Was craving sushi but my go-to conveyor belt sushi restaurant was closed for an event. Looked on Yelp to see what other places I could try. Decided on O'sushi. When we got there, there were no customers inside. They sat us down quickly and asked us what we would like to drink. Gave us small cups of water saying their big cups were all dirty. As soon as as got our water, 2 more customers came in and sat near by. They were given large cups of water after the server said they were all dirty. Didn't really mind having small cups, just thought it was weird she would say that when the stacks of cups were in view of customers. The waiter then took our orders. When our food came, some of the rolls did not look fresh and looked and tasted like it had been sitting on the conveyor belt for hours and was just microwaved. The some other rolls looked like they were a little more fresh. When the server brought our rolls to us, she said she didn't know which was which and said that the chef was too busy to tell her. I used to come to this place quite often and usually liked the taste of the sushi here. I was a fan of this place until one day, when I bit into one of the rolls, there was a slightly sour taste to it, and then not long after I started to get some food poisoning in my stomach. I had sushi that week quite a few times at different restaurants, so not blaming O-Sushi, but still suspicious. I would only go for the fried Takoyaki now. read more

Let me just tell you right now that sushi that rides a conveyor belt is not fresh sushi and you know that it is made with very cheap ingredients because they are selling it for a 1.75 a plate so that being said three stars is actually a very high rating for a conveyor belt sushi place and I give it three only because the owner and the service is really nice, they let me sit and watch movies for long braids of time and just chill and have a soda after my lunch when I have nothing else to do but I would never take someone to a place like this for dinner it is strictly a lunch joint in my opinion, so don't you dare set up a date with a girl who likes sushi and take her here for dinner. I went here for the first time today and let me say i was completely impressed. I started off with a California roll topped with salmon, shrimp & avocado it was great definitely better than most California rolls i have had in the past. My second plate was a shrimp tempura roll it had a combination of teriyaki and the house sauce which was a pretty good combo. My third roll and my favorite was a shrimp tempura roll topped with avocado, sweet and sour sauce & peanuts this was a very sweet roll very good the best roll i had today. And my last and final roll was something that i had no idea what it was and it looked good so i tried it but i wasn't that pleased, it was a darker looking fish with something that i think was cream cheese? I did not like the flavor but then again I'm not gonna like everything. I ate this with ginger, wasabi and soy sauce on the side which makes a huge difference. I ended up liking 3 of the 4 plates i got which is pretty good considering i tried sushi i had never tried before. All the food was fresh and the cook was putting out fresh rolls every 2-3 minutes. Waitress / Greeter was very friendly. Soda only includes one refill but that was more then enough. Would recommend this to someone trying sushi for the first time or someone who wants a quick bite to eat downtown! read more

Husband and I went back there and it was like 4 hours before their closing time. The staff lady (big and squint eye) was rude to us. As we walk in and ask if they're still open she said yes but she was putting away the chairs, the sauce and not facing us while talking. I usually go there during the lunch hour and today the bar was full, but there was 3 clean tables. The waitress refused to set us at the clean tables and requested that we wait for someone at the bar to leave or wait for a couple at one of the tables to leave. This is my favorite sushi place of all time. The staff are nice, there's almost always space on the belt to sit, there is a wide variety of choices, they don't charge for refills on pop, I've never had a lukewarm or unpleasant dish (well I did but that was my own fault) their prices are great, they get to special orders quickly, the belt is always well-stocked, and the atmosphere is great. I would recommend this place to everyone, even people who don't like sushi because this place will make you love sushi read more

It annoys me to give this place such a low review as I am a regular at their location up in Portland on 82nd, and I always leave there satisfied and eager to come back. So this place? I left within 10 minutes. I got there at 8pm to meet up with some friends. After being seated by the only server, Evett, I made an order of baked mussels. She apologized and told me it would take at least 15 minutes as they didn't have a sushi chef right now... Hesitant at my first impression of them, I said okay. I then let my friends know, and we decided to change locations and meet somewhere else to eat. Went to tell the server to cancel my order and she went to let her manager?/owner? know. The manager came over, latex gloves on and looking like she just woke up, to tell me I can't do that as she just put them in, and that I'll have to pay for it. Uhh what? I was just told you didn't have a chef and now you're telling me it's already cooking? She then added that it's not like they can just put it on the belt as they're about to close. It's 8pm, how is that even close to closing? I asked my server about this later and she said they usually close early. That is something you should really tell your customers or post somewhere. Or maybe, you know, just follow your own posted hours. I ended up paying anyways as fighting over a couple of dollars wasn't worth my time. This is actually a 1-star review as the way I was treated was horrible. The extra star is for my server, Evett, who I felt didn't have any control over the matter but still tried her best to serve her customers well. In the end, I guess it is for the better. I only had to pay $3 (tea and baked mussels) to realize I will never want to come here or bring anyone here ever again, so money well spent. I'll be sticking to their other, much better, location in Portland. read more

