Had a trip to go duck hunting and realized there was some maintenance on my motor that needed to be done so I didn't get stuck as I don't have a kicker. They were in the middle of winterizing season but accommodated my short notice and the motor fired up on the first pull and was running as good as it ever has (22 year old motor)! read more

My experience with I90 Marine Center and specifically Casey the owner was the worst it could have been. There was nothing about my experience that would cause me to ever bring my business there again. In fact it was so bad, I'll personally make sure nobody I know ever goes there. I went to I90 in early March 2015 to repower my Grady White. I chose them because they were the closest Suzuki dealer to my house. I purchased a 300 HP and 9.9HP plus steering and rigging. I chose to wait to write a review so some of the bad taste could potentially go away over time and I would not be making a snap decision on my overall experience. Unfortunately the exact opposite has happened. Over time I've become more and more unhappy with the work done. Every time I open something up or look somewhere on my boat I continually find terrible workmanship and cut corners. Here is a list of the reasons I feel this way. I would give them a zero out of 5 starts if possible. - Incorrect trolling motor ordered and installed when I very specifically advised what I want, and what my boat required to work properly. For some reason a 20" was ordered when a 25" is needed. The engine was installed and at a very quick glance I could tell it was totally wrong and unusable because the prop barely touched the water line. - Fuel tank leaking when I picked up the boat the first time. Literally fuel was flowing out of the tank and into the bilge. There was approximately 1 inch of fuel in the bilge when I picked up the boat. Clearly nobody did an inspection of the boat prior to releasing it to me to take home. - Incorrect steering ordered and installed. Clearly Casey did no research on what helm pump is required for a Suzuki 300. A 1500 PSI pump is required but a 1000 PSI pump was installed. - Steering leaking fluid when I picked up the boat the first time. Again, nobody looked over the boat when it was ready for pickup. Terrible work was done and Casey the owner, manager, and primary technician doing the work felt it was sufficient to let that go out the door. Definitely a sign of someone who is ignorant, inexperienced, and incapable. - The floor panels were not sealed in any way after being removed. Both panels had to come out in order to run wires and rig the motors. When they were put back in large gaps in the floor were present allowing a significant amount of water to flow off the deck and into the bilge, not into the scuppers as it should. - Zinc hardware and fasteners were used to install the trolling motor bracket instead of stainless steel. This is absolutely unacceptable and amateur. No boat mechanic ever should use zinc, especially on a boat that obviously is going to live a lot of its life in the salt. That is just terrible and a complete display of carelessness. - On several occasions I was given a timeline of when certain things would be completed. None of these were met. In the end my boat sat on their lot for 51 days. Keep in mind I dropped the boat off in late winter in an effort to avoid the busy spring rush. There were no other priorities for the shop when I dropped it off. Often times I would drop by for a progress update and the boat would have been sitting in the same spot, no work completed while Casey was in the office with his feet on the desk doing nothing. The excuse I was given usually was "we're waiting for parts". This made no sense to me as there was a large amount of work to be done that didn't require parts. Also, he had to order parts 4 different times. This definitely shows a lack up organization skills and a totally misunderstanding of how to manage the front of the house in a business. - I had my downrigger mounts installed by I90 since the boat was there and I figured it would be an easy install for them. I specifically asked for the mounts to be back plated with stainless hardware. Neither of my requests were met. Low grade hardware was used and they were not back plated. - On the transom there were holes drilled which were not filled in with sealer. Also, existing holes where the old swim step was removed were not filled in so when I picked up the boat there was exposed wood. - In multiple places, specifically under the dash where the main wiring harness and the fuse box are there are missing bolts and nuts. For example, the trolling switch was missing a screw, the CPU mount was missing a screw, and the starter button screw was drilled through the dash in a location which causes it to interfere with the switches and wires behind it. This may seem minor but it's a clear indication that the work was rushed through, not reviewed prior to completion and overall terrible quality. If this was a slap together job in someone's back yard maybe I could overlook the details but this was a $30K job. In closing, I believe I've made my point. I90 Marine Center is a terrible shop. The employees are lacking organization and attention to detail. I would advise to never take your business there. read more

