We love coming to Browns in walnut grove! Conner, the manager, always makes sure we're taken care of. Danielle, the hostess, makes sure our visit starts and ends with a smile. All of the staff we've met are fabulous! Especially, Thomas, Erin and Mia. Have the fish n chips if you're wanting a great hearty meal. Or the Tuna crunch salad , if you want a healthier option. Stopped by after the driving range on a pouring rain day. It was packed and buzzing almost like there was a big hockey game! Enjoyed a couple of hours with my bestie as this is half way for both of us. Wine and appy after golf is perfect! Josh seated take it's and came by st the end to see how we enjoyed ourselves. told him how previously, for years, I didn't like Browns but a few months ago, Coquitlam Browns and then this one, changed my mind and now it's a definite favorite. Told him I had previously written a review about Colby and he said he had read it. And then to top it off he said he read a few of my reviews and really appreciated that I write good and bad reviews. Browns is a great place for lunch or a late night meal. We stop in here on the fly and they never disappoint. So far all locations have been great for service and consistently delivering great meals. Atmosphere is always casual and staff greets you with an upbeat attitude. Anytime things don't go as planned we've been able to count on them working hard to make things right. I'm not the easiest to take care of for a server, I need to have certain things come out at the right time during my meal or my palate won't be happy!! I'm a slave to my palate lol !! ;0) So for me this has been one restaurant I can count on to get it right. I've grown up with burgers, burgers and burgers and yes more burgers!! The Pub burger is on par every time, can be a little messy so have plenty of napkins especially if your still dating. My wife is used to seeing me a mess so it's not so bad for me lol!! One of our favourite nachos are served here and the key lime pie is the best! The Social Lager is good for a house beer plus I can't forget the fresh squeezed juices! The Margaritas are especially good with fresh squeezed lime or try a grapefruit one, now that's different. We had a nice night in the newly renovated Walnut Grove Browns Socialhouse! A totally new bar area...and a revamp on the rest...looks great in there. Still very familiar to what it was but freshened up! The food is always predictably good! I tried the Cali Burger...yum! Guacamole, Bacon, Chipotle, Tortilla Chips and Cheese...oh my the flavours and textures were all so good! The patty had great flavour as well. It was a little bit loud but we wanted a place that was lively! There was a good energy in the restaurant...lots of people...lots of laughter...it was a good night! Our service was great too! My coworker and I went to Brown Social House in Langley for lunch today. We go there for lunch once in a while. We always call to the restaurant, reserve a table and preorder the food. When we arrive the restaurant, we always get a table right away. The food arrives on time as we preorder it on phone. The service is very good. Servers always check on our needs. We always order the same dishes as we like them very much. My dish is the fettuccine carbonara with blackened chicken and garlic bread (half size) and my coworker's is the chicken quesadilla with fries. The quality of the food maintains well. Although we order the same dishes every time, the food tastes the same that we satisfy about it. We ordered burgers before. They were good. We didn't really have anything to complain about the food of this restaurant. Nice! read more

Was here last week the food was horrible, they gave us coupons for $10 off so we figured we'd try it again. We were a party of four, 2 of us got or food right away. Our 13 year old ate his burger very fast as he was hungry, our 16 year old ate must of her fries first the rest of our food still hadn't shown up. I looked over as she was taking her second bite and the burger patty was raw, and not just a lil but I mean fucking raw like there's no way a cook should be able to miss it. I could see it from 4 ft away in dim lighting, the manager was apologetic but you could tell she was used to having to do this. The front end staff of this place are amazing and do a great job, whom ever is running the kitchen should be fucking fired. Just pathetic read more

Yes, there is food and drink. It's all fine. Let's discuss the service ... I've turned a new leaf when it comes to tipping. As a former over tipper, I've come to the realization that sometimes the service just sucks and is not worthy of a gratuity. Say that not tipping effect the kitchen staff as well, no argument here. Maybe the chef as well as the front of house manager can remind servers the importance of delivering the food, clearing the table & offering follow up to the customers in a timely fashion. Sitting with a cold cup of coffee for over 20 minutes after plates have been cleared in a half empty establishment is not acceptable and the gratuity shall reflect that. read more

After a night of mingling at a friend's birthday party, my companion and I craved a late night nosh with some class. It was 11:30pm on a saturday night. Where could we go to find such an experience? We decided to check out Brown's Sociallhouse in Walnut Grove. The vibe is hip, sexy, cool. Much like that of a Cactus Club or Moxies. The walls were adorned with several mirrors and ceramic stag heads. My partner in crime ordered a glass of Pinot Gringo to help her wind down from a busy evening of being a socialite. As for myself, being a responsible driver I ordered an iced tea. The menu is more of a gastro-pub situation. Fusion all around. The drinks arrived promptly. The server apologized for running out of straws for my iced tea. I didn't even notice that one should have been there in the first place. Kudos for her attention to detail. The wine had a flatness to it as though it had been sitting for a while. This was quickly remedied by a replacement of sauvignon blanc. It tasted much more alive and bright with a hint of grapefuit. Being so late in the evening we didn't want to eat too much. I decided on some yam fries ($7.45) At first I thought to myself "Almost $8 for yam fries??? This is highway robbery!!!" But let me tell you, they were' worth it. Crispy with a light coating. Perfectly seasoned and served with a chipotle mayo. I was in flavour country. To balance out this fried slice of heaven we ordered the edamame. It was served warm with sesame seeds and a bit of soy sauce on it. On the side was hot sauce which was good but not for everybody. Overall the service was stellar, atmosphere was swanky, and the prices keep out the teenage riff-raff. i'd give it 5 stars but I didn't order a full meal. That will be in chapter two. read more

