes and engine repair since 2001 and the prices have always been reasonable. Last Spring we hit a deadhead and had to replace our engine, drive, shaft and prop. O'Ryan Marine took the hassle out of the insurance claim process by working directly with the claims adjuster and insurance company. My insurance repairs were approved in 3 weeks and the boat was repaired in a couple of weeks, so I didn't lose the summer boating season. Before finding O'Ryan we tried another repair shop, which kept our boat for 2 weeks and then told us they didn't work on Johnson engines. This happen in July and we were furious. O'ryan marine has certified mechanics who work on all boat engines. We are happy to find a reputable boat repair on the Eastside. read more

Ryan, owner of O'Ryan Marine, gave us amazing customer service! Our boat broke down on a trip to Lake Chelan last month. Our normal boat repair place near our home was booked out a long ways, so I called O'Ryan Marine to see if they could fit us into their schedule. Ryan allowed us to drop off our boat and squeezed it into his very full schedule since we had my parents coming from out of town and were hoping for a quick repair. He ran several tests on our boat but ended up needing to order a cord to connect his computer to our boat's diagnostic equipment, so he couldn't fix our boat right away. He made such a big effort to help us, and also had really great communication with me. AND since he wasn't able to fix the boat yet, he wouldn't let me pay him anything for his time trying to diagnose it. He says he's been in business for 26 years (I think that's the number he said), and he doesn't charge people until he fixes their boat. Ryan is so nice, professional and seems to really care about giving good customer service. This time we will likely get our boat fixed at the place we usually go to, since it's close to our home, and they have the diagnostic computer cord now, but we would definitely go back to O'Ryan Marine.
