BEWARE! BeastBay almost blew my house up! Another thing to note, if you are considering doing business with them, is that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to 2 other complaints they did not respond to. I had used BeastBay Plumbing once before when we had a drain problem. They were responsive, and the tech was friendly and informative. He fixed the problem, and we signed up for their loyalty program. I knew our water heater was nearing the end of its lifespan, and I called them to get a quote. Sydney came out and explained the options. I ended up going for the tankless water heater. I also got quotes to replace a kitchen faucet and install a new shower fixture. The techs who showed up were courteous, but they arrived a couple of hours later than I had expected. I anticipated the faucet and shower fixture jobs to go fairly quickly, but they took almost two hours. Then they started work on the water heater. What Sydney hadn't discussed was the need for direct power to the tankless system or a new vent. The tech wanted to open the ceiling up, but as it's a two-story house with a tile roof, that was a hard no. They ended up doing a vent through the side of the house. At first, they said it would be a two-day job, which wasn't mentioned when I booked, but after getting the side vent in, they said they'd finish that day. Here is where things go very, very badly. The next day, I went into the garage to move a car. I was overwhelmed by the smell of gas. I called BeastBay, and the phone center told me to call 911, which I did. In the meantime, I opened the garage door. I realized after I hit the button that, should anything spark, the whole place could go up. Thankfully, it didn't. The fire department came out, pinpointed that BeatBay had not tightened the gas connection to the tankless unit and turned it off. Then began a 2+ hour marathon of calls to BeastBay to get someone out immediately. Except they didn't. I had to call the office 4 times and then had 3 separate conversations with them. In the meantime, Sydney came back out to see what was up. I explained the severity of the gas leak and told him I wasn't happy he hadn't mentioned needing direct power or the need to re-vent from the previous water heater. Sydney indicated there would be a small rebate, and they would service the unit going forward free of charge. The tech showed up, apologized for not securing the gas line, tightened it up, and left. This was a week and a half ago. I heard nothing more from BeastBay. I called the office on Wednesday and asked that they memorialize what Sydney had said during our meeting in writing. The woman who answered, Sarah?, said she'd have to check with Sydney, in a tone that said she didn't believe he had offered anything. She came back and said that was correct, and she'd send it over by email. Nothing was forthcoming. I've called the office twice today, twice no one answered, and the third time it went to a general voicemail. I received a phone call 2 + weeks after the incident. The woman I spoke to apologized, but assumed everything was fine. I explained how VERY unhappy I was with both the work they did and their lack of responsiveness. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me yesterday or today. No call. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. To say I'm disappointed in the service is an understatement. We needed a quick water pipe cap off due to an old cartridge jam. Jovan showed up within an hour after scheduling a same morning request - he was quick and efficient when analyzing the issue and our needs. Since our updated shower materials hadn't arrived yet and our water was turned off, Jovan shared that he could quickly cap off the water line for a very reasonable price until it is time to replace the cartridge and valve, and install a new shower handle. Jovan quoted us an estimate, provided a military discount, and even shared information that might help us in the future (e.g., home filtration system that could help prevent white build-up stains, pipe issues, etc.) with an emailed quote for us to reference to in case we were interested. My experience with beast bay plumbing was extraordinary. Made an appointment super easily and they came around my schedule. Our water bill indicated that we had a leak and I am literally just a girl I did not know what to do. Luckily I just had to make an appointment with beast bay plumbing. Sidney was the first person that we encountered and he explained throughly what needed to happen. Was able to start the project based off of our time frame. Then came Edgar and Ricardo, the two cutest brothers that we got the pleasure to see for four days, they let us know what was wrong what they accomplished that day and were so kind in our home and was so clean. So I should start by saying, I have been using this company for years for various work, including major plumbing work, toilet installations, and running a gas line. With that said, on a Saturday evening, I accidently broke the water faucet/hose outlet connected to the main water shut off. So water was going everywhere. I was confused, as we had just spent a lot of money running a new line to the street 2 years ago. So I called BeastBay to see if they could come fix it, as I had no running water. The dispatcher told me they didn't have anyone available until Monday! I told her I had an 80 year old senior citizen in my home (my mother). After I took my Monday appointment, I tried calling 2 other companies. One well known company told me they don't service Vallejo, while the other one *ahem* rooter pretended they couldn't hear me on the phone. Jerks!! Next thing you know Ron, the owner from BeastBay called me directly and he sent one of his employees out that night to patch my water line. No questions asked! Turns out they had connected the new waterline to my 40 year old pipes with the original job. Either way, I am happy customer as we have running water again, and no leaks. Having emailed them late on a Monday evening before Thanksgiving, someone from BeastBay emailed me right back and said they could get to my problem Tuesday the next day or Wednesday. Dispatcher called me at 10 AM the next morning and gave me a window of 1 to 3 PM that day. Their guy Jovan showed up right at 1... COOL! This guy is great -- nice guy, professional (CLEARLY knows what he's doing), fast, efficient, and respectful of our property. The quote he gave me as WAY lower than I expected (switching out an old rusted shut-off value from 1974 and piping from wall to toilet tank) at 200 bucks. He went beyond and did the job right (explaining afterward how some plumbers might cut corners in dealing with the valve connection to the copper line, but showed me the proper way he did it). Claudio and CJ came to repair my leaking water main. The leak in the PVC joint has been a recurring problem. Claudio and CJ dug through the asphalt and replaced the leaking PVC joint with copper. Giving these guys another 5, even after a miscommunication this morning. I needed 2 bathroom faucets replaced and was price shopping this time around. Money is tight these days with inflation and all. I spoke to their office/sales guy on the phone and he promised a price cheaper than another provider so I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. Upon arrival, the quote was hella off and almost double what the guy on the phone said. I was HOT, but the guys who came to the house were understanding. They got their owner, Ron, on the phone and he quickly made it right and took care of me. I got my faucets replaced plus some old valves as well as they were seizing up pretty bad. Shout out to Claudio and Daniel for being super thorough, efficient and understanding. The work they performed today was solid. Poor follow up. Said they would send a quote but it never came. It was really frustrating as we were trying to get bids.