Creative drink menu and a good selection on food (not to overwhelming) with healthy options such as low carb alternatives and also traditional entrees such as hamburgers cooked to perfection that comes with tasty yam fries. Been to this specific location a few times and a couple items stand out including the chicken quesadilla, cowgirl salad and Bellini's. Wasn't a fan the last time when I ordered steak and eggs over easy and got two over hard eggs instead and was given one OE egg that came across as "sorry I messes up on your two eggs but here is the actual "one" you wanted". Great place and I love it! Food is great so are all the staffs. Friendly and professional although almost all staffs are female with very nice figures and pretty short black dresses. I understand it's a business tactic but I don't know..it's 2017 and we still are all about appearance. I would love to see a mix of genders and sizes not so picked..but otherwise lots of parking space, walking distance to bus stops, and good atmosphere. While living in Yaletown Browns was one of my staple places to eat. They had the best food for the best prices hands down. When I moved to Langley nothing really took the place of Browns. That was until Browns opened up a Langley location. Since they opened I have taken a bunch of friends and they all loved it and many have become regulars. I would highly recommend to anyone. The Browns location in Langley is a happening spot. Hard to get in there on a Friday night, but the crowd is a funny mixture of nouveau singles in their late 40's who got the house in the divorce but haven't been on the "scene" with that little hair in years. The other crowd are the "get out of domestic jail free card" for the evening and are drowning their sorrows in great martinis. Some young punks thrown in for that "gangsta" flavour. As for the decor, it is dark, comfortable and so cool it loves itself. The food is really good, and the Cowboy salad is something I now crave and must go in to have. Too many TVs on the walls for my taste, and the serving staff could use a burger and longer shirts, but all in all, professional and well trained. read more

I've had a chance to eat at Brown's several times on different occasions. My first time was during an interview during which I ordered the fish sandwich. This is a big mistake as you should never eat anything with your hands during an interview, in particular a drippy burger that is as big as your head. (I got the job though, so....yay?) The fish burger is pretty tasty though, I will admit. Other items sampled: - Tuna rice bowl - pretty good, I like the wasabi mayo that comes with it. They will sub cooked veggies for it if you're not in a salad mood. - Dynamite roll - kind of meh but what do you expect in a not-Japanese restaurant? - Yam fries - crispy and hot! :) - Phatty Melt - this will probably take about 15 years off your life span. Instead of bread it's grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. GRILLED FREAKING CHEESE SANDWICHES. Mind. Blown. The price is a little on the high side but on par with what Milestones and Cactus Club charges, although I think the selection on the menu at Browns is a little bit less. read more

Walnut Grove gets a Kits style dining experience Been to Brown's now about 8 times. I know!!! Although its a franchise, I do feel it is more like a independent experience than all of Walnut Groves friendly safe chain restaurants. Its also a feeling of trendy Kits which is more than welcome. I've ordered so may things now, I am not sure where to start. The spicy Kobe beef meatballs are delicious. The Hollywood burger is not too shabby. The lemongrass soup great! Key Lime Pie most tasty! The Social Lager is actually really good for a house beer and I usually get at least two. Also, please try their spicy pizza with soprassata and capicollo, so good!! Service has been fine. I haven't had a bad experience there yet, which is surprising given how many times I've been. I hope the fine folks of Walnut Grove keep supporting this venue. read more

I am writing the review from a toilet. Normally I wouldn't be so forthcoming with that information, but it directly correlates with my 1 star rating of this location of Brown's. Today we decided to trek out to Langley to grab a bite at the Olive Garden. They happened to have a gigantic wait, and we were pretty hungry so we decided to just drive around and check out some other chain in the area. We settled on Brown's. Our night started off pretty great. We only had to wait five minutes. The hostess and server were extra friendly. We had drinks and menus taken within 10 minutes. That's when the service started to quickly decline. We noticed a massive table getting set up for 16 right next to us. "Good thing we got our orders in before that massive group gets here" we thought. Multiple servers, including ours, meticulously started setting the long table, putting out menus, water, etc. The staff seemed to be buzzing just waiting for this big group. We realized that 20 minutes had passed since our server had checked in with us, and no food was arriving. 25 minutes. 30. 40. 45. What. The. Heck. We also noticed the giant group of 16 also hadn't shown up. We honestly contemplated leaving, except we had drinks to pay for and no server to pay. Finally our server showed up and said, "Your starter should be up soon!" Really?? Nothing more to say than that?! Anyway, upon realizing the group of 16 was a no show, service for us quickly picked up. Our wings arrived and shortly after our food as well. The food wasn't too hot (I'm sure it had been sitting under a lamp for some time) but was decent. Fast forward an hour, all four of us got home and put on a movie. We all started to have "that" feeling in our stomachs. One by one we all found our way to the washroom. As I said, I am currently reviewing from one. I am not impressed. I will NOT be returning. You shouldn't go there either. Your time is worth much more than that. Your stomach will thank me. read more

