BEWARE! BeastBay almost blew my house up! Another thing to note, if you are considering doing business with them, is that they have an F rating with the Better Business Bureau due to 2 other complaints they did not respond to. I had used BeastBay Plumbing once before when we had a drain problem. They were responsive, and the tech was friendly and informative. He fixed the problem, and we signed up for their loyalty program. I knew our water heater was nearing the end of its lifespan, and I called them to get a quote. Sydney came out and explained the options. I ended up going for the tankless water heater. I also got quotes to replace a kitchen faucet and install a new shower fixture. The techs who showed up were courteous, but they arrived a couple of hours later than I had expected. I anticipated the faucet and shower fixture jobs to go fairly quickly, but they took almost two hours. Then they started work on the water heater. What Sydney hadn't discussed was the need for direct power to the tankless system or a new vent. The tech wanted to open the ceiling up, but as it's a two-story house with a tile roof, that was a hard no. They ended up doing a vent through the side of the house. At first, they said it would be a two-day job, which wasn't mentioned when I booked, but after getting the side vent in, they said they'd finish that day. Here is where things go very, very badly. The next day, I went into the garage to move a car. I was overwhelmed by the smell of gas. I called BeastBay, and the phone center told me to call 911, which I did. In the meantime, I opened the garage door. I realized after I hit the button that, should anything spark, the whole place could go up. Thankfully, it didn't. The fire department came out, pinpointed that BeatBay had not tightened the gas connection to the tankless unit and turned it off. Then began a 2+ hour marathon of calls to BeastBay to get someone out immediately. Except they didn't. I had to call the office 4 times and then had 3 separate conversations with them. In the meantime, Sydney came back out to see what was up. I explained the severity of the gas leak and told him I wasn't happy he hadn't mentioned needing direct power or the need to re-vent from the previous water heater. Sydney indicated there would be a small rebate, and they would service the unit going forward free of charge. The tech showed up, apologized for not securing the gas line, tightened it up, and left. This was a week and a half ago. I heard nothing more from BeastBay. I called the office on Wednesday and asked that they memorialize what Sydney had said during our meeting in writing. The woman who answered, Sarah?, said she'd have to check with Sydney, in a tone that said she didn't believe he had offered anything. She came back and said that was correct, and she'd send it over by email. Nothing was forthcoming. I've called the office twice today, twice no one answered, and the third time it went to a general voicemail. I received a phone call 2 + weeks after the incident. The woman I spoke to apologized, but assumed everything was fine. I explained how VERY unhappy I was with both the work they did and their lack of responsiveness. She said she would talk to the owner and get back to me yesterday or today. No call. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. To say I'm disappointed in the service is an understatement. The technician quickly located the source of the clogged drain and clearly outlined the options we had. They answered all our questions and we are confident that we chose the best solution for our current problem as well as preventing future clogs in the foreseeable future. They cleared the drain and ran a camera down the length of the pipe to show us the condition of the pipe. We authorized them to smooth out the walls of our ductile iron drain pipe and then showed us the "after" condition of the pipe, which gave us peace of mind. There was a little hiccup with the timeframe their office quoted me, but no big deal -- as long as they showed up the day they said (and they did!). Sidney and Ian came out, checked out my kitchen sink, and quickly figured out the garbage disposal needed a full replacement. We chose BeastBay Plumbing for a complete home repipe after meeting with several companies. Ron Buris and Jovon were professional and promised great service, which is why we hired them. I requested the work be permitted. The crew worked hard, but cleanup could have been better. Unfortunately, the day after the job was completed, a newly installed pipe behind our chimney leaked, soaking our brick fireplace. They repaired it, but it leaked again a couple of days later, causing more water damage. We had to shut off our water and went without water until Monday because no technician was available Sunday. I was told someone would bring fans to dry the area, but no one came, so I rented them myself. The city later failed the inspection, requiring additional corrections. We paid $24,972 for this project. After final payment, communication became very poor. I expected better follow-up and accountability for a job of this size. The inspection is failed and I can't get anyone from BeastBay to come fix the issue. I get the run around every time. Beware. They are good sales people and will sell to get what they want and will hound you for payments. UPDATE: BeastBay resolved the issues, and the work passed inspection. I am now a happy customer. I understand that mistakes can happen, and I base my reviews on how a company responds and handles the situation. Although it was not handled to my satisfaction at first, BeastBay ultimately followed through, corrected the issues, and made things right. So I should start by saying, I have been using this company for years for various work, including major plumbing work, toilet installations, and running a gas line. With that said, on a Saturday evening, I accidently broke the water faucet/hose outlet connected to the main water shut off. So water was going everywhere. I was confused, as we had just spent a lot of money running a new line to the street 2 years