Jared got the job done. He unclogged our pipe coming from our kitchen and garage area. Just one concern but in no way affected by Jared's professional work, is the cost. We've had our pipes drained in the past but never paid this much for this type of service. In any case I still would recommend asking for Jared for your drainage needs. Edited review: Oak Plumbing sent another technician to install the new faucet instead of the broken one. We didn't receive reimbursement for the faucet that we bought, but we didn't ask for that. If I could give Travis six stars, I would. He was that special. He was on time to my home in Oakland. He assessed the situation and confirmed the estimate I had received. He replaced the bolts between tank and the bowl on my toilet as estimated and then also replaced the flapper which I had thought was alright until he showed me. No extra charge! What makes him so special in addition to his knowledge and skill is his attitude. He wants to help people and he is so pleasant about it. He likes to make you smile and I am. I had a plumber by the name of Nate come out to clear my line. Instead of giving me all options he gave me an option to halfway clear the line for 350$ (which the bottom was still blocked because he couldn't get to it from the easy angle. You would have to go through the toilet inside the house to reach the bottom that is still blocked) or totally rip out my clean out and replace with a new one for 3500$. There was an option for 700$ to go in with a snake from the downstairs toilet to 100% clear the line that WAS NOT DISCLOSED to me. I think these guys get paid some type of commissions on the dollar amount (at least that's how I felt) I called the manager, James, 2 days later to see if it was possible to credit the 350$ I already had paid towards the 700$ full fix and he told me that was not an option. Even though it was not disclosed to me they would not work with me. Would have gladly paid the extra 400$ to totally fix the issue but it seemed like they only wanted to do the option that involved the least amount of work or the option that netted the most $ from me the customer. I recently had what I believed was a clogged drain, but it was much more. My house is about 30 years old and it essentially needed a complete drain pipe update. I usually do not write reviews, but I must this contractor. I needed a gas water heater, received bids, but since I needed it right away, I was forced to use Oak as they were able to install the next day. I knew their quote was high, $5300. It was an ordinary installation and installed the next day And it was working. However, the technician needed to come back and finish some work. I reviewed the invoice and found that he did not provide some items, like a new gas valve, grounding clamp, new earthquake straps and drip line. i ask him if I was to receive a credit for the items, he rudely said no, and would install them If I wanted them. He completed some of the items and left. A supervisor came by a few days later after I called and complained, and said he would send someone out to finish that week. Nobody showed, so I had to call again to get service. I complained again, and was told I would receive a call from the manager the next day, and I'm still waiting. I know I could have bought the tank for around $1000, so that means labor and parts were over $4300. I was willing to pay the price but also expected high service as well. Beware of Oak and make sure you get other bids and really review your invoice. read more