Brown's is a small chain similar to Cactus Club. The food is good, and pretty dependable. And the service is decent. I've eaten here quite a few times and can't really complain. At the same time, nothing to me has been over the top. If you are looking for something that is going to be good and reliable, I reccomend Brown's. Visiting a friend out in the valley we decided to have dinner and drinks here. It was busy which is a good sign in my books! My friend and I shared the calamari to start and it was hands down the worst calamari I have ever had, like eating deep fried rubber tires. I had a stir fry dish as a main and it was tasty! I like the $4 everyday drink special (can't remember what its called) but overall this place is pretty good for a big chain, I would still choose Cactus Club over this place though. read more

Brown's Social House is now in Walnut Grove. It was tucked away near the IGA Marketplace. Upon arrival we all noticed the ambiance was very swanky and hip with lots of mirrors, large booths, and tones of brown, black, and tan decorating the place. We were promptly seated in a booth and the waitress took our drink orders. While waiting for our drinks we all noticed that there were a lot of people working at this restaurant. Perhaps too many people as it seemed cluttered with waitresses here and there with many of them constantly going to a door marked "Office" took about 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive as it wasn't even that busy. The staff is primarily made of of pretty 19-23 year old waitresses who always seem to be looking at themselves in the mirror when walking past. Drinks came but were shocked to see the $2.50 charge for a tonic water and lime. One thing that was great was the water refills came in small glass milk jars. Here are the items we ordered -Almost famous blackend fish sandwich fish was great but way too small for the bun in which it came on, coleslaw was in the sandwich which made it a disaster to eat as I had a lot of bun leftover - tuna salad fresh, crisp wonton, good dressing but they placed the tuna on the side of the salad which was odd - bbq chicken pizza very delicious but it had a bit of a spicy kick to it Here is the part that turned me off though. In needing use of the bathroom you have to walk past the kitchen where they have the prepared food waiting to be picked up so there is a chance you may run into a server with food (crash) It's kind of a long confusing hallway as the washrooms are at the end of it on the left hand side. The men's washroom resembled a change room at a public pool. I almost slipped upon entering and there was water and paper towels all over the place. Although there is ample staff working no one wants to be on bathroom duties by any means. The food was good but didn't blow me away, service was slow but the food came, and the bathrooms made we want to run away screaming. You can serve the best food, have superb ambiance, and pretty serving staff but if your washrooms are in shambles I say good day to you. read more

Quite a popular gathering spot for the the young crowd to eat. Interior is quite modern and clean. Not quite as easy to socialize as in a pub because you are mostly at cubicle tables. There is seating outside as well. Food is really good (especially the Dragon Bowl 28). Prices seem to have increase lately a little (maybe due to the HST?) My only beef was the mandatory 18% tip added to the bill when booking larger groups. I tip usually well, but I don't like to be told what I have to pay, especially if service is poor. Also be aware when getting your bill with the tip added, they leave a line to add another tip on top (used a credit card). Otherwise staff are generally good and friendly. read more

All these things are really lacking out here in langley. langley is the undisputed kingdom of chain restaurants in the GVRD- typically over-processed decor and service. Yes, this place is a chain too but it comes the closest of any (around here) to having character and charm. I have a feeling it will become me and the wifes regular getway for an adult beverage if we are lucky enough to have grandma in town to babysit the rugrats. However, still on the hunt for the perfect adult evening getaway in Langley, somewhere between pub, club, and resto with friendly staff, cool decor, good food, and maybe a pool table and dance floor on weekends. The dynamite roll was spicy even without dipping it into wasabi and that was good twist for sure. Deep fried shrimp was ok - crispy on the batter but wasn't crunchy inside. Went for lunch with friend. We sat in plastic wrapped outside area. Heaters were on and we enjoyed the warmth and quietness We split a French dip and asked for ceasar salad with dressing on the side. It was nice they divided the sandwich and fries on 2 plates. The fries were crispy and hot. Enjoyed them. Meat on sandwich was dry and had been heated on flat top so edges were crispy. Au jus anemic. Salad came dressed with enough dressing for at least 3 large salads. Dressing very very acidic. Big fail. Shared key lime pie Note to cook-- key lime pie is made with limes and taste like lime. So all in all I don't think either of us will grace the doors of this restaurant again. read more
