There were multiple red flags about this business that I ignored because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews. After publicly sharing my experience, I have had so many people reach out to me (both former clients and other pet professionals) with eerily similar experiences, including lost pets and Robin blaming the owner or the owner's home. I will never feel comfortable leaving my pets in the care of a sitter again, do yourself and your pets a favor and go elsewhere. The long and short of it: they lost my cat because they didn't follow the basic instruction of making sure the door is clicked shut (preferably locked) after walking through it. The door was open for more than 30 minutes as my cats came and went. They didn't tell me he was missing until over an hour after they noticed him gone when I saw unusual activity on my cameras and asked what was going on. How long would they have waited to tell me if I hadn't had cameras? How many people's pets have gotten out but returned and never knew? Once I got home, they provided zero assistance in finding him and didn't follow up until 72 hours later to see if I'd gotten him in. After I wrote a negative review about them, they put very specific blatant lies about my doors in their newsletter, calling my home unsafe, and then tried to argue it was being used as an educational opportunity about safety for their clients. I have lived in this house for ten years with numerous sitters, contractors, family, and friends and have never once had a lost pet. I have never had a door not lock or not unlock when it is supposed to. I was thankfully able to get my cat back into the house, filthy but otherwise unharmed, no thanks to OGPS, but that doesn't mean that serious damage hasn't been done. They meet you and your babies first, then once you become part of the OGPS family (it really feels like a family), you can rest assured that your pets are good! We have two senior dogs with different personalities and needs. I have always felt they were well cared for. One of my favorite tools is the way you reserve sitting. When it comes to our dogs, we are always cautious on who we trust to take care of them when we are out of town. Robin and Oak Grove Pet Sitting came recommended and when other plans fell through, I decided to contact the service to see if they could help so we would not need to delay our plans. Robin and her staff were AMAZING to work with! The website makes it easy to add info about your pets so that nothing is a surprise. One of the employees comes to meet the pets and get a lay of the land. They took down so many notes from where things are located, treats the dogs can get, meal times, location of extra cleaning supply (if needed), emergency contacts, etc. Jeremy was assigned to us and man, did our dogs love him and the other staff member who helped. Every time they came, they took pictures, added a detailed list of what they did, time stamps, and an entry into the "Pet Journal." Even though we were away, we felt like we were not far. How blessed we were to find Robin and her team several years ago after we adopted our first family member from the DeKalb animal shelter. From day one, Robin and her team of pet lovers have earned our trust, and I can't imagine how stressful it would be to not have this team as stand-in pet parents. They work so hard to follow all of the many particulars that each pet parent thinks is important for their baby and if ever in doubt they will message us and check in. We always appreciate the communication and dedication to excellence. Their website also makes it very easy to request service. My favorite part is probably the journal and pics they send after every visit!! I love getting realtime updates and pictures of my babies and if any pkgs were delivered or other information they may have to share. I have one dog and two cats and Oak Grove Pet Sitting helped me with dog walking and pet sitting for 2-3 trips over the past few months. I wanted to share my experience. If you read other reviews that are 3 or less stars, you will see a common thread of issues with communication with the owner. When Oak Grove Pet Sitting is good, they are so good! Their staff are AMAZING! I love their app and the reports/photos they leave after each visit. You really feel like you are spending your money well. The attention they pay to your pets is incredible. I really appreciate everything the sitters did for my pets. There were a few times where there were little things I needed to communicate with the owner, Robin, about. I started to notice that Robin had a communication style that I had a hard time with. In my experience, I received her communications as condescending, escalated and reprimanding. Each time I found myself asking, I'm the customer right? For example, I reached out to let her know I would have a guest in the home during an upcoming visit. She thought the guest was already in the home and sent 5 lengthy texts about the importance of me letting her know I have a guest in the home...which is exactly what I was reaching out to do. Anyways, I took note of the communication but figured it wasn't as important as the good care my pets were getting. The reason I chose to disengage with the company is because I left town and booked them for pet sitting of my two cats only. I took my dog with me. The first issue that happened was that they didn't realize they weren't pet sitting for my dog. On their first visit, they were panicked to not be able to locate my dog. I appreciated the concern but once the pet sitter escalated to Robin I would have expected they check the details of my booking and resolve the issue right then and there. Instead, I got several communications from them (which I received later on due to not having cell service). My cats were not taken care of durig that visit due to them being so focused on finding my dog. They did return and care for the cats later that day. Later in the same trip, the pet sitter let one of my cats out of the house. The cat is an indoor/outdoor cat so he was not in grave danger, but I did not want him outside during my absence. I was notified of this through... several long text messages. One of which started with "I need you to understand..." (in response to me asking how the cat got out). I was told that the cat had come up with a plan to escape and pushed through the legs of the pet sitter. There was no apology or accountability taken. My feeling was that pet sitters should have tabs on all pets in the home before exiting and there should have been awareness for this not to have happened. This caused a lot of unnecessary stress for me while I was away. I ultimately realized that I Cannot trust this company to pet sit for my family. read more

OGPS has been great for our two dogs and our shy foster. We have used them several times when we were travelling. I love the online portal that makes it easy to schedule and share feeding and other details with them and to see when they visit and how it goes. Our dogs are still sad and anxious when we leave to go out of town, but we feel better knowing they are in good hands! They used to be great....I'm not sure what happened, but now Robin doesn't respond to reservation requests in a timely manner. When she does finally respond, she's rude and not helpful. I think that the employees of this organization took good care of my pets. However, the management of this company leaves a great deal to be desired. I was never given a "contract" that I supposedly signed That required me to pay for services midway through my vacation (before services were completed) and after I had complained about my dogs being left in their kennels for 14 hours. When I complained, I was given all of these excuses about what was going on internal to the company that didn't allow them to provide the services I expected. I spent an entire day of my vacation trying to arrange an alternative boarding option from 500 miles away. After I paid the invoice, the owner stopped returning my emails. I am not someone who typically complains, but I was completely stressed out during my vacation abs furious about the way that I was treated by management. I finally told the owner that if you have to continually tell and client that you go above and beyond for clients, you have to question whether you are actually doing that.