ago. So I called BeastBay to see if they could come fix it, as I had no running water. The dispatcher told me they didn't have anyone available until Monday! I told her I had an 80 year old senior citizen in my home (my mother). After I took my Monday appointment, I tried calling 2 other companies. One well known company told me they don't service Vallejo, while the other one *ahem* rooter pretended they couldn't hear me on the phone. Jerks!! Next thing you know Ron, the owner from BeastBay called me directly and he sent one of his employees out that night to patch my water line. No questions asked! Turns out they had connected the new waterline to my 40 year old pipes with the original job. Either way, I am happy customer as we have running water again, and no leaks. Dispatcher called me at 10 AM the next morning and gave me a window of 1 to 3 PM that day. Their guy Jovan showed up right at 1... COOL! This guy is great -- nice guy, professional (CLEARLY knows what he's doing), fast, efficient, and respectful of our property. The quote he gave me as WAY lower than I expected (switching out an old rusted shut-off value from 1974 and piping from wall to toilet tank) at 200 bucks. He went beyond and did the job right (explaining afterward how some plumbers might cut corners in dealing with the valve connection to the copper line, but showed me the proper way he did it). Giving these guys another 5, even after a miscommunication this morning. I needed 2 bathroom faucets replaced and was price shopping this time around. Money is tight these days with inflation and all. I spoke to their office/sales guy on the phone and he promised a price cheaper than another provider so I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. Upon arrival, the quote was hella off and almost double what the guy on the phone said. I was HOT, but the guys who came to the house were understanding. Good: they responded very fast to come out the next morning to fix a broken PVC line The Bad: they charged me $600, and justified it by saying someone needs to sit for a couple hours for the glue to dry. The technician that came out to actually do the work said it dries very fast and that he's going to leave, turn the water on in 1 hour, and call back if something happens. Even worse: the technician said that a shut-off valve should have also been installed given in this fix, given it didn't exist before, but he wasn't told so, and thus didn't have the right part--so too bad. It seems like the original quoter guy should have included this in the work... at least for $600 bucks... Conclusion: not going to go with them again despite them being very fast to message you if you need help. read more

While out of town in early August, a neighbor alerted me to a water leak in my backyard. I called around for local plumbers and BeastBay was more than willing to help, even same day! I was elated that this potentially catastrophic issue would be taken care of nearly immediately. After a diagnosis, the technician notified me that the galvanized pipe was shot and would have to be replaced. Over $2,000 later, it was fixed. Except it wasn't... The technician, James Riggins, failed to properly mate the new copper pipes up with each other, leading to another leak. This required another visit to my property to have his fix fixed. But wait, there's more! In order for the hose bib to work, a valve has to be turned on. This valve also causes one of my planter sprinkler boxes to run infinitely. So if I want to use my hose spigot that James replaced, I have to flood my planter, which is how we found out about this issue in the first place. This isn't even the only issue after this whole ordeal. James must've done something else to throw off the equilibrium of my property's irrigation system, as I've lost a whole Zone of sprinklers on my property. The landscaping is now dying unless I manually water it. Thanks to James, we fixed one problem and introduced a few more. But hey, at least my property isn't flooding, right? I reached out to Beast Bay management when returning home in late September about the issues that I noticed. I sent the email on September 27th. No response. On October 23rd, I reached out again for a follow up, asking for an update... Again. No response. On November 2nd, I asked for a THIRD update... To my surprise, Janea Williams reached out and said "I can send a technician out first thing Monday from 12-2" (November 3rd). Finally! Monday rolled around and I cancelled meetings and an appointment so I could meet up with the technician. Naturally, 2pm rolled around, and nobody from Beast Bay had showed up. Unreal. I would say it was unbelievable, but at this point, I wasn't even surprised. On Monday afternoon, I reached out to Jenea and the Beast Bay management team to notify them that nobody had arrived in that window we agreed on. To no surprise, I have heard nothing yet from anyone at Beast Bay. Beware of this shady company. They're fantastic at bait and switching you. Not only did I pay an astronomical amount of money to have my initial issue fixed, but I was ghosted and left with even more issues than what I started out with. I reached out to other plumbers and they all said the price I paid was highway robbery and they would've been able to do it for far less money and wouldn't have left me with the issues that Beast Bay did. I should have known when James was on the phone with his boss, he begged and pleaded for this job. It's almost like he knew what a simple job it was and how much he could charge me for it. Despite it being such a simple job, he managed to make so many mistakes. Oh and the cherry on top? James told me neighbor, who was housesitting for me, that James was planning on starting his own plumbing company. HA! Good luck with that. Plus I'm sure Beast Bay loves their own employees telling their customers about their future rogue endeavors. Oh, and in order to access the job site, James had to move my Mini-Split's compressor. He damaged it in the process and it had to be repaired and readjusted. Never again, Beast Bay. Never again. read more
