This place is gem of a kind. I really liked the whole tour that I took myself as it was a quite night with no-one else but me and my boyfriend. We had a blast as the big restaurant with all its amenities was all ours. 1. The seating is huge with two floors. Lounges , dinning tables and what not. 2. Second it has live dj and the pub is open late on weekends for dj parties 3. Food and service is excellent. We not only enjoyed the food but played a good match of table tennis. There is a big section dedicated to games as well. I am setting this place as my go to and for sure one of my events will take place here. read more

I've gone to oak and thorne many many times (tbt to when this location used to be sharks club), i used to frequent it on weekends back in my 20s. Oak is part of the JRG fam, which i find hit or miss. I'm a big fan of Livelyhood in port moody (i think they have a great chef cuz the food is usually pretty good). I went to celebrate my nephews 8th birthday there (he said his reasoning was cuz they had good breakfast, and he could watch the hockey game). It was during happy hour so there are some cheaper options. I decided to get 1 corn dog ($4), and the pretzel ($6). When they server came with the food she was like "they accidentally made you 3 corn dog". well hey i'm not complaining! The pretzel arrived and looked ROUGH. i could tell it was going to be awful, i had a few bites and was not having it, it was dry, no salt or seasoning and the dip only worked for the corn dogs. I really enjoyed the corn dogs, they were fresh and tasty! I ended up letting the server know i was not happy with the pretzel and that it was dry and very bland. I usually have decent experiences here, the service is good, nice layout and the food is decent, but this pretzel was rough. She was really nice about my feedback and when my bill came, it was only $4. Thankfully she had taken the pretzel off my bill and was super super nice about it. Shoutout to Breanne! Mediocre at best for food and service, just not impressed. A drinks only place to go but not on my list to visit again.

My first impression towards this pub is "better" than London Bull that is also located in Langley. The interior is quite stylish. All the chairs and tables are unique. There is a lot of space in between tables (spacious). I didn't feel packed at all. I wouldn't hear any conversations at other tables. The service was excellent. Waitresses always checked on our needs and made sure if we were satisfied with the food. My coworkers and I ordered sandwiches for lunch. All of the food were great. The best thing was to refill the French fries. The pricing is average and reasonable. The only thing I didn't like is the parking lot. This pub is located in the same complex of BMO, Cobs Bread, Wire Monk and etc. The parking lot is not big, so it can be full easily. read more

Cool neighbourhood pub in Langley BC. It's got a couple of awesome features....during daily happy hour...if they ring the bell...u get free drinks!!!! They hand out hockey pucks during games & if your player scores...your table wins a free round of drinks!! This place is bombbbb! Environment is chill, a little dark, just a cool low key place to grab a bite with a friend. I've been here a few times now and the food has always been fairly good. I'm a huge fan of the roasted mushroom and smoked ham mac & cheese. The hint of truffle really makes the dish. I also tried out the all you can eat tacos this past week. It's every Monday after 6pm. $10 w/the purchase of a drink. The salt content of the taco meat was super high though, so we probably could have ate more had it not been for that - we did wonder if that was intentional. Who knows. Will try it out a few more times and see. Still pretty tasty and good value. Service has always been outstanding here. Probably some of the best service I've had at a pub. The proximity to the movie theatre also makes for a nice start to a date night. Overall I'm a huge fan. Taco meat could use less salt, but other than that, no complaints. read more

We were eager to try out the new location. I will admit that the redesign is much more alluring and was tastefully done. You get vibes of good times with the central bar, games and numerous TV's and a huge projection screen in the middle of the pub. Things went downhill from there. After being told it would be 15-20 minutes for a table, we sat for almost an hour watching as tables were cleared and remained empty. Asked if we were ok with being seated "downstairs", I thought that meant the main level. Turns out this is the game room with 3 tables. They sat us with no server, no water, no menus. Nobody came to check on us for the 15 minutes we sat there. Finally having enough of this, I told my wife, we're leaving. Nobody even approached our section on our way out. I nicely told the hostess at the front door. I have rarely had such horrible service such as this tonight. You sat us down with no menus, no drink order, no service. Jand I will truly never be coming back. JRG you guys need to get your act together. read more

