Nothing but 5 stars for our stay! 14 of us stayed in the Buffalo Creek House and it was just perfect...clean, comfortable and a beautiful view! We had toliet paper in every bathroom...dish doap..dishwasher soap and even though they had just had 25 people in this house right before us you couldn't tell it! The owners daughter and son-in-law checked us in and were a delight to deal with! We will recommend Frio River Cabins to family and friends!

If you haven't been tubing or swimming on the clear cold waters of the Frio River, make your plans to come on down and grab one of the nice clean cabins at Frio River Cabins in Leakey, Tx.. Its a great way to have a good time with friends or family or both and beat the summer heat. These cabins are very clean and have the basics you need. Bring is food, linens, pillows, blankets, towels, insect repellant, coffee, charcoal, well, you get the idea. They have several cabins to choose from. The folks there are very nice and accomodating. Here is their web site www.cabinsfrioriver.com All of the information you need to arrange a visit his here. Happy tubing!!

A great place to stay. It was spacious and economical, not far from the river. The folks that run this place couldn't have been any nicer or considerate. The only drawback is the close proximity to the other cabins but everyone staying at the same time were very friendly.

Every morning that I was there, I drank my coffee and enjoyed this view. :)

Families with small babies Families with toddlers through teenagers Families with no kiddos Just you Weddings, reunions, or just because you wanna, this place can accommodate it all-I'm serious! -No worrying about missing nap times, forgotten sippy cups or binkis (pacifier). With your cabin within walking distance to the water, going back and forth is a breeze! From the right cabin, I'd be willing to bet your baby monitor will reach the water, too ;) -having pre teens and teenagers can make picking a vacay destination tough, but trust me, they'll be into this place. The front porch/balcony was the perfect place to read, watch the sunrise, and enjoy the birds. The "backyard" had a gorgeous view of the hills and had a picnic table, campfire, and bbq to make dinner and s'mores watch the sunset. The cabin itself was stocked with everything you need from kitchen utensils to coffee to extra blankets. Also, the living room had tons of entertainment like board games, movies, and books. Our favorite part of every night was reading and talking in front of the fireplace. The bed was massive and comfortable with cedar walls that made the room smell so cozy. Outside, there was a small clearing where we laid and star gazed, and one night a deer ran by us! Even the road to get to this place was absolutely stunning. My only suggestions would be better lighting in the bedroom, a bigger bathroom mirror, and curtains or blinds on the front windows. But I would definitely return here--we felt safe and it was wonderful in every way.

Great fun if you are into that sorta thing. One of the most beautiful drives in the lone star state. Motorcyclists populate the highway, so use caution but enjoy the drive... Now the lodges: made out of cinderblock with touches of local wood. Inside there are large kitchens with microwave, full size fridge, and stove. The cabin is one large room with wood floors, not separate areas. A futon that folds out into a bed is in the living room, directly behind that is a queen sized bed. Close to the dining table in the kitchen are the twin sized bunk beds basically in a nook off the wall. A bathroom with a stand up shower is off the kitchen (if you have a baby bring the portable tub). The back patio was great with a bed, benches, and adirondack chairs. Off the deck in the yard area was a patio table with umbrella and a charcoal burning grill. So, even though we had a large group in one cabin, we still felt like we had plenty of space. The owners of the cabin were extremely friendly and brought us a breakfast of homemade blueberry muffins, pecan bread, fresh squeezed orange juice and seasonal fruit. The lodges are in perfect proximity to Lost Maples state park, but away from all of the road noise. This is a place for those that like a hidden, cozy feeling, but still need more ammenities than camping(i.e. air conditioning!). My family will definitely be staying here again. Oh...make sure to stop at the store and load up on what you need...the closest full size grocery I believe is in Utopia about 20 miles away.

I'm glad I took the chance. My family and I loved it. Communication with the staff prior to arrival and throughout our stay was great. Check in was easy. The ladies at the front desk are super friendly. The cabin: we stayed in cabin 15. The cabin was spacious. It had two rooms and each room had their own private bathroom. The living room had a couch and a TV. The kitchen was fully equipped. They have a coffee maker. Each cabin has a cute little porch swing and chairs. It also has a picnic table and a barbecue pit. The beds were comfortable. They provide linen. Th. The bathrooms are clean. Toilet paper is provided. Showers have good water pressure and hot water. They do provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also provide towels, but you have to get them at the front desk when you check in. The property has a playground, pool and a splash pad. The river is walking distance from all the cabins. You can take your truck or car down to the river to unload, but you cannot park your vehicle at the river. The river is practically private. It's nice and has plenty of space. They do have floats and kayaks you can rent. I did notice that you could walk a little ways up the river and float back down. The property is clean. The front desk does sell ice. It is an honor system and you pay at the end. Parking is available at each cabin, but they only can accommodate about two cars. If you need an extra parking spot, the front desk can assist you with that. The booking system was super easy.
