I want to leave a positive review since it's a small business operated by an individual, but at this price tag (total: $550+tax) and the experience we received for our PROPOSAL, I want to share my full experience to warn others who may be interested in this service PROs: - Food quality: chacuterie had a lot of variety and was fresh. Jaime also had a small fan to help keep flies away from our food which was a helpful addition. Our chocolate dipped strawberry, rice crispy and Oreo dessert dish were all great and freshly prepared - Punctuality: Jaime was punctual and everything was set up by the time we got there CONS: - Location: the picnics are offered at a park where there are many patches of dead grass. There are so many beautiful areas of hawaii and this one was just not it. There weren't many palm trees (maybe only 1 where we took photos), and several folks after seeing my proposal picture had to ask if it back home in California, or hawaii - Photographer ($150 of the $550) was a total flop and the worst part of the entire experience. Let me elaborate: - This was booked for our proposal, a once in a lifetime event. However, 90% of the photos are blurry and unusable (see photos attached for yourself). There are 2 "money" shots that I feel are a requirement: the actual proposal AND the ring picture (both of which are blurry). - Our photos were sent exactly 7 days after the proposal, with a # of edited photos and some unedited ones. I noticed that certain pictures were missing (such as a close up ring photo) and asked for all of the raw photos to be sent which she did 2 days later. To my surprise, it was blurry - Out of 130 photos, only 4 are deemed usable, in my opinion. Out of these 4, I have also asked for the raw images since I am not a fan of how the editing smoothed out our skin texture to not look natural. I have requested the raw images, but have been ignored. Technically her end of the contract is fulfilled with X number of photos and X number of edits (And she kindly provided all the photos exceeding the originally contracted # of photos). I also understand that the definition of a "good photo" is subjective, but I think we can unanimously agree that blurry photos or providing FULL edits to photos (where there's only a certain number of photos to be edited per contract) of when 1 fiancé is not ready (or smiling, see photo attached) is bad. The owner refused a refund for the $150 for photos. And I think the least that can be done to make it right is to send the raw images for the 4 photos that I requested so I can re-edit them and not blur/smooth our skin My fiancé purposely chose a picnic for the proposal, as it is one my favorite past times and we have worked with many picnic planners before. Though, the planning was fine, the quality and service which we were given is truly disappointing. EDIT below is responding to Jaime's comment below as yelp doesn't have a "comment" feature - the 130 photos that include raw images do NOT provide the images that have already been retouched. First of all everything was booked via the website and paid for upfront. I received a booking confirmation email with a few questions and a contract. I was in Texas so I was a bit nervous but I have to say, I am beyond pleased with the entire experience. This was a surprise for my husband's birthday. I booked the sunset Hawaiian experience at Magic Island because we wanted local native food options as opposed to anything I could get back home, and didn't want sand in our food lol. Jamie was very responsive (5 hour difference in time zones) and accommodating. Her directions the day of we're on point, even for me who has ZERO sense of direction, I had no trouble at all finding the location. From the beautiful fresh and fragrant leis, pineapple infused water, to the delicious wine concoction she made, fresh local fruits, dishes and desserts the entire experience was amazing. I found out I wasn't a poi person but hers was actually pretty good. We were past full and had so much food. We had a Bluetooth speaker and she was nice to take a few pictures while we weren't even looking and sent them to me. Everything about Jamie, her journey and believes resembles this island so well. We were lucky to meet her partner and both are so sweet and genuine. They purchased their bamboo cutlery from another small business which in a way is giving back. I loved this. Support small businesses and enjoy a unique experience with your loved ones, sounds like a win win in my book. Can't wait to return for our anniversary! Set up was in a perfectly shady spot at Kualoa Regional Beach Park. WOW so much food! The design of the charcuterie board was amazing with a ton of variety of sweet and salty goodness. I loved that our mimosas glasses were never empty. The finish was a tray of perfectly dipped chocolate treats for dessert. A nice souvenir set of reusable utensils and bamboo straws is a great memento to bring a smile to our faces each time we use them. I was advised that a person in charge of picnic would contact me the day of . No reasonable contact was made prior event until I called business owner 30 min before event should should take place. Yesterday I took my husband on a surprise sunset beach picnic. It was so relaxing and the experience was unmatched. The owner/host Jamie thought of everything she had a hand washing sation and custom charcuterie boards to meet my dietary needs. Her wife serenaded us, Malia's tone is so beautiful it's a perfect match for the calming ocean waves. We even had a photographer, Mike took 100s of candid photos as we dined and enjoyed the evening and even did a mini photo shoot after we ate. I can't wait to see the photos. Honestly, best picnic experience ever. The food was fantastic, souvenirs were just the right touch, location was BREATHTAKING!!! We even had someone take our pictures and they came out amazing. It was the worst experience EVER. It was NOT a romantic beach setting, at least not at the Electric Beach and Park. STAY AWAY. The woman was anything but professional. We did not stay and eat, because of the nastiness that surrounded us. It is NOT a beach. The beach pictures are not where we were taken to. I asked how she expected us to walk along the beach at 7 when the dinner was over. Her response-"Oh I'd never recommend walking along the beach here at night." There is not a true concierge service. There is a woman in a tank top and shorts that gives you the food. The setting was anything but luxury as their contract states. She then blamed the city of Honolulu because it's where she could only get permits. She was rude and filled with excuses. She then referred to my email where I said everything she had planned sounded perfect. And it did. I was relying on HER expertise as the SME on the this especially since it's her business.
