Probably one of my fave course in SoCal. Challenging, beautiful, and well kept. Golf carts are updated. The food, especially the bbq (when they have it) is really good. Opportunities for improvement: Customer service (not in restaurant) was less than ideal--to the extent of being a little rude. There were no water stations at any tee box for ball/club cleaning devices/towels or even just drinking water. read more

We made reservations on a Monday morning and we were running late but they still accommodated us anyways and we were so appreciative of that! The golf carts were nice and clean! Easy to drive and such good storage! We went with our baby who sat in a carrier and he loved it! It was a cool morning and he slept most of the time! Nice course, but beware if you play... -There is ZERO beverage service on the course. No water, soda, beer, cocktails, etc. You are expected to bring your own, even in 90 to 100 degree heat. No jugs of ice water... absolutely nothing. Your safety is not their concern. -Land in a sand trap and want to clean your golf ball? There are no washers available on the course. None. Zero. Nothing. -Hungry? If you're lucky, the snack bar on the eleventh hole might be open. Don't count on it. Bring your own food or eat before you arrive. -Robert will help you get your cart ready. If you are playing in a tournament or a large group, he will not have your pairings organized. You will be expected to know which cart is yours. He can't be bothered with knowing such things. -The holes are mislabeled. Hole #7 is labeled hole #5 and multiple others are mislabeled also. Unfortunately someone would have to go out and fix the signage but that would take some effort on someone's part to do so. You'll find out soon enough that work ethic doesn't exist here. -There are other nice courses nearby. For your safety and pleasure, you would be wise to look elsewhere. read more

Love this place! I'm lucky to have weekday flexibility to be able to get out while everyone is working and at a better rate. The vibes were so immaculate, everyone I encountered at the course was so nice and friendly from the gent that checked me in, to the gent at the bar, to the greenskeepers and the guys in the cart barn. The course itself, EPIC... insane views at every hole.. you can see the hills of Riverside with the overarching snow covered San Gabriel Mountains in the distance. But this course is HARD, luckily my drives were on point but there's a big possibility of running into trouble especially with the amount of bunkers, hazards, and desert style OB. The course would eat me up at times because 8 times out of 10 would hit a great shot and then flub the next because I would be super off balance, off camber, or on a slope and it's hard to train for those shots on the range. One of the guys in my group was being a crybaby because we didn't get to finish... started around mid noon... and sun set was about 5 pm... we were a little backed up at times... 2 groups of ladies in front of us, so we waited a while at every tee box and got to hole 17 before it was completely dark. But I get it, course is tough and it's going to take a bit longer. If I can get a deal for under 110, I will make the drive from LA anytime. Cant wait to come back and try the brisket sandwich! I heard it's legendary. PS- shoutout to the maintenance crew, they found my lab putter cover and turned it in for me! Truly honest! Thanks a ton! read more

The customer service in the pro shop is TERRIBLE. Rude, unaccommodating and they make you feel like you are doing them a favor by being there. Those guys need a lesson on tact and customer service. Driving Range has not been available the last 4 times I have played there even though when I call the day before, they tell me it will be open. Paying over $100 to play golf in Riverside and not being able to loosen up is not enjoyable. Put up a cage or net or something to hit balls into and more importantly, QUIT LYING TO US. read more

I had played the course years ago. Watching YouTube, I discovered that the course had changed the order of the holes. The new #1 is the old #17. The new #2 is the old #18. Although the 6:30 AM round was under $100, the course is still one of the best courses in the area. (Goose Creek is up there too.) Although not as lush green as Goose Creek, the fairways and greens were green without dry or bald patches. I do not recommend that beginners play this course. Most beginners will be unable to carry the canyon holes. I had a tough round after shooting par on holes 1 and 2. The sand is real sand, fluffy and smooth. Many players before us left giant footprints in the sand without raking them. If you hit in a bunker, try not to let your wedge dig very deep in the sand. Pace of play was good, but the round still took about 5 hours, probably because of the difficulty of the course. There is ample parking outside, but you are not permitted to drive the carts out to the parking lot (or close to the greens, for that matter). I rated my experience 4/5 not because the course was lacking, but because my experience was not a 5/5. LOL If I had shot a better score and not lost so many balls, perhaps I would have experienced a 5/5. read more