Solid 3 stars for service and food. We stopped by here for lunch over the weekend and the line up was not that bad. There was only one couple ahead of us. We were seated fairly quickly. Menus and water were dropped off and we placed our order. I ordered the inside out grilled cheese and tomato soup. My date ordered an egg benny breakfast and mimosa for myself just because he knows I like but I was not paying attention. Food arrived fairly quickly. I found my grilled cheese and soup to be a tad on the overly salty side. It would have been great to wash it down with a beer. Decent comfort food. However, not the best grilled cheese or tomato soup I have eaten. It did satisfy my craving for a sandwich. Service was alright. Our server was busy doing her rounds. We flagged her for our bill. Pretty yum place tucked in a suburban-feel plaza! The menu offerings seem pretty standard, and each dish we ordered looked and tasted great. I started with a poutine (of course, while in Canada!) and to balance the guilt, had a farmers market salad. My coworker ordered the dry ribs and a burger. The appetizers were pretty big portions! Much more food than I expected to receive. Same for the salad - I felt like I was eating those greens forever haha. I can't say I'm a poutine expert, but the poutine here was just right. Not too crazy but hit the savory flavors just right. The salad was fresh and crisp, and surprisingly the chicken was not too dry and came in a satisfying ratio as well. From the outside, the ribs looked to be a hit or miss but once I bit into them, the seasoning and light moisture left me pleasantly surprised. At first we thought the establishment was closed. Dark, construction fencing and dead plants but it's open for business. Yay! From here the review goes up (mostly). The bartender didn't know how to prepare a burnt martini which isn't difficult but maybe not popular in this establishment. Our server was great; attentive, knowledgeable, friendly. I got a coupon in the mail for a free $4 breakfast. The parking lot is always packed so that was a good sign to start. When you enter there is a wood burning pizza oven to the left and a wall if steel kegs to the right. The decor has a lot of dark wood finishes. Chalk paint signs on the ceiling. Overall it's put together well. The bar is massive and has about 15 seats or more. We were seated at the section with high tables with stools. It was pretty comfy. People with mobility issues should request a regular table if possible. The serving staff is well trained and easy on the eyes (probably part of their hiring policy) Our server checked on us frequently even though it was a full house for brunch. The $4 breakfast is 2 pieces of toast, 2 eggs, deep fried chunky hashbrowns, and a choice of 2 bacon or sausage. I had the euro breakfast for $8 which includes 2 pieces of toast, 2 eggs, deep fried chunky hashbrowns, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and a tomato slice. So the only difference is extra meat and a tomato slice. It tasted great. For the value i would stick with the $4 special. Tea cost $3.10. With the coupon our bill was under $15 before tax. Not in love, the decor actually was surprisingly nice for a pub atmosphere and I NEED their bookshelves but everything else was very middle of the road. The food was fine but not anything that blew our socks off and the service was adequate if a tiny bit slow at times. The location is pretty big. The bar seems to be in the middle surrounded by a large space. The music is decent. They have a few arcade games, couple table top games to keep you entertained. Not sure what the issue is with this extension of JRG but their food is terrible. I have visited 3 separate occasions at different times (2 lunch and 1 dinner) and food was terrible every time! Salad, wraps, sandwich, and pasta. I just feel that every item was executed very very poorly. Perhaps the kitchen staff need a major overhaul. Service however was great in my opinion. Very attentive and pleasant. If you're looking for something to just curb the hunger give it a try I guess but for anything beyond that i'd look elsewhere. Amazing place to be. As a visitor from Toronto, this place couldn't have been more awesome and make me wish this was located in Toronto. Ambiance is unreal. With a great display of tap selection, TV's, light fixtures and interesting paintings and phrases on the wall. Beer is in my experience, inexpensive. Has the Oak Lager and it was light and delicious. Only for $5 as well? Can't go wrong. The poutine is one of the best poutines I've had in a long time. Thinner fries and perfect gravy and curds. Presentation was great too in a heavy steel bowl. Ordered a meat lovers omlette as well, which was very disappointing, but I'll fault myself for ordering a breakfast at a bar I'd say. I've heard from others before that this place is blatantly racist with who they allow/don't allow in, especially on crowded Friday and Saturday nights. I hadn't experienced this until this past weekend. I was so extremely disappointed with the way the bouncer treated me and my friends the other night. It was five of us girls, all East Indian. We were immediately denied entry upon arrival, as the bouncer (whom I know to go by the name of John) made an awfully hasty and rash decision as soon as he saw us. I then asked to use the restroom and was still denied access. They were extremely disrespectful and rude towards all of us and I now have no doubt in my mind that they operate with blatant racism. It's quite sad actually. I would never give them business in the future and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

