I completely disagree with Ashly and Michelle's reviews. I was diagnosed with the same skin rash called Perioral Dermatitis. If Ashly or Michelle had either patience of trust, their healing process may have been more positive. Perioral Dermatitis is one of the most difficult skin rashes to treat, and Dr. Berhoozan was not only encouraging, but also successful in eliminating this problem for me. If you research Perioral Dermatitis, all research says you have to be "patient!" By following Dr. Berhoozans rules I have better skin today then I did before the rash. Although Dr. Berhoozan has "graduated" me from his care, if I ever have any skin issues, he will be my go to! Highly recommended! read more

Dr. B is literally the best Derm in LA. I haven't been able to see him during the past few years because of Covid, I lost my PPO insurance-- which is not his fault, obviously. He is the friendliest and most adorable man and a complete skin genius and wizard! Even though he does a lot of cosmetic high end dermatology and his office looks like a million bucks, he's one of the rare LA premium dermatologists that also does medical dermatology which is what I saw him for. Acne and Eczema. The latter of which can be hard to treat. I also messed myself up with a stupid at home micro-needle and he fixed me right up and didn't make me feel like a jerk! But what I am most thankful for is his care for my husband (at the time) who is very fair and works outside quite a bit. He caught three!! melanomas before they became serious. Two of which were on the face. We were worried that his face would have scars but you can't tell anything ever happened. That's how talented he is!! Before Dr B, my husband had a melanoma on his back and the dermatologist we had at the time dug it out like he was scooping freezing ice cream! There was a huge scar and indentation. So it matters a lot how skilled your Derm is at both the medical aspects and the cosmetic ones. To quote him, "I've never lost a patient to skin cancer!" Thank the heavens!! It was a relief that all we had to do was make sure my hub went every six months for his skin check with Dr B to remain melanoma free. Peace of mind, priceless! I also had a painful skin problem that was chronic and in a sensitive area that's the domain of the lady doctor. My GYN tried everything and he's also a fabulous doctor. But I was in so much pain and so frustrated because we couldn't figure out what it was and I just couldn't live with no diagnosis. Even though this area isn't the area of the dermatologist to take care of, I told Dr B about it and how desperate I was. He said if I was comfortable, he would look at it (along with a female nurse present) and I said please do. Well, he solved it! It was it eczema- the worst! And he solved it. Cured! I had been dealing with that for at least two years and finally he resolved it. No more pain, no more frustration! Not many doctors would be willing to do that, but he did, because he's a badass and a wonderful person! As soon as I get a PPO, I'm running back to him! I believe his office has some parking in the back too. There's a CVS down just down the road and lots of cafes walking distance just up the block if you need a good cup of coffee. I felt compelled to write a review because I was so impressed with my experience at Dermatology Institute of Southern California. I am a clinician myself, I never mentioned this during consults because I want to receive the full patient experience. I called to book my skin care check and was so pleasantly surprised by how smooth and seamless the process was. I spoke to a woman named Lindsay. She was so kind and informative. She talked me through what to expect the day of, discussed the directions to the office, parking and how the consult was going to be conducted. I was booked with Jackie, one of the PA's in the office. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a very friendly girl at the front that reviewed my forms with me and gathered my health insurance card. The office ambiance was gorgeous! Jackie made me feel so comfortable and at ease . She has a very warm bedside manner. I expressed concerns over my family history of melanoma, Basal cell and squamous. Also, I (shamefully) admittedly have a history of sun exposure since childhood. She did not shame me, instead confirmed I was in the right place and in capable hands to do a thorough evaluation. She was extremely thorough during my evaluation. She checked every inch of skin, really focusing on my areas of concern. She was also very courteous when evaluating breast and private areas to cover quickly after. I appreciated her respecting my modesty. She found two areas that she communicated she wanted to keep an eye on. She explained the biopsy process and how she would only shave the necessary skin cells, nothing excessive, as to keep in mind the aesthetic of the skin. She explained that breast tissue heals differently, so she