This was the first time playing this course. It was beautiful but very expensive. They have GPS on every cart. Things started to fall apart at #7. The GPS in the cart and the hole markers on the course are completely Wrong! We spent quite a bit of time trying to find the correct hole. The marshal had the audacity to tell us we were slow! We could not find the hole. He explained the GPS and hole markers were all messed up and that it had been like that for a couple years. Very disappointing experience for me and my 4-some. NOT worth the price. Staff didnt care at all. Attitude was too bad for you. read more

Could've received 5 stars but some things were lacking. Driving range wasn't open. Started 15 minutes late and waited on the group in front of us almost every shot. It wasn't exactly their fault either, it was backed up everywhere. No rangers to be found, played in 5 1/2 hours on a Thursday. No cart girl or on course water were leaving us a little dehydrated. Now, the views at Oak Quarry are incredible! Every hole was unique and the conditions were really good! The staff were friendly. Fix the customer service aspects and this course would deserve 6 stars. read more

Oak Quarry will always be one of my favorite places to play but for the green fee there is definitely some improvements to be made. We did finish in about 4.5 hours so the timing really wasn't bad and the marshal was a really nice dude and definitely kept the pace of play going with the guys in front of us. Course was in beautiful condition as always and the views and atmosphere are always phenomenal. Staff is always great. Not having the driving range open is very unfortunate, we are almost halfway through May, there is no reason for the price I can't warm up. Not having any cart person to help you out is super rough and then you have pretty limited options when you finally get to hole 11 or 12 or whatever it is with the small shack. No tees or anything else offered to make up for the range being closed either. Overall this place is still one of my favorite in SoCal but when you're paying over $200+ for just greens fees, it is the little things that make all the difference. read more

Oak Quarry didn't disappoint. The course was beautiful, especially after the amount of rain we received the couple days before. We were worried about the water and potential floods on the course but the crew made it seem as if it never rained! We played in the Lawd Golf Tournament. First time. It'd be fun to do it again! Organization was great, we started on time, food and drinks were bottomless and delicious! We shotgun started and had a ton of fun! On a regular day that wasn't a tournament, however, I still would not pay the typical $100 to $200 price per round. HV is just as nice and challenging and it's never more than $110 on a non-holiday weekend. Add a quality turn that golfers can grab and go or buy a cigar. Perk up the experience if ur going to ask for that green fee to play! It is beautiful, but besides the signature hole on 16, ur left making ur own experience what it is until the 18th. Overall id love to play here again, but not for those green fees! read more

The good: course is decent with nice greens. The bad: GPS watches and devices are worthless. Hole markers are wrong. Been this way for years and they don't give a F. Worst part is hole 9 is marked as 7. Cart GPS asks us if we want 8 or 11? We go back 3 directions looking for the 9 tee box. A lady informs us that 7 is 9 and use our handheld meter. We go back and the Marshall is scolding us because we are now behind which we were not. We explained and he is like yea we hear it everyday. I roll forward and he continues to scold the other two players. Contacted management, called, sent email and no response. I will file a small claims court case for our money back as this ruined our experience and game. I hope to file for punitive damages for all of us or at least to have them correct the issues. Personally I will never play here again. I will also warn others via Google reviews and social media. Management take notice, I will be relentless in pursuit of justice and to push you to correct the issues that are so frustrating for your clients. Please just fix the problems. read more