I wouldn't say that their food is super high quality, but for a track, the food is fresh and warm (when appropriate), and doesn't taste like it's been sitting out for too long. Not a bad place for lunch. Prices are reasonable. The portion sizes are nice. Not a huge selection of fresh fish items at lunch. My 6 year old LOVED it. Great place! Right around the corner from work, and can get in and out in my 30 minute lunch break with plenty of time to spare! The staff are extremely nice, one in particular is always so very welcoming, and recognizes me right away. I wish I had her name! The sushi is great. The only downfall, and the reason I give it 4 stars is because the variety. I've been there a lot, and I have seen it on busy days and slow days. No matter what, the variety isn't there. And a lot of them are heavily covered in sauce, so it's hard to tell what's what. I've had a couple plates I didn't care for. I just wish there was more to choose from. Anyway, love the place! Staff! Makes me sad to see such a place fall so far. I used to like the place - the food was good and the people friendly. But it seems as if ever since they hired some new staff things have been terrible. The new people aren't nearly as attentive as you would like. Tonight I was craving sushi after work and after venturing to find a parking space, managed to get in. It was crowded, But no overly so, so I didn't think it would be a problem. So it's your typical conveyor belt sushi. The place is clean, the staff is very friendly, and the food is fresh. The selection is typical. They could have more variety (ie. ahi tower) ,but they do hit all the basics. One thing that I did like was that EVERYTHING was $1.75 a plate and for that price I love it! Overall the sushi places in Salem are kinda meh anyways, and I hate leaving a restaurant feeling like I over paid for the food. I love this place, defiantly the best sushi restaurant in town, and I am a big fan of Momiji. The place is clean, never too crowded, friendly and attentive staff, fresh and a variety of sushi. My friends and I always come in super hungry because the best part is there is no ordering, unless you want to of course. After being a loyal customer and spending hundreds of dollars I will no longer go back! The owners are rude. They serve Chinese brown tea not Japanese green tea. If you bring your own green bags and ask hot water they won't serve you even if you tell them that you will pay the full price of a beverage. Our waitress was very apologetic and told us that they have a hard time keeping employees. The food quality is decent considering the price. However, don't ask for anything extra or different as the answer will always be NO. We recommend you go around the corner to Rice Time. It's more expensive but it's worth it. read more

HORRIBLE service! Literally never been treated so bad in my life at a customer service job. My friend did not like her calimari and she ask nicely if it could be taken off because she didn't eat it at all and they simply said "NO sorry. Thats not real reason to take something off. If there isn't anything wrong with it then we won't do anything about it". Then when my friend said she won't ever come back she simply said "thats ok, you don't have to come back". Needless to say we left no tip. Also, we called to ask for the manager after we left and the girl said "I'm SORRY your so upset about the calimari.." Anyway, worst customer service ever. read more

When she (waitress) told us to move out of the way and wait we were a little miffed. The place wasn't even half full. When we waited for 5 minutes and asked if we could just start eating, she yelled across the room to go sit at a table. We did. As soon as we sat down she came over and told is to move. We reminded her that we had two more people coming. She said we couldn't eat there if we didn't have all four people. So I asked her, "sooooo, you're telling me that I can't eat your food and pay you money while we wait for our friends that will also eat your food and pay you money?" She said no. Discovered this place while visiting Salem. Very cool revolving sushi joint! This place has a nice vibe with a modern/contemporary décor with house music playing. It was clean and spacious. I went to O'Sushi today for the first time. There was only one more customer in there when we arrived. We were greeted right away and then were told that the waitress would be right along to show us to our seats (no wait to be seated sign and all but one seat open, we handled it ourselves). I have to assume that the waitress was new since it took her a couple times to get the two things I ordered written down. When the strawberry mochi I ordered was brought to me, it had brown bits on it where it was cut in half. It looked like a bunch of dirt. I asked what it was and she said, "oh, it's probably from the chocolate mochi I cut earlier." I told her that she is supposed to wash the knife in between uses and that I wasn't eating it. I got a new one for free, after I watched her wash the knife. The woman that first greeted us sat right beside us and started eating her lunch (apparently they don't have a break room or know how to give customers some privacy) and was on her phone talking loudly too. Whatever she ate smelled so bad that I couldn't finish my own food. My wife was pissed by that point so we left. When the people are better trained, the restaurant will get a better rating. read more
