The manager, Veronica, is an absolute gem. She helped us with so many things from getting extra linens to giving us ideas for places to eat, since we were there during off peak times and early in the week. The spot that they are on in the river is absolutely stunning. The cabin we were in was peaceful and quiet. It was also just a short walk to have a beautiful view over the river and if you took a different path you could easily hop in. The back porch of the cabin was serene with bird feeders and even a humming bird feeder! There is a fire pit and a bbq pit if you feel like doing your own cooking. The cabin has all the necessary things for you to do your cooking for the entire time. I will say, prepare to be in the shower a touch longer, as the water pressure was somewhat low, but man...when water pressure is your single complaint, you know you're in heaven!!! I highly recommend this place and we will for sure stay here again. It's also reasonably priced. I advise if you're not trying to accommodate a summer schedule to go during the off season to enjoy a few less people.

If you want to go "off the grid," it's perfect. They do have internet in the cabins but no tv - and only minimal cell reception is with AT&T. But this place makes it so easy to forget the rest of the world & simply relax! If you have a small family, the one bedroom smaller cabins are ideal, which is where we stayed the first time. This time we stayed with another couple in one of the two bedroom cabins & had plenty of space with 4 adults & 3 kids. Tell Butch the Disney's sent you! :)

The property has a creek running along the property. They provide tubes if you want to just float and relax in the shade. I would recommend cooking dinner at the cabin as most restaurants are only open for breakfast or lunch, but we did visit on the off season. The closest full size grocery store is in Uvalde, so plan accordingly. Also cell service on verizon doesn't work in this area, but free wifi is provided.

My bestie and I planned a little getaway and wanted to experience a new river, as we live in the DFW area. Let me start with the access to the river is wonderful, plant your chair and relax. There is a small natural pool area as well. You access the river via a stairway or where the land slopes down to the rivers's edge. This part of the river is stunning, and shaded. These cabins are well suited for families and spending all day in the river to return to a place to cook, relax, and rest. The cabins are nice in a basic way, and comfortable. They and provide cookware, coffee pot, microwave, dish soap, kitchen towels, and a fridge. Pro tip - Ensure you bring paper towels, paper plates, trash bags if you are a large family, coffee, and all of your food essentials because Walmart is 45 minutes away in Uvalde and the general store pricing is high. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I were more prepared, even though the website is clear on what they provide. I'm not sure what I was expecting, I guess I have just stayed a cozy couples cabins, but it was great for two friends, and I will definitely bring my family back. The cabins are close together (we could see and talk to our neighbors on there patio) so if seclusion and privacy are what you are looking for this may not be the spot. I would strongly recommend it for families as they have common areas for basket ball, volley ball, and a park for the littles. Great stay and Margie at the desk was awesome. Wonderful stay. The cabin had everything we needed including river access (Nol has given public access to the river as part of a lease agreement with TPWD). I didn't get to meet her but Mark says she's the best. Nol has 2 cabins for rent that are a stone's throw from the river (30-second walk). They are attractive, clean, well-furnished and they are both newly built. As someone who likes to kayak Central Texas' rivers I've had the opportunity to stay at numerous different riverfront cabins and I have to admit that Nol's are the best by a long shot. Sadly, I can be overly critical at times but these accommodations were excellent. The bed (queen-size) was plush and comfortable, the AC was frosty cold and her riverbank is private, quiet and beautiful. She even has one of the best swimming holes that I've experienced on the South Llano. The 100-year old pecan trees that line her stretch of the river provided us a comfortable respite from the hot July sun. If you like to fish and run the rapids like I do Nol's property sits on an ideal location on the river to float into or float out of when making kayak trips. Pro Tip #1: When you make your morning cup of coffee go sit down on river's edge upon her rock steps. It's quiet, relaxing and you'll have the whole river to yourself. Pro Tip #2: After your dinner meal go sit out on the porch and watch the wild turkeys, white-tailed deer and axis deer come out to feed. We saw more wild game and birds than you'd see at the zoo.

I'm glad I took the chance. My family and I loved it. Communication with the staff prior to arrival and throughout our stay was great. Check in was easy. The ladies at the front desk are super friendly. The cabin: we stayed in cabin 15. The cabin was spacious. It had two rooms and each room had their own private bathroom. The living room had a couch and a TV. The kitchen was fully equipped. They have a coffee maker. Each cabin has a cute little porch swing and chairs. It also has a picnic table and a barbecue pit. The beds were comfortable. They provide linen. Th. The bathrooms are clean. Toilet paper is provided. Showers have good water pressure and hot water. They do provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also provide towels, but you have to get them at the front desk when you check in. The property has a playground, pool and a splash pad. The river is walking distance from all the cabins. You can take your truck or car down to the river to unload, but you cannot park your vehicle at the river. The river is practically private. It's nice and has plenty of space. They do have floats and kayaks you can rent. I did notice that you could walk a little ways up the river and float back down. The property is clean. The front desk does sell ice. It is an honor system and you pay at the end. Parking is available at each cabin, but they only can accommodate about two cars. If you need an extra parking spot, the front desk can assist you with that. The booking system was super easy.

River Bluff Cabins are located along the Rio Frio just south of Leakey, Texas just off Ranch Road 1120. It's a little slice of heaven conveniently located to the shops and restaurants in Leakey as well as to Garner State Park (not that you will have much reason to go to Garner State Park if you are staying at River Bluff Cabins. We stayed in Casa Cascada, one of their larger cabins. It has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths plus a full kitchen and two dining areas. The staff at River Bluff Cabins are helpful and very attentive. You will be hard pressed to find a hostess better than Heather. We will be back! That's for sure!