A group of 7 golfers celebrating two birthdays. Sunday morning tee times at 125 a pop. Booking through their app was pretty clutch. They use dynamic pricing so be mindful that tee time prices can change and fluctuate throughout the week based on demand. The same round on the weekend can be found for almost half the price so just be mindful of that. Overall, a great course that is somehow still in good conditions in the dead of summer. Lots of unique holes and from a visual standpoint one of the more unique courses in the area. Both birthday fellas said they would come back, which is always a good sign. For what it's worth and the price of weekend tee times in the surrounding area, we will be back. read more

No driving range, again, and it's going to be closed for another few months? Do they know what they are doing? First tee, the tee box is horrible. OK, maybe it's just this one, nope, pretty much every tee box was in terrible shape. They have been renovating their sand traps, for about 2 years?!? 1/3 are dirt, 1/3 have so much sand you sink 4 inches when walking in, 1/3 have about a half inch of sand. I was only in 1 bunker, but this was from the guys I was with. Starter is on a power trip, he has a clipboard so, don't mess with him. We play here about once a year, hoping it will get better soon. I guess with all of the Orange County people coming out and paying $150 or more, on the weekends for a poorly conditioned course, why would they make an effort? read more

The golf course itself was fantastic beautiful scenery, great views, and an enjoyable layout. Unfortunately, our experience was negatively affected by a ranger who approached us and accused us of playing too slowly. The issue was that we were consistently waiting on the group ahead of us and had nowhere to go. Despite explaining this, he continued to argue with us and never addressed the group in front that was causing the delay. It was disappointing because the course is truly beautiful, but that interaction took away from what otherwise would have been a great day on the course. read more

This course is a great track. Unfortunately, it seems to be very mismanaged. The first time I tried to play, they told me they had 250 (!) groups on the course because surrounding courses were overseeding. Fine. It took us 3:09 to play 9, and the snack shack was closed. We left early and I was fuming. Willing to give them a second chance, we played today. They were 20 minutes backed up at 10:16 and blamed it on double bookings - what the hell does that mean? How do you double book a tee sheet? This isn't spirit airlines. We finished the round today in 5:35. Unbelievable. Unfortunately, this is a never play again course. Not worth the money when it's so mismanaged. Find another course - goose creek perhaps - that's better run. read more

I will not be playing here again. We had a six-hour round and were waiting on every tee box. Whoever thought it was a good idea to allow an employee to insert himself and his group between the 11:05 and 11:12 tee times on a busy weekend should seriously reconsider that decision. Leon and Steve should be embarrassed by how this course is being run. On top of that, it's hard to take seriously being told the range has been closed for three months while also being over 25 minutes behind pace. Go somewhere else! read more

Golf was fun! Course was wonderful! Cart girl was always around! And hotdogs mid-game hit the spot.

I am really not too sure what I can say about the course. When I arrived on a Thursday afternoon, I noticed that there was absolutely no one to help with the bags. There were a number of golf carts lined up near the bag drop area but no signs or indications as to what to do next. I walked up to the golf shop and told that I could just pick up any cart and tee off when everyone in my threesome had checked-in. We did just that and there were not too may people on the course. In fact for a 1 pm tee time, we were probably the past people on the course. The course conditions itself was not the greatest as there were a few bald spots on the fairways. The fairway bunkers were totally solidified with tufts of grass growing in them. The greens though were in protty good condition. We decided to play from the blue tees which measured about 6600 yards. Surprisingly, playing from that distance did not seem too stressful at all. The best thing going for this course are the views. There were some spectacular views of Riverside and the surrounding area. I felt that the afternoon $90 green fee (cart included) seemed a very reasonable price. I would probably not pay more to play here. read more

