Several weeks later, while traveling internationally, I began feeling extremely sick and developed worsening symptoms. Antibiotics were recommended/called in, but my condition rapidly escalated. I was ultimately diagnosed overseas with an MSSA staph infection that progressed to sepsis, requiring emergency hospitalization in Nice, France. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a documented fever of approximately 105 degrees and severe vomiting, and I ultimately underwent emergency explant surgery. I had drain placed and remained hospitalized in France for almost a while recovering. This was one of the most traumatic and frightening experiences of my life. Being seriously ill in a foreign country where I did not speak the language made the situation even more terrifying and isolating. In addition to the emotional and physical trauma, this situation also created significant financial consequences for me, including the original surgery costs, emergency ambulance transport, hospitalization and medical care in France, canceled travel plans, changed flights, and the loss of the European trip I had planned. recovery after this was extremely difficult, and I continued to seek medical care for ongoing symptoms and concerns after returning home. I understand that complications can happen with any surgery. However, based on my personal experience, I was deeply disappointed by the communication, bedside manner, follow-up, and level of support I felt I received during and after this medical crisis. In my opinion, the response did not feel as urgent or supportive as I would have expected given the severity of what I was experiencing. Separate from the medical emergency itself, I was also ultimately unhappy with my cosmetic results. I underwent a revision procedure and I paid additional costs for internal pocket revision work intended to improve implant positioning and symmetry. Despite this, I personally felt the final result appeared uneven, including noticeable asymmetry between my breasts. When I raised concerns, I personally did not feel that my concerns were meaningfully addressed or that I was offered a satisfactory path forward. Given both the aesthetic outcome and the severe medical complications that followed, this entire experience was incredibly disappointing and traumatic for me overall. This review reflects solely my personal experience and opinion as a patient.

Dr. Honrado had no obligation to see me, his schedule was full, I wasn't an established patient, and I wasn't seeking cosmetic services. But he took me in anyway, simply because he was genuinely concerned for my well-being. That single act of kindness set the tone for everything that followed and speaks volumes about his character. To make a VERY long story short, I developed what is believed to have been a biofilm infection triggered by dental work that didn't go as planned. The infection ultimately attacked filler I had received about six months prior (not performed by Dr. Honrado). I was in really bad shape - I'll spare you the photos. I honestly don't know what I would have done without Dr. H and his incredible staff, especially Madison! Without question, should I ever pursue any future cosmetic procedures, Dr. Honrado is the only person I would trust. I am profoundly grateful for his expertise, and even more so, for his humanity.

I had many choices for such a routine hernia repair surgery, but chose to go with Dr. Moein because of the incredible patience and detail with which he chose to explain his particular approach to me, my belief in and observation of his meticulous nature, and the genuine care and friendliness with which he and his team treated me. The procedure went very smoothly, and aside from mild discomfort in my shoulders (a side effect of gas left over from the laparoscopy) I had no discomfort and required no medications from pain at the site of the repair itself. Two weeks out, I am having to restrain myself from more vigorous exercise because things feel so normal. I am a huge fan of Dr. Moein and would recommend him to anyone for any of his specialties, cosmetic or bariatric. And for something so routine as an inguinal hernia I am extremely glad I went with Dr. Moein. Such surgeries can have complications, and the quality of the dissections and the degree to which the surgeon goes to avoid other important structures has an effect on outcomes. Another random detail: another surgeon recommended by my PCP always puts in urinary catheters for inguinal hernia surgeries and Dr. Moein never does---an annoyance I was really glad to avoid and I attribute his choice to his over thoughtfulness about what is necessary and sufficient for good outcomes.

He also had me sign paper work immediately after my surgery , he took it upon himself to do a few more surgical areas that I did not discuss with him beforehand , I had a very kind nurse at UCLA hospital that researched this doctor and told me he was not a board certified plastic surgeon..... However, his business card is very misleading , I was there for 4 days at $16,000 per day , I had severe nerve damage and was on pain medicine for almost 5 months was unable to work , drive etc for that entire time , i'm still dealing with certain movements and pain now on my 6th month . He suggested his personal nurse Maude for aftercare , when the pain increased so bad initially after surgery the nurse would not call 911 , I felt scared & trapped , after one hour of complaining she had made the second call to Dr. Moein , who was not going to let her call 911 finally he agreed and allowed her to call 911 , Dr Moein was very nice initially, but once there was a problem, he was very shrewd , non compassionate , however, at the fifth of month as the worst of pain has decreased. I had a lengthy talk with him on the phone and he agreed to refund my 20,000 $ that I paid in full , at the time I was not even asking for pain and suffering and lost time of my work , As I told Dr Moein when he came to see me at the hospital UCLA , I wished I never met him , he has been my worst nightmare, literally Im still traumatized with nightmares over the sleepless night's & relentless pain I endured and still in Recovery .

I called Dr. Diaz's office to confirm if this was normal and if anything had happened to not achieve the perfect results expected. Dr. Diaz called and explained everything perfectly and removed all of my concerns. Dr. Diaz is truly one of the best plastic surgeons, and a rhinoplasty is like trying to do surgery on a moving target. To solve for the final 1% of my concern, I was invited to speak to him for a revision in the future if needed. This is all to say, he is truly the best and while 99.999% of his results are all home runs, sometimes very complex noses (like mine) have a slightly almost perfect result and that is OKAY!