It accommodates children as well as it was a half way point between Guildford and Abbotsford where I was meeting a friend The menu is your regular Town Hall menu. No surprises here. Good Happy Hour special. A can of lager for $3.25. Ordered the dry ribs, chicken wings, and Nachos. All under $20. We had the nachos and dry ribs first. No cutlery and napkins were provided. Couldn't get another server to come. Started eating the food. We (my son and I) noticed our drinks hadn't come yet. As we waited we noticed bigger tables that were seated way after us were getting their drinks. I flagged down what seemed to be a manager. Asked how the people around us who were seated after us got their drinks and we didn't. He looked into it. Found our drinks and comped it. Nice gesture for being forgotten. We wanted to order other things but in the span of 45 mins not one server came over and checked on us. The theme of the day was we had to constantly flag someone to help us. Got a refill on the ice tea and ordered the honey garlic chicken wings. My friend showed up to meet. By then it was a different server who was more attentive. My friend ordered and we received our wings. They were Terriyaki. Feeling like we weren't gonna get served we just ate them anyways. They were good though. Nice portion for $7. My friend ordered a vegetarian burger. The salad it came with looked good. He seemed to enjoy it. I then order a shock top cocktail. It was pretty delicious. The server came and asked if I like it. She did a way better job than the first server, who completely forgot about us. That was pretty much the highlight of the visit. Game was over and we wanted to leave right away. It took some time to get our server, but she was cool so I didn't mind waiting. I would have left a bigger tip but the service was subpar at the beginning. I wish the second server got 100% of the tip. As I left I felt my eyes were stinging. When I got home they were burning. I got pink eye. Not entirely sure from this place but it did happen right when I left. This is a weekend night spot for clubbing. Not really a go to neighborhood restaurant. I might check it out as a night spot and see if it changes my mind. As for now I most likely won;t go back for any other reason. Town Halls in generally seem to have really gone downhill read more

This place is very disappointing. Went out there last Saturday night. I felt mistreated by the bouncer at the door upon entering, when he told me that I was too intoxicated and this one time he will let me in this time. I was taken back and baffled by this remark as I wasn't even drinking? I didn't argue and went inside. I found out he said the same exact thing is to ONE of my five friends with me....who was also the same racial background. Being bothered and left very disturbed by this, once inside I built the courage up to go talk to a manager, as I felt it was not right what he said. The "manager" was this young woman who didn't appear very professional with her approach when she came to talk me. After explaining my situation, she told me she was at the door and that I was too intoxicated at the door and bouncer had asked me to have water. I was shocked because she wasn't at the door and no one had offered me water? I told her that wasn't the truth, she got upset and got bouncer to come escort me outside. I was SHOCKED. I asked the bouncer why was I being asked to leave, he said you are too intoxicated. Funny thing was I wasn't, and it was because I was calling them out in their wrong. I told him A. I wasn't falling all over the place, B. I wasn't slurring, C. I wasn't fighting with anyone. I was hoping for a good evening dancing with my friends. I was pretty hurt by this experience and my friends were disturbed. When leaving I talked to a cop at the front of the bar, he agreed with me I wasn't intoxicated and told me it's not worth being at place where they mistreat you. I didn't want to write this review but as it's been a week and I'm still bothered by my experience I needed to let others know. I hate pulling out the race card, but I strongly in my heart felt it was racial profiling and it was disturbing. Oak and Throne should be ashamed and they should hire some employees that are open to various races Anyways ... We left and spend the whole night at The Tap-house where we had a good rest of the night. I would never go back there again and my friends agreed they lost a few extra customers. read more

I'm embarrassed to think that JRG would seat paying customers in a seat they know is freezing cold. Sure it's winter but that makes no sense.
