This was the most intimate and thoughtful experience that we have attended. The staff was genuine and extremely nice. The facilities were easy to navigate and didn't seem overly fabricated to create a fake experience. The view was outstanding, jaw, dropping, amazing. We were treated to several demonstrations on how the people lived on the island. My group got to watch an authentic dance and performance. And we end the night with entertainment while enjoying a island buffet. From Kahlúa pork to sticky rice to traditional foods our group got the try so many cultural aspects of the island. One of the best parts of this experience is, they are situated in a state park, so there is no light pollution, noise, pollution, or any other random traffic that can interrupt your experience. My husband and I decided to look at small venues and saw Maleana Gardens. Usually they do small weddings up to 20 people. I was a little hesitant at first because on their IG it looked a little too good to be true and I didn't hear much about it. After speaking with Cheri, the owner, she invited us to go down to their property and take a look for ourselves before booking. We totally winged it and went. The property is full of luscious tropical plants, amazing photo ops, and overall absolutely beautiful! It felt like we were on another island. Cheri shared she and her husband,Scott planted all of the plants and maintained the grounds for many years. So cool! Going through the process of planning (yes even for an intimate ceremony) can be stressful. Through out the process, Cheri was easy to get a hold of and so helpful during this crazy time. Our wedding ceremony was able to go as planned and we didn't have to worry about anything. Cheri worked with our vendors and was even able to do a last minute set up for cake cutting. The drink menus were a basic word document with our drink names in Arial font and did not have any correlation to our theme at all. Our 2 signature drinks were a specialty lemon drop martini and a Paloma. The Palomas were not made right and felt unbalanced even after we provided feedback to try to correct it. The first few martinis were served without lemon juice and so I had to clarify the recipe with the bartender. I think I'm a better bartender that can taste and can make adjustments to make sure I'm serving the best drinks I can which is highly disappointing as we paid for "professional bartenders". Overall, I think they put minimal effort into the presentation and they did not serve great drinks. I would not recommend them. I would recommend hiring Elise from Honolulu Bartending Company as she was our bartender for another event and she was a dream and went above and beyond for us.