was as conservative as she could be when taking skin sample. She thoroughly and clearly explained how to take care of biopsy sites and when to expect biopsy results back. She recommended follow up every 6 months due to my sun exposure and family history. Dr Behroozan just saved my life! No joke! I have been going to Dr Behroozan for years, after doing a ton of research on the top dermatologists on the Westside. (I live in MDR). Since I am a fair skinned red-head, I get checked every 6 months. I called to get an appointment, but it turned out they were booked and the Doctor was going to be gone for 3 weeks for a family celebration overseas. Thank God there was a last minute cancellation the same day. I took it. While getting my routine exam, the doctor noticed that a mole we checked about 3 years ago on my chest, had changed, he recommended removing it and having it analyzed. Again, thank God he did, because when he called me 2 days later after expediting the lab results, it turned out to be In-Situ Melanoma! Holy SH!T, I thought! Panic set in. He insisted I come to his Beverly Hills office, I raced over there, where he surgically took out more skin around the mole on my chest per proper procedure. He and his staff stayed late to get this done for me...they even had the lab guy waiting to take my "specimen" to UCLA to analyze right away. If this story doesn't "move" you, let me plead to you to go get checked every 6 months, ideally by the best dermatologist in California - Dr Daniel Behroozan! Don't wait, don't make excuses. If I had delayed or the doctor decided for me to wait until he got back & didn't make the extra effort, I could be in a much worse situation & my life could honestly be in danger. Christine is amazing! She is so knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. I have been seeing her for facials since 2017 and she has transformed my skin. We've done peels & microdermabrasion as well as regular facials. She knows how to support any medication or topicals with her treatments and has also taught me about what products are safe to use in combination. If you want the personal touch, this is not the place! The first visit seemed ok. But then the second and third visit all exactly one month apart, was totally different. He did not remember seeing me before or what the treatment was. I have clients and I read all their info to know what was done before etc, and stay on top of things. The third visit, again, had no recollection of my previous visits/treatment etc, was asked to show him what we were working on in the mirror, as it is so minor, but I'm ocd! Dr. Behroozan is the best! He trained at UCLA medical school and started college there at age 16. He is extremely intelligent and gifted in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Behroozan graduated summa cum laude from UCLA with a BS in neuroscience and was awarded college honors at graduation for exemplary academic accomplishments. I felt very safe and comfortable seeing him with all the COVID-19 precautions taken at his office. Everyone had N-95 masks, my temperature was taken upon arrival, extra sanitation in rooms between patients, and social distancing measures. He preformed surgery on me to remove body piercings and it didn't hurt at all! I also see him for my Botox Treatments. Preventative Botox in your 20s is a great way to ensure your expression lines don't get deeper. I never bruise, results last 4-5 months because he doesn't dilute it like many other people in the area. For me it's important to have a Board Certified MD Dermatologist Surgeon inject me. He knows the anatomy of the face and what is under the skin as a surgeon. This ensures the best natural looking outcome without complications or droopy eyes. He is a nice man, married with a beautiful wife and 3 sweet kids. He treats adults and is so kind and gentle with children. Spent over $2K on 3 laser treatments for rosacea with very minimal results afterwards. There's really no "satisfaction guaranteed" for these expensive laser procedures so you need to consider that before having it done. What I didn't appreciate was the Dr. recommending Clear & Brilliant laser for skin texture/pigmentation after I just finished my laser treatments for rosacea. Why would I spend more money on other expensive laser treatments if the rosacea that I came in for wasn't satisfactorily treated? A basic retinol cream would have been a much more affordable treatment, but this wasn't even discussed...Seems like they really push expensive laser procedures in this practice. read more

