We always enjoy a good meal when we come here. I like a Pub atmosphere that allows kids. This time we came on a Sunday for lunch before heading back home. Wasn't too busy on this day, just a handful of customers. Water who also doubled as the host was great. Came and took our drink orders right away. I ordered the O'Sheas burger. Perfect. My wife had the Jambalaya - definitely not award winning despite what the menu said. The kids shared a shepherd's pie which was on special this day. They really enjoyed it. Service: I ordered take out, no service was really needed. They forgot to add the dressing to my order so I got back to my hotel and had to eat a dry salad. Atmosphere: From what I can see, it was a typical put style atmosphere. Taste / Value for Money: I ordered the Mediterranean steak salad but substituted the steak for salmon. The salad tasted alright but I wish there were other types of greens besides romaine lettuce. The salmon didn't have much flavour but it was nicely grilled. The salad came with a grilled tomato which tasted a little frozen but with grill marks on one side.... Pretty mediocre salad for $17 I would say. Sheesh, this place has gone down hill in the last year. We stood at the door waiting for a server to notice us for a while. Got a seat looked at the menu for a bit and the server was slow between ordering drinks and then food. I got the beef dip, it was nice but not as much meat on it as I expected. The side salad was not good. The lettuce was in pretty rough shape. My husband ordered fish and chips and was asked about the side so he said salad thinking it was in addition to the chips not instead of. Who has battered fish with a salad? The fish was also burnt. The food was good, particularly the blackened mango chicken and burgers. Drinks are reasonably priced, and often there's specials on for cocktails. Service wasn't overtly positive; it was fairly quiet when we were there, but still our served took a long time to come to our table and look after us. I was disappointed by the Irish coffee being served without whipped cream, so that any alcohol would evaporate rather than be trapped under the cream, but other than that I found the place was more than adequate for our needs as we were staying next door at the Ramada hotel. Note: we were on the restaurant side of this place. 1. It's not an Irish pub, even though it sort of looks to be one from the outside. (To be fair, it doesn't really advertise itself as one.) 2. For an establishment that has a pub side and carries an Irish name, I did rather expect a better beer selection. They didn't have much and they were out of at least two that I asked about. I also expected the server to actually KNOW something about the small selection of beers they did carry. She knew nothing about the beers - which she did admit, but....how do you succeed in a job where you don't know about the products the company sells?? 3. Food was fine. Not terrible and not memorable. We went there because we wanted to eat someplace local and not a chain, but maybe next time I'm in Drumheller I'll just go to Boston Pizza. I was surprised not much was open in Drumheller on a Sunday of a long weekend. The town was hopping and the museum packed, alas our lunch choices with small children was limited so we went to O'sheas. While the staff were friendly enough they were painful to watch and deal with. I was greeted quickly but was left there while the staff... well I am not sure what they were doing. The people trying to pay lined up, the people wanting a table grew and the tables were empty and messy and the servers were sort of no where. A dedicated hostess/cashier and a busser is needed on weekends in this place. But that will just help the service and not the food. My husband had full fish and chips, I had beef dip with Caesar salad and the kids had haddock bites and mini hot dogs both with fries. Portions were fine but maybe on the small side compared to big portions people tend to want or maybe it seemed smaller since she spilled about 1/4 of the fries on the floor when she put down the plates once it finally came. We were never offered refills and had to ask for condiments. When we had had enough of our cold deep fried food we joined the long wait in trying to pay our bill. Next time we chine to Dino Town we will pack a picnic. read more

First and foremost my wife and I loved our food. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was also open on sunday . We had the Shepard's Pie yorkies to start which were delicious. This place is pretty terrible. Like imagine all pre frozen appetizer food put in a deep fryer way too long served with wilted lettuce and partially rotten lemon. That's this place. I wish it was better, the decor is awesome, they have pool tables which is fun while you're waiting for food. The waitress acted like she did not like being there either which is how I felt. It takes minimal effort for some proper kitchen prep and fresh garnish. Next time maybe McDonald's would be an upgrade to food quality. read more

This won't reflect regular service, but rather their special buffet. Was in town for tough mudder and they had a buffet set up for the event, so we figured it would be a good option. The service was quick, with the waitress bringing our drinks right away. However, the buffet was SO disappointing. The options were pasta with sauce, pulled pork, and chicken patties, along with a potato soup. I tried the pasta with sauce (cold and bland) the potato soup (bland) and the pulled pork on a roll (pulled pork was good, but the roll was soggy). The chicken patties did not look appetizing at all, so I didn't even touch those. Was it filling? Yes, I guess so. Was it tasty? I would not say that. The one redeeming factor of the meal was the dessert we ordered. After the disappointing meal, we wanted to treat ourselves. I got the chocolate torte and my friend got the bread pudding, and they were both actually quite tasty! Very rich, and worth ordering. I was sad that they only had the buffet available, because the dinner menu actually sounded like it had some good stuff on it. Excellent food! Nice atmosphere and a fine selection of imported beers. I've been here a few times in my travels to Drumheller and I will almost always get the Cheesesteak Boxty. Oh man is that a delicious meal. I do remember one time that I strayed from that and got the Guinness Stew though. That was absolutely delicious and left me strongly conflicted every time I went back to O'Shea's! Went there for a family dinner (we have 2 young boys). This place is definitely kid friendly. The staff were very pleasant and the pricing was average. The food was very ordinary but loved their cocktail selection. Not really my first choice for a place to eat but it is 20 steps from the hotel we were staying at so that was a huge bonus. read more