I have never posted before, but I did not receive good service and I would like others to be aware. My renter had a leaking washing machine and found BeastBay Plumbing on Angie's List. They did come out right away, and the recommendation was to view the pipe with a camera . The tech couldn't get the drain to back up, and wanted to call it a day assuming that the pipe had "cleared." I had to insist that he get the camera from his van and take a look. He did find a clog and recommended that we pressure wash the pipe. I thought it was expensive but agreed to the terms, so I am not going to complain. The whole process took one hour and the cost was $1,000. When the renter used the washing machine for the first time, she called saying that the washer would not fill. I asked if the water was turned on and it wasn't, so that was one trip over to help her with that. We got past that and I again asked how it was working. She said that it only leaked a little water. I asked if it was leaking from the drain or from the water supply. She sent me a picture of the leak coming from the water supply. I had to have someone go over and tighten that for her, so that was another trip. I called BeastBay Plumbing, not asking for anything, but wanting to let them know that their tech did not represent their company very well. I was told that the Owner would call me, which never happened. I am very disappointed with the lazy service and lack of integrity. read more

Good: they responded very fast to come out the next morning to fix a broken PVC line The Bad: they charged me $600, and justified it by saying someone needs to sit for a couple hours for the glue to dry. The technician that came out to actually do the work said it dries very fast and that he's going to leave, turn the water on in 1 hour, and call back if something happens. Even worse: the technician said that a shut-off valve should have also been installed given in this fix, given it didn't exist before, but he wasn't told so, and thus didn't have the right part--so too bad. It seems like the original quoter guy should have included this in the work... at least for $600 bucks... Conclusion: not going to go with them again despite them being very fast to message you if you need help. read more

While out of town in early August, a neighbor alerted me to a water leak in my backyard. I called around for local plumbers and BeastBay was more than willing to help, even same day! I was elated that this potentially catastrophic issue would be taken care of nearly immediately. After a diagnosis, the technician notified me that the galvanized pipe was shot and would have to be replaced. Over $2,000 later, it was fixed. Except it wasn't... The technician, James Riggins, failed to properly mate the new copper pipes up with each other, leading to another leak. This required another visit to my property to have his fix fixed. But wait, there's more! In order for the hose bib to work, a valve has to be turned on. This valve also causes one of my planter sprinkler boxes to run infinitely. So if I want to use my hose spigot that James replaced, I have to flood my planter, which is how we found out about this issue in the first place. This isn't even the only issue after this whole ordeal. James must've done something else to throw off the equilibrium of my property's irrigation system, as I've lost a whole Zone of sprinklers on my property. The landscaping is now dying unless I manually water it. Thanks to James, we fixed one problem and introduced a few more. But hey, at least my property isn't flooding, right? I reached out to Beast Bay management when returning home in late September about the issues that I noticed. I sent the email on September 27th. No response. On October 23rd, I reached out again for a follow up, asking for an update... Again. No response. On November 2nd, I asked for a THIRD update... To my surprise, Janea Williams reached out and said "I can send a technician out first thing Monday from 12-2" (November 3rd). Finally! Monday rolled around and I cancelled meetings and an appointment so I could meet up with the technician. Naturally, 2pm rolled around, and nobody from Beast Bay had showed up. Unreal. I would say it was unbelievable, but at this point, I wasn't even surprised. On Monday afternoon, I reached out to Jenea and the Beast Bay management team to notify them that nobody had arrived in that window we agreed on. To no surprise, I have heard nothing yet from anyone at Beast Bay. Beware of this shady company. They're fantastic at bait and switching you. Not only did I pay an astronomical amount of money to have my initial issue fixed, but I was ghosted and left with even more issues than what I started out with. I reached out to other plumbers and they all said the price I paid was highway robbery and they would've been able to do it for far less money and wouldn't have left me with the issues that Beast Bay did. I should have known when James was on the phone with his boss, he begged and pleaded for this job. It's almost like he knew what a simple job it was and how much he could charge me for it. Despite it being such a simple job, he managed to make so many mistakes. Oh and the cherry on top? James told me neighbor, who was housesitting for me, that James was planning on starting his own plumbing company. HA! Good luck with that. Plus I'm sure Beast Bay loves their own employees telling their customers about their future rogue endeavors. Oh, and in order to access the job site, James had to move my Mini-Split's compressor. He damaged it in the process and it had to be repaired and readjusted. Never again, Beast Bay. Never again. read more

