First let me say that everything up until the last few interactions was just great. I am going to write about my last interaction with Dobbin Dental Suite. I made an appointment for a routine cleaning. I made this appointment in October 2021 and they told me the first opening was in July 2022. I thought that was odd to wait that long but like I said I really liked the office and the dentist. So I waited. When I went to the appointment last week everything seemed normal. They even had me verify my insurance information that nothing had changed etc like always. So when I get in the chair for the cleaning at that point the hygienist tells me that my insurance is no longer accepted. And that my dentist, that I waited 9 months to get this appointment for, isn't there that day. I was like hold on a sec. I thought about it and I decided to respectfully walk out without doing the appointment. So after doing some research the office did take my insurance when I made the appointment. They told me that they stopped taking it and that the email that they sent me about my appointment reminder stated this but I went back and read it and I can't see anywhere that they mentioned that they no longer accepted Delta Dental. So I asked why didn't you mention this when I called in to verify the appointment, or when I came in and you verified my insurance. I didn't get an answer. I was just told that it said it in the email that they sent. But I looked at the email and no mention of not taking Delta Dental any longer and having to pay in full out of pocket. I'm sorry but I feel like I have to put this in writing so that other potential patients out there will see this.

Thought i had an appointment on 7/30 for cleaning, arrived and was told my appointment is for 9/14…read more9am. My mistake. I walk out and go to update my calendar for 9/14 appt and realize I will be out of town for a wedding. Walk back into the office and ask to reschedule and I am told they are booked until March 2027 and I now I have to call when I return from wedding to see if any one has canceled. So as existing patient I am no a stand by patient. I give you plenty of notice that I need to reschedule. May have to find another dental practice.

I have had to call several times because they never responded to my emails to have the invoices and xrays sent. Miserable experience. This extra effort delayed my claims to get reimbursed requiring me to follow up several times for every invoice.

Initially, I lived & worked nearby, and I started Invisalign a couple years later in 2022. I paid thousands in full upfront. This past year, I moved to be closer to my new job in College Park resulting in a longer commute. I've always received great feedback regarding how my teeth are shifting, but I got trays mixed up towards the end of the summer while traveling, which delayed my schedule. I apologized for this. My work schedule + my job now being an hour away contributed to having to reschedule some appointments (in advance). Due to this, I've observed an attitude from their receptionist. There was an instance where I had an urgent work meeting, and I called in advance to reschedule & the receptionist just passive-aggressively chuckled... I'm not sure if this is the same woman who greets me when I arrive, but the receptionist who does is not friendly. I've had to say something to be greeted, and the interaction is dismissive. For my last visit, I sensed agitation during my appointment, which was disheartening since I've been a patient for so long. This is likely because the practice may want to wrap up my treatment since I've already paid in full & I'm so close to being done. Keep in mind, my deadline to complete Invisalign is 2027, but of course, I'd like to wrap up my treatment before that point. The practice may have gotten impatient due to my work schedule/commute, so I decided to then find another practice near me to transfer my treatment there. After seeing two Invisalign doctors for consultations, I was quoted additional thousands to transfer treatment. I reached out to Peartree to figure out the transfer process. I expressed to the practice via email my concerns & why I was exploring another provider. I expressed that I would ideally like to finish the treatment there, but that I also don't want to sense agitation when scheduling & arriving for visits. I was flat out IGNORED. I followed up with a question regarding how many trays I have left, which I was responded to quickly without acknowledgment of the concerns I expressed in my previous email to him. I responded stating that I will absolutely be changing doctors at this point because of my concerns being dismissed & for the transfer documentation to please be forwarded via email. I received a fast response with the form (again not acknowledging my email with concerns). The fact that I am switching Invisalign providers & will be paying additional thousands out of pocket with a new doctor rather than finishing up at Peartree due to poor customer service (when I'm so close to being done) is unfortunate... But this shows how disappointed I am in my experience at this practice as a long-term patient. It's apparent that the practice handles concerns by simply ignoring them, so they go away... especially, when the patient has already paid. Very unfortunate... I do not recommend.

I was told all was healed and to see my regular dentist for crown measurement in December, 2025. My dentist, after taking an x-ray, informed me that the implant had failed, most likely early on. My dentist and I have requested my records from this office - via email, verbally in person, voicemail and certified mail. Zero response. I returned for assessment in February 2026. X-rays and a CT scan were done. The doctor was abrupt, did not share image results, gave no explanation and stated that an exploratory procedure was needed. I requested a cost estimate for the exploratory procedure, as insurance will not cover a redo. Again, no response. I realize that implants can fail, but such unprofessional behavior is not acceptable.

We talked at length about different processes, and he referred me to an oral surgeon, Dr Richard Nessif, for further evaluation. In the meantime, we began the process of impressions, measurements and models. This process took 6 months with many appointments to get everything just right. At each appointment, which was usually a minimum of 45 minutes, I felt like I was his only patient. He never left me sitting by myself, waiting for his return. And if he had to step out of the room, his assistant was there in case I needed anything. He took his time, never rushing, to make sure every aspect of the appliances were perfect. On the day of delivery it was obvious Dr Katkow is an expert in his field. The implants fit perfectly. His precise measurements have ensured a perfect fit and a very happy patient! Along with an outstanding experience I had with Dr. Katkow, his office staff should also be mentioned. They are friendly, welcoming, professional and helpful in making sure you get the appointments that fit your schedule. They are masters of scheduling since most appointment wait times are less than 3 minutes in the waiting room. If you need a complicated procedure, this is the doctor you want to visit. But when I went back for the recheck I noticed something was off so I walk on the building the reception puts me in the chair starts checking my mouth. Then she starts going on about how her coworker who had been there since like 7:00 am that he shouldn't have a break. She said he was lazy and that she never takes breaks because she's so computed to her job. Then the doctor comes in Dr.park or whoever the male doctor is there. I tell him I think something is wrong with my tooth, twice he tells me no, then the third time I insisted he says "I'm telling you nothing is wrong". So obviously I choose to find another vet cause nobody is gonna talk to me like that and continue to get my money. I call and try to get my carats for my new dentist the receptionist tells me she will send them. I said great can you just send my records with it. She tells me "that violates HIPPA" I asked her why that is and what she thinks the law is with hippa she doesn't give me an answer. For anyone who doesn't know it protects me from anyone else who isn't me from getting my records and prevents them from talking about my records with anyone who isn't me. But I am entitled to my records. It would make sense if they had to verify who I was but even so you sent records to me and didn't verify so I could've been anyone so you could've definitely violated HIPPA if I was a stranger anyway which makes no sense to me. Fast forward my new dentist found that DR.Cho who did my fill in left decay in the tooth and that there was no way Dr.park didn't see it and was just doing dismissive and disrespectful.