I recently had I90 Marine perform a number of services on my boat, including winterization, filter replacement, & carb rebuild. I appreciated how Casey adjusted the price when he saw I wasn't making most of visits (for example applying half hour credit toward dewinterization service after I had paid for some of those services). After the recent carb rebuild, I appreciated how Casey went beyond and also swapped out the plugs to optimize boat performance. My boat hasn't ran this good in years. I've also found them to be accommodating with schedule and having the boat ready for important vacations. Gotta appreciate that. And lastly, I like how their employees generally offer advice for taking better care of your boat and try to save you a few bucks. I've had some pretty bad experiences with other marine mechanics in the area - especially their fees and lacking service. I'll be sticking with I90 Marine for a while. read more

I was a little hesitant to come here given the previous reviews, but my phone call with Casey convinced me to give them a try. Communication has been easy and timely, they take the time to explain their work, and things came in under estimate (seriously, when does that happen with boats?). The boat ran well when they were done with it. Update 4/21/17: After having the boat in the water a few times after the last visit, there are some fairly obvious things that should have been noticed in the inspection. Some electrical systems needed work, the belts quickly loosened, etc. All were within my mechanical skill level so I just addressed them, but it did shake my confidence in the thoroughness of the shop. I'll be trying a new mechanic this season. When I had some issues with the outdrive paint they'd done, they quickly remedied it, so I assume if I'd asked for them to address my concerns they would have, I just chose to go in a different direction. read more

I just brought my boat in to be de-winterized. As the owner handed me the estimate, I noticed the maximum estimate was over $500. It included a tuneup for over $350. I asked why would I need a tuneup when I had to replace my motor just last summer with a new crate motor (at the cost of over $7000) because of a cracked intake manifold. The owner, Steve, said oh, well we probably won't need to do that but I'd like to at least replace the sparkplugs and fuel filter. When I picked up my boat today, I was charged $300 for a tuneup. When I asked about this charge, he said - well, if you didn't want a tuneup you should have said so. What ??? What a bait and switch outfit. This is a total rip-off joint. I was apprehensive about taking my boat in to I 90 marine. I had friends in town this summer and was not able to get my boat working. I called around and I 90 was able work on my boat. I was happy to get my boat in. I picked my boat up at 10 pm that evening from the owner Steve who personally worked late in the evening to get me up and running for the following morning. I was so thankful that he understood my situation and personally help me out at the last minute embarrassment. Should had made sure boat was working. The bill was more than fair. Being a major procrastinator I had to rush and get boat winterized. I 90 was able get me in and took care of me. I have had good results. read more

Casey is awesome. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He hooked up the computer to the outboard and provided me with the total history of the outboard. That was great info to have. I had my annual maintenance done which included compression test, spark plug change, oil change, impeller change, lower unit service, lubrication. I dropped off the boat in the morning and was able to pick it up the next day around noon. The engine runs like a champ. Because I did this in Feb, I got a special discounted rate. I was referred to 1-90 marine in issaquah from another company, so I thought this place was going to be great. However, I didn't feel that way when I left. I took it in to get an oil change, replace the shifter cables, and replace the tach. Casey said it would only take one day, but it ended up taking a week. He never called to inform me on what's going on, so I had to call two times to see what's going on. When I went to pick up the boat I asked about the tach which I had already reminded him twice in the previous calls, and he said he forgot about it and would ordered it, and it will be there in two days. When I called two days later he said he forgot to order it. I wasn't pleased how long it took, and especially how of a sloppy job they did. The boat has grease marks and foot prints on many places inside the boat, and the shifter cable wasn't drill back in place, and a towel was left when they changed the oil. Overall Casey was very nice, but very unprofessional. read more

Great service..always on time and on budget...I took my boat in for my end of the year winterizing and they took the time to review all of my service records for the last 3- 4 years to make sure that I got exactly what I needed so i am ready for next spring.