When I open a project on Yelp, I've found it to be a roll of the dice as to the quality of the technician I end up using. Fortunately I chose well for a garbage disposal that needed to be replaced. I was amazed how several businesses insisted on scheduling a consultation call before committing themselves to sending a technician. BeastBay Plumbing based in Benicia just said to give them a call anytime. I did just that. I explained I had already purchased a new disposal and needed someone to connect it. Daniel came right on time, assessed the job, and told me it would take 1-1/2 hours and cost $375. True to his word, that's how long it took and how much it cost. On Christmas Eve our drains backed up and a toilet threatened to overflow. When Christmas morning came, we woke up to discover that Santa hadn't unclogged our sewer: we couldn't take a shower, or flush the toilet, or wash clothes, or run the dishwasher without risking a flood of filthy water--or worse. Merry Christmas! I called BeastBay Plumbing, and a miracle occurred! An actual human answered the phone on Christmas Day! I explained our situation, and then a second miracle: she said she could schedule someone to come check it out and deal with it first thing next morning. Bright and early next morning, they called to let us know that a technician was on his way. Sure enough, he arrived within an hour, checked out the situation, quoted a price, and called in a crew to take care of it. They arrived (again within an hour), pulled the toilet (since our system had no cleanout port), snaked the main drain, and had the sewer line cleared and running again, and the toilet reinstalled, before noon. We were charged the quoted price, and we happily paid it. All in all, it was truly a Christmas miracle! read more

Without Daniel I'd sever my relationship with this company completely. In years past I've gotten great service. Not the experience from the last 2 times I've had to use BeastBay. The tech name Miles was a horrible experience to have in my home. I had to supply him with protective plastic as well as a shop vac. He asked me at one point if I wanted the job to be completed (because he didn't bring all the needed parts with him), when I responded "do you want all the money for the job?" He replied with "oh I don't care, doesn't matter to me." Getting this kind of attitude from someone you're paying for a service is completely out of line. He made no attempt at any clean up except to wash all the Sheetrock dust and tile down the bathtub drain. My wife had to stop him and vacuum up all the debris herself. He left the house mid job to go on a parts run then still never completed the work. On top of that all, Miles put a nice size chuck into my fiberglass tub basin. The supervisor Daniel had to come finish the job on a different day. Overpriced, poor customer service, attitude, messy. That's how I feel about my recent experiences with BeastBay Plumbing. It's very unfortunate as I'd love nothing more than to have a solid, local plumbing company that I can count on. The only way I'll do business with this company in the future is by reaching out to Daniel the supervisor directly. It's sad to see that they've gone down hill in recent years. We had a bit of an urgent situation in a detached Guest Unit of less than 400 sq ft. Our Guest left unit with toilet clogged and backing up into shower, the bath sink not functioning & kitchen drain leaking . Beastbay was 1st to answer and the only company able to come out same day & within 3hrs of call. The pricing is what diminished my star rating. We're on Septic and was afraid the issue could end up affecting our main house. On top of that it was the weekend (Saturday). There was no mention of "weekend pricing" but we needed issue fixed so gladly pd to have issue resolved. The fix for $1000 included removing toilet, snaking line w/ camera and flushing (via running water) for approx 10-15 minutes. Seeing no backup drains cleaned & toilet replaced. A second appointment was suggested and scheduled for Monday following. However after careful consideration we cannot (at this time) take on the additional $2500 debt quoted for installing a 2-way clean out; to tie in the kitchen drain into the 10ft of replacement pipe running less than 2ft deep along the side of our small (less than 400 sq ft) unit and removing the existing external pipe drain for kitchen sink. Even with the wonderful "interest free" payment plan offered - The $1000 we've paid for lifting our toilet and snaking the line w/ camera was already more than we could afford. The 2 Gentlemen that responded were exceptionally pleasant. We appreciate their skills and knowledge of their trade which included information on comparative pricing and their willingness to give us a great deal reducing the added work from $4500 ultimately down to $2500...