I came across Dr. Behroozan's credentials while searching for an expert in MOHS, and could not be happier in going to him for this treatment. This was my first run-in with skin cancer, and as you can imagine, it was some of the scariest news I've ever received. Dr. B took great care in explaining the treatment, the recovery process, and everything in between. The MOHS treatment itself was smooth and seamless, with Dr. B maintaining a professionalism throughout that really put me at ease. It's clear that he cares for his patients, and the phone call the evening after the surgery to make sure I was ok was icing on the cake. I have been gong to Christine Nguyen, the aesthetician at Dr. Behroozan's office for about 6 months for microdermabrasion treatments. On our first visit she went over some treatment options for my concern with dark spots and acne scarring. Christine is very knowledgable when it comes to the skin and takes her time to ensure a thorough clean each time I see her. Any questions I have, she is able to provide an answer with the knowledge to back it up. In the months since seeing her for treatments, I have seen a noticeable difference in the appearance of my skin. I made an appointment with Dr. Behroozan to have an annual skin check and in anticipation of seeing him in the future for facial redness (roseacea) etc. His office is just a few blocks from my home. However one of the front desk personnel was really rude. Additionally the doctor was initially warm and welcoming, until he found out I wasn't going to spend thousands at that appointment. I had an HMO at the time so was paying out of pocket for the consultation. The consultation was around $400 and there was no offer of a credit for future work done. He may be a great dermatologist but blowing someone off after 10 minutes because they aren't going to spend a lot at an initial appointment for me is closing the door to any future appointments. read more

I visited Dr. Behroozan for dark spots on my face and upper lip. I bought a 4 pack of treatments for the clear and brilliant laser at his office and it's nothing short of amazing. My skin is lighter, brighter, and has a naturally dewy glow. The first treatment out of the 3 I had done so far wowed me the most. It's truly life changing when you realize how neglected your skin can be. Now, the dark spots are barely there and I can go out make up free. One more treatment and I'm good to go I think. I also bought the vitamin-CE serum from Dr. Behroozan's brand of skin care products. It hydrates as well as treats dark spots. The polish scrub is also a very good and unique product I've been using once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate my skin. Love his office and team. I used to like the doctor as one of the few dermatologists who was not primarily focused on cosmetic procedures (which are most profitable) and was still practicing basic dermatology. No longer! He has decided to focus only on surgeries and cosmetic procedures which are profitable and abandon totally basic dermatology. It is very challenging nowadays to find a dermatologist who is still interested in practicing medicine. This is not even the reason for my complaint. When I booked an appointment for a dermatology problem, I was never informed of this. I even called to be on a waitlist because I urgently wanted to be seen and in the 3 conversations I had with the receptionist about seeing the doctor, there was no mention he no longer sees dermatology patients. When I attended at the office, I saw all the new ads regarding cosmetic procedures and was wondering who was performing them. I was then told that the doctor performs them and I could talk to him after I met with someone (whose name I didn't recognize). Upon questioning I was told for the first time that I was seeing a physician assistant, which was totally not productive for a skin issue which needed the expert experience of a dermatologist. In dermatology it's always experience which counts most - one look can provide an accurate diagnosis with experience. I was very upset and another lady waiting in the room expressed the same frustration. I was asked if I wanted to just cancel the appointment, but I had waited for days for the appointment and took time from work and my schedule for the appointment and could not afford the time to just come and leave. I saw the PA and of course, she was of no help at all, even though pleasant enough. It's really very unprofessional and deceptive practice unbecoming for a physician. She was very knowledgeable, thorough, understanding and proactive in providing me the right treatments for my skin conditions and provided expert medical suggestions in addition. The staff was very thorough and tech savvy taking notes throughout, and made sure I was following a proper skin care regimen. Staff desk assistants at both locations very friendly and helpful from when I initially called, walking in, leaving etc. Nice offices. COVID Safe all procedures followed to keep everyone safe. My skin has completely transformed ever since I have been seeing Christine at Dr. Behroozan's office! I had very dark hyper-pigmentation on my neck, as well as acne scars all over my face. I had never done a chemical peel before and was nervous, but it is very safe and my skin has never looked this good!