The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is that the person who served our group was exceptional and could not have asked for better service, even though the drinks were overpriced. However I ordered the Mac and cheese with brisket and It was the worst food I think I have received at a restaurant to this day. The mac and cheese it's self had less flavour and cheese than an ordinary box of Kraft Dinner. I feel bad even bringing Kraft dinner this far down in comparison. The brisket was offered on multiple dishes; the tacos, the nachos, a brisket sandwich, and of course the Mac and Cheese. After seeing this I assumed the brisket was going to be a true Texas barbecue style cooked brisket. Instead I was left when a chewy, flavourless, fatty, overcooked piece of meat which was obviously just thrown into the also flavourless Mac and cheese and I was just left with an overall disappointing dish. I could have pan fried a sliced up portion of outside round roast and had it be more flavourful and tendor than the "brisket" I received. In my opinion between my menu option and others at my table with a variety of dishes, I would not recommend dining at this establishment. However if you are looking for a quick patio drink, and want to see a cool Irish pub interior, I would add this place to a quick visit pub crawl... read more

First impressions of this restaurant were good. My family loved the atmosphere and that the menu offered more than just pub food. The food had varying reviews. Two people in our party had the shepherd's pie. One of them really didn't like how spicy (peppery) it was while the other didn't mind. Also, the banger's and mash wasn't impressive. They said the sausage tasted like the breakfast kind. On the other hand the bacon scalloped carbonara and the honey lime salmon were both excellent. The service was friendly and attentive although we did have to remind the waiter a couple times of missing drinks. Overall, we were all more or less happy with the experience. read more

Went for dinner despite the poor reviews because of close proximity to our hotel. We were quickly seated and our waitress was friendly and helpful. We had bruschetta and edamame for our appetizers. Plenty of edamame were served. Bruschetta was ok, bread pretty mediocre. For dinner, Guinness beef stew, bangers and mash, and some other dish with tortilla soup as the side. Sorry I forget the name of the dish, sliced beef/gravy folded inside a potato pancake. More like a crepe. The soup was pronounced to be excellent. The portion of the dish was generous. Stew was really good, and plenty of it. Waitress said it is made in house. Bangers were fine but mashed potatoes and veggies arrived barely warm, and without the requested gravy on the potatoes. We didn't point this out until time to pay. Corrected bill without problem. Service started well but went downhill. Requested coffee refill was forgotten. We had lunch here on a (supposedly extremely busy) Sunday. Many tables were empty, but had not been cleaned yet. So we had to wait to be seated. Service was friendly, bur very slow. The place seemed understaffed, waitresses were literally running to keep guests happy. Food was ok, we had a kids' hot dog, poutine and a taco salad. Bad Bad Service! Stayed at the Ramada with our Family yesterday and this restaurant is practically two steps out the door so we went there for lunch. Stood fully visible in the doorway while servers walked past us without seating or even acknowledging us. I have spent years in the service industry this I do not have unreasonable expectations. After ten minutes we just left and walked to Boston Pizza. We tried again for dinner and the same thing happened. Unbelievable! I highly recommend you don't waste your time. I went to this place today for lunch. What a huge mistake! The service was horrible. Took a while for anyone to take our order probably a good 10 minutes. Then both my wife and I asked for water to drink, our boys asked for milk and apple juice. All the drinks came out 5 minutes later. Then we ordered. The food did not take to long to come out - so at least the kitchen was quick, but the food portions where small. Who has ever heard of fish and chips without coleslaw? My wife got a french dip that I think she took two bites of then it was done. After we finished eating we sat for another 10 minutes until the waitress checked in. I asked for the bill that took another 5 minutes to come out, at that point I asked if the kids where going to get the free desert clearly advertised on their door. I then was told I needed to pay at the door. On the way out I asked for the manager - a squirrelly little man - that I relayed my experience to. He stated he was sorry - but never offered any sort of compensation for wasting a portion of my life, held hostage in his crummy restaurant. I would advise steering clear of this hole. read more

Yikes....what happened....we were there last year after the passion play, and it was packed, so I understand the long wait. The food was great, the staff were good, for the amount of people they had to serve. This year after the play, we came back, (july 24 2016) and brought some friends so they could try the food. This time there was still lots of room inside. but it was still over an hour before our food was brought out. Tables were not cleared. and waitresses were saying that the patrons were moving around and confusing them. That was not the case. we met 4 other groups that had a crazy wait also. When our appetizer finally came we had extra food that we did not order. Then the meals started to come and my meal was no where to be seen. Some excuse about the paper running out! Had to share my wife's meal with her. The food was great but definitely not enough qualified service staff. There was no offer to even rush my order to make up for the error. What a lousy night and even worse, the service, for not only us four. but the other groups who commented on this night mare as well. Stopped by with my big extended family on our way to Royal Tyrell Museum on a holiday weekend. Our server was FANTASTIC, even taking the time to ask my 2.5yr old what she wanted to eat and listening - my kiddo was beaming. Her recommendations were spot on and the food was fabulous. We ordered both queso dip and nachos for appetizers and had none of the issues others did. Our entrees were our quickly and all of our special requests (hot sauce, tarter sauce, etc) were happily attended to... glasses stayed more than half full and management was helping servers (a sign of good managers!) as needed. I don't know what others are talking about - our visit was great! Food/drinks reasonably priced, great service, and good atmosphere. I highly recommend checking it out! read more

This was the second time my husband and I ate here in the last three weeks. We are camping so a night out us something we looked forward too. The first time was so, so. We gave it another try. Shouldn't have done that!! My husband ordered "bangers and mash". The sausages were like sawdust and the potatoes were dried up and no gravy or sauce came with it. The server was gracious and replaced his order with with a plain hamburger he ordered. When the bill came he was charged with both orders. Not impressed!!! Won't see us again!! Both nights the restaurant had plenty of empty tables and a lengthy lineup in the tiny vestibule.