Played on Sat 4/19, day before Easter. A holiday weekend. So we arrived an hour before our tee time, checked in, and went to hit some warm up balls. No range balls at the range. So after an hour of chipping and putting they came and got us for our 2 PM tee time. Range balls never arrived. We get to the first tee and are then told we are being pushed back 30-40 mins because they are running behind. There are now 8 groups waiting at the first tee. I go talk to the girl at the desk and ask why did no one told us they were so far behind? She had no answer. I tracked down the manager and expressed my concerns. No range balls... 45 min delay... no communication... paying for a round we may not finish. He gave two craps. Was very aloof about the whole situation. So now we are going on 2 hours waiting to play... was told the range is "closed" (which makes ZERO sense on a Saturday). So can't warm up, can't do anything but wait or putt on the putting green with the 8 other groups!! When we finally got out to play, the course was slammed. 5.5 hour round. Never saw one course Marshall to help with speed of play. The turn station was closed and not one beverage cart ever showed up. Remember this is a holiday weekend... so you would think the course would put an effort to provide those things not to mention the revenue it would generate. I have enjoyed this course over the years... it's a fun track and usually in good shape. Sadly though I won't be returning. The bad customer service, the lack of empathy, no apologies, just really ruined what was supposed to be a great day of golf. Best of luck with your poor service and nonchalant attitude... read more

Yikes, that was a terrible golfing experience. Save your money unless you enjoy any of the following: 1.) Range balls with chunks taken out of them 2.) Having to run out and collect more range balls if you want to take more than 10 practice shots 3.) Teeing off 10 minutes after your scheduled tee time 4.) Watching the group in front of you tee off on every hole 5.) No drink cart or any access to additional beverages until the 13th hole (especially egregious in the IE) 6.) No substantive food at the "turn" station, just candy and protein bars 7.) Seeing two, and at one point three other groups on a hole 8.) A 5.5-hour round It's a nice-looking course with interesting holes, but they group their tee times together like a muni and the pace of play is unbearable. I do not recommend unless you are a VERY patient person with nowhere to be afterwards. read more

Great spot for Breakfast! Pancakes were light, fluffy, buttery but not greasy. Breakfast burrito was executed perfectly with nice scrambled eggs and great tasting chorizo. Furthermore the wraps they wrapped them were the chefs kiss. These were high quality wraps you can't quite find at the grocery store, maybe not in the Midwest at least. it is a shame the way they treat golfers. Tees time only available on line with a charge just to set up the time. Impossible to reach anyone to change or reschedule your tee time. The phone is answered by an off shore call center that puts you on hold and comes back to apologize and asks you to call back in 15 minutes because the pro shop cannot answer the phone. Horrible customer service. When you do show up there is no range service, early coffee or beverage cart. A big shame because it's a beautiful course and with some customer service could be the premier course in the area. Course is beautiful! We like to the driving range but they don't always have range balls. Calling to ask if they're open or have range balls is a mess. You get sent to an overseas customer service if the golf shop doesn't answer, they put you on hold to call the golf shop, which doesn't answer, only to come back to tell you to call back in 15 minutes. They say the same thing all day. It's a crap shoot. read more

This course is pretty nice. I would compare it to Hidden Valley nearby. They do have tee times pretty close to each other but the starters are on it and will do last min changes if needed. We tee'd off at 8:55a and finished the round at about 2pm. About a 5hr round all together which was okay for a sunday imo. When you enter theres ample parking to the right, clubhouse to the left. You need to haul your clubs into the clubhouse as the carts do not go into the parking lot. They have a nice restaurant offering smoked BBQ. The proshop is pretty well stocked, and offered some free cookies! Plenty of carts. Only downside was the range. They had to "pick" the balls and we waited about 10-15mins to be able to buy some balls and take them to the range. There's a small chipping/putting green near the first tee. The range is a grass range, no mats, and the practice area offers a huge putting area, and a nice chipping/pitching area with 2 bunkers on both sides. First 2 holes are near the clubhouse and then from 3 and beyond you do not return to the clubhouse till the 18th. There's a concession bungalow behind the 10th hole offereing a plethora of drinks and snacks/light food. Theres a few restrooms on the course. I like the layout of the course. The greens were very different from the practice areas and rolled a lot faster. The undulation of the course and placement of bunkers makes this course pretty challenging. The views are pretty spectacular. For the price range balls could be provided IMO. Everything was great. read more
