Joel stole several hundred dollars of my money and disappeared without providing the service that I paid for. In September of 2022 I bought a package of 10 hyperbaric oxygen sessions, and I came in 3 times that month. In December of that year I tried to schedule another session, but he told me he was in the process of relocating to another building and that he would be available very soon. I told him this was okay and I would just wait until he finished setting up. Fast forward to March of this year, I had a motorcycle accident and a viral sickness at the same time and I needed to get in for more HBO sessions to help my body heal in time for my wedding in May. I have tried contacting Joel many many times through both call and text and he has completely ghosted me. He owes me 7 oxygen sessions that I paid for, and he has taken my money and ran away. I came here because I'm recovering from Long Covid (an autoimmune condition affecting my brain as a result of Covid). From the first session I noticed a strong effect (as I hoped since hyperbaric is known for helping recover from brain injuries). A special thank you for Bryan at O2 UP! I moved back to LA in October 2016 and immediately my Lyme disease came out of remission after 3 years. I had severe welts all over my face and body. These painful welts last months, in addition to brain fog, edema, joint pain, and the list goes on. A doctor told me to try hyperbaric oxygen treatments after nothing else worked. I started to research places in LA that offer these treatments. 4 places that I called simply asked if I can commit to paying $150/session for 5 days a week, in addition to seeing their doctor's they would set me up with; it all seemed like a scheme to me. Right off, I would like to give O2 Up at least 10 stars... I'm going to list why: 1. Bryan & Joel are two of the most genuinely caring, knowledgeable and excellent people you could ever wish to have help you on your HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) adventure. I went in there apprehensive and did one session only. Soon after, I bought a series. Not just because they are so nice and made the experience so comfortable, but because O2 therapy WORKS! 2. I first went into O2 Up on a walker, about two weeks after being released from the hospital post emergency cervical spine surgery. I couldn't walk, and I had pretty severe peripheral neuropathy-(tingling & numb fingers, legs & feet.) I was terrified I might have permanent damage due to an infection. 17 sessions later (20 sessions are the therapeutic minimum for my issues) I can walk, I have no infection in my body, neuropathy is much much better & my skin now glows rosy pink... trust me when I tell you I was gaunt & grey after 4 weeks in the hospital. 3. The FDA currently only recognizes about 10 conditions HBOT works for, but in Europe & especially Israel, HBOT is used for 100's of conditions with excellent results. A beautiful facility with surprisingly convenient street parking given that it's on Venice Blvd. I haven't used the many other services offered at the clinic but their spaces appear quite nice. I've used Bryan Johnson's hyperbaric chamber a few times with great results. The first time was for treatment for a neck injury. Felt great enough to compete at a jiujitsu tournament later that week. Now I routinely go there as pre-tournament preparation. I find that it helps with my cardio and in-between-rounds recovery. I have been coming to 02 UP since August for a total of 13 treatments so far. I have been using the treatment in addition to changing my diet as part of a healing protocol for autoimmune disease. Before the treatments I had so much joint pain, that I could barely walk, use my hands, or even dress myself on most days. The pain was indescribable and on top of that as a dancer, I could not work or do what I loved. After the first 10 treatments which I completed in two weeks, my pain was dramatically reduced. I could jog and work out. I was slowly able to start training in modern again and have been steadily getting better enough to start ballet. After the last 3 treatments my pain is *almost gone*!!!! My friend who races motorcycles recommended hyperbaric therapy after I broke my two ankles because that's what a lot of the MotoGP guys do to recover from injuries. Having never tried it, I opted for the location closest to my home with the best Yelp reviews. I was skeptical but willing to try anything to speed up my recovery as I couldn't handle the idea of being in a wheel chair for 6 to 8 weeks. In the two weeks following my accident, I had roughly 20 hours in the chamber and the bruising and inflammation were nearly gone. After 16 days, I went back to my doctor for additional X-rays to confirm I was on track and he was amazed with how well I was healing. So much so, that he revised my time in the wheel chair down from 6 - 8 weeks to 4 - 5 weeks and that's coming from an incredibly cautious doctor. I have some circulation issues in my leg, and especially in my right foot. After doing a bunch of research, I decided to give mild hyperbaric treatment a try. I found O2 Up and met with Bryan, and did 6 or so sessions about 8 months ago. I definitely felt better and had improvement in my foot. I stopped going because I got very busy. Recently, about two months ago or so, I started seeing Bryan again and doing 1 hour sessions. I think tomorrow will be my 11th session. My foot has improved and I always feel more energized after a session. The sessions are not cheap, but, they are effective. Everything in our body needs oxygen, and lying in a pressure chamber is a great way to get more oxygen into the cells. Bryan uses a large chamber, so I'm not claustrophobic while I'm inside (which was a major concern of mine). What I have also noticed is that it is always clean air inside - never foul odors from previous users! I take my iPhone in, put on music, and relax. I sought HBOT therapy after my son's ADHD symptoms began getting worse as he entered puberty, and we got a SPECT exam that showed his brain was underactive. I wanted to find a way to heal the brain, rather than just temporarily medicate it with a stimulant. We had tried medication twice in the past and it made him too hyper and I just didn't think it was in his best interest to keep on trying different drugs. I had to find a bio-medical doctor, because his UCLA doctors had no alternatives for me. I came back for a stomach ulcer and I can't express how much hyperbarics has helped me. I had the ulcer for 5 weeks before I had my session with Bryan. I couldn't drive, it was hard to eat, and I was constantly nauseous with intense stomach acid pain. I tried anti acids, aloe vera, slippery elm, marshmallow root, and even mastic gum. Nothing worked well. But after my first session, I noticed a difference right away the next day. I felt somewhat normal again! I found o2 Up through a living social special and have continued to come for o2 treatment as I feel so many positive changes going on as a result of the hyperbaric chamber and o2 therapy....I had a pretty bad injury to a finger when I started and the injury has healed completely without infection or other problems.